Just an ok restaurant. Good service on a busy Sunday afternoon. Food had no seasoning or flavor whatsoever. I ordered the ropa vieja empanada and the lechon empanada and didn't care for them. Better in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. Agua Fresca was $9 and nothing special about it. Live music playing, casual ambiance. I don't think I would consider coming here again. Pricey...

I had a regular breakfast with eggs, homemade potatoes, and ham, which came with coffee with milk and toasted Cuban bread, plus an extra order of eggs. My cousin ordered a BLT (bacon, lettuce, tomato), which he said was delicious and looked great in the photos. The server, an older lady, was attentive, as were the other staff, which was nice since it was empty when we arrived. She even shared the secret to a good Cuban cafe con leche (coffee with milk) - a big plus! The ambiance feels very Miami, modern Cuban with the classic rooster at the door and wooden seating. Definitely recommend if you're from out of town!".
We were visiting Miami exploring Little Havana when we decided to stop here for lunch because of reviews. Big mistake! The place was busy, but we sat for over 20 minutes before our server even acknowledged us. She eventually took our order, but we never received our drinks and no one checked on us again. Meanwhile, people around us were being seated, getting drinks, and getting their food. My friend tried to say something to another server, but it didn't seem to go anywhere. The whole experience felt awkward and unwelcoming, so we ended up leaving and going elsewhere for lunch. Definitely disappointing.
Came here around lunch time on a Friday. This is such a cool Miami Cuban vibe spot with a lot of history, they've filmed scenes here from war dogs, power, and Ballers with The Rock Dwayne Johnson. When I went, they had live music playing; it was so lively and fun. I sat at the bar and kept seeing all these amazing looking sandwiches coming out for different tables. I ended up getting the steak sandwich with a mojito. mojitos are a must in Little Havana. Everything was delicious and fresh. the atmosphere was great; it gives you that authentic local feel.
I was on a walking tour of Little Havana in Miami and happened to find this cute coffee window. Had to try the Cafe Cubano and a chicken empanada. Most Cuban restaurants have a walk up window just for coffees and snacks. My order was taken quickly by a friendly server behind the window and was ready promptly. The Cafe Cubano was served as it should be, hot and sweet. I loved the empanada too. It was loaded with chicken and veggies. A definite must try in Miami!!!
Being a Miami native, I remember little havana being run down and not a tourist place, and el pub has been there since I was a kid. So visiting town, we decided to stop for some cuban food for old memories. We ordered a churassco and a fritanga for mains, then quarto leche and arroz fon leche for dessert. Service was friendly and quick. Food was delicious and just like i remember 30 years ago. While little havana is very different, the food still hits the same.

We arrived for our food tour a bit early so we decided to pop in for a Mojito. It was excellent! This spot was also on our food tour for the best empanadas and coffee! We had a beef and spinach & cheese on the tour. The best empanadas I've ever had. This spot has been featured in several movies! read more

We are vacationing in Miami. No vacation is complete without a visit to Little Havana. I have mixed feelings about El Pub. First we stopped for their $5 mojitos. The mint was old, even brown in the drink. The bartender completely ignored us, and the waitress literally asked, "what do you want?" Then the bartender quickly served another couple that just walked up. We came back with a walking food tour. Their empenadas and Cuban coffee are amazing! So after the tour we came back for more empenadas and had the same terrible service experience with a different waitress. Bottom line- go to the Little window and get your empenadas to go. read more
I can only comment on the coffee and empanada de carne, but both were excellent. We went as part of a walking food tour and our guide explained to us how Cuban coffee was made and how one small cup was meant to be shared with multiple people. We all tried some and it was really nice and strong, but still sweet. He also gave is each and empanada that was filled with a ground beef mixture. Super good tasting and we were glad to learn about it from a local. read more
Yum... ABSOLUTE DELICIOUSNESS!!!! We had a very long layover in Miami so we decided to visit Little Havana. There are tons of boutique restaurants along Calle 8, but something about El Pub was welcoming. It's definitely not the prettiest restaurant from the outside, but sometimes those are the best spots to eat. The interior is like going to your elder's house, the one that cooks the best food. We were greeted immediately when we walked in and sat at the bar in the front. The menu had LOTS of great options but I went with the beef empanadas and the Cuban sandwich. Can't be in Little Havana and NOT get a Cuban sandwich and a cafecito. The cafe Cubano was so delicious! It was smooth and flavorful. The food came out really quick too. The empanadas were STUFFED with filling. Soooo good!!! The Cuban sandwich was delicious! The bread was crispy on the outside and buttery soft on the inside. Everything was so yummy. The price was awesome for everything I got. Will definitely return when I'm in Miami. read more
We love El Pub! Good prices, good food, and good service. We went on a Friday night, so we took advantage of the Happy Hour from 5-8pm and got the $20 Beer Bucket, which came with 5 beers. We take visiting friends & family here all the time, everyone loves it. read more

Food: 4 Out of 5 Delicious Cuban picadillo empanadas! We make Spanish picadillo at home so the flavors are very similar;however, those slight differences in Caribbean influenced spices make that difference. Loved it! We wish we ordered a few more before we left Little Havana. Don't let that small Cuban espresso fool you. That small cup is enough to wake you up and keep you going for a few hours. Fair warning Cuban coffee is heavy handed on the sugar so I couldn't give a description of the coffee itself. I drink my espresso and my coffee black to taste the coffee. Yes I am a coffee bean snob, preferably a medium and dark roast to get that full body flavor you're welcome :) Service: 5 out of 5 Full disclosure we were on a food and history tour so the folks that served us were nice. However we did come back a couple hours later without the tour group and they're service was still on point. Environment: 5 Out of 5 Home-y vibe from our quick pit stop. We didn't go into the restaurant to sit down. Overall: 4.5 Out of 5 A great experience especially with our food tour group. Loved the history behind the food and how the Cubans start off their day. --------- I cannot stress enough to be responsible adults and travelers! My partner and I work in healthcare and COVID is real. If not for yourself, think about the children and older adults around you. Mask up, get your COVID vaccine(s), and or both! Picadillo empanadas are amazing! From the puff pastry outer layer to the filling. I highly recommend the picadillo filling which consists of beef, peppers, and olives. A not-so-local move is to ask for their hot sauce which is just a vinegar-y sauce that's add a little kick to the empanada. The chicken empanada was also quite delicious. It consisted of shredded chicken, onions, and raisins. Our tour guide also brought us here to try out Cuban coffee, "café con leche". Apparently it's super strong coffee which is dripped onto sugar so you get a little sweetness in your shot. I personally wasn't a huge fan but the story behind sharing a cup of coffee with someone was quite nice. read more

Great little unassuming hole in the wall in Little Havana near the visitor center. We enjoyed a croqueta preparada at the bar. Our server was attentive. We loved watching the cook make all the orders. Great conversation with a local who eats there everyday!!! read more

*Sigh* I have mixed feelings because I REALLY wanted to love this place. I saw the walking tours and they were enjoying empanadas. So we ordered a variety of things. - Empanadas 5/10 - they had a good taste but were cold as if they had been sitting for hours - Croquetta 5/10 - same as above and also kind of soggy - Stewed beef plate (Tuesday special) 2/10 - this was reheated from the fridge and not heated enough. It was also so dry I couldn't chew it. Overcooked yesterday at a high temp to speed the processed, then served today dry and cold. It came with fries, and black beans&r ice. None of which had any flavor or even salt, and were also dry and cold. I really though this would be delish especially since she recommended it, but I think now she was just trying to get rid of it - Steak & eggs 3/10 - essentially the same theme as above. Steak was very dry and also cold. The eggs however were cooked perfectly. - Coffee 8/10. - Hot, fresh, strong and delicious! - Pina juice - 1/10 - not served with ice so it was room temp, watered down, and it was $8. Like...I was blown away Service was friendly but it wasn't enough to get me to come here again. I think the location is great and gets them a lot of business. I've never had authentic food so I was very excited to try this restaurant before leaving the Miami area. The food was amazing, great size portions. Very flavorful. However the mango mojito was not--way too sweet. The waitress Nelly was very rude when asking to sub it as I literally only took 1 sip (initial taste and 2nd after stirring it to see if it was better. From that point forward, Nelly just had a very nasty attitude like she didn't want to be at work or maybe service my friend and I. We didn't get nasty back nor raise our voices-- didn't get disrespectful. Could have made for a solid experience, but her attitude tanked that for me. read more
Actually found this restaurant using Yelp. Was in the area due to having to be at Jackson Memorial Hospital and decided to give this place a try. On a Monday at 3:30 in the afternoon they had live music. The outside patio felt so relaxing and inviting with the pop up bar. We sat inside to listen to the music. The waitress that we had was very attentive and was able to understand what we were ordering and was able to communicate, even though there was some language barriers. Started with that beef empanadas, which were moist inside and so good. We also got the fried plantain chips. The sauce that comes with it is phenomenal that I actually used it for my Neel as well. my sister got the Cuban and said it was the best Cuban she has had. My Palomilla steak wasn't as thin as what I'm accustomed to, but for the thickness and juiciness of the steak made it melt in your mouth. Highly recommend this place if you are in the area. Party of 9 enjoyed the slow service which allowed us to fellow ship. Pollo Asada was not available but the table enjoyed 3 lamb plates, 2shrimp creole plates, 2 mojito pitchers, 2 presidente beers, 1 mango, 1 pina Colorado and so many empanadas!!! We stopped by while we was in Miami. We were greeted and told us we can sit anywhere The menu was full with a nice variety of items. The service was okay they didn't check up very often which was ok for me I think our waitress she didn't speak to much English. My empanadas was sooo cheesy and good . The cafe con leche was the Best I ever had. The one I had at the airport by a popular restaurant starts with V couldn't compare to this cafe hmmm. My husband had a Cuban sandwich he said it was delicious the size was for 2 people he couldn't finish it and his French fries was cooked perfectly. My son had a sandwich which looked like a cheeseburger . Overall if I am back in town I would be back for my cafe con leche and I would definitely recommend if anyone to come here. The place has a nostalgic feel. Original chairs and set up. Definitely the original Miami look. I love the feel. The staff was very friendly, spoke good English As well. They are very generous with the portions of food. The mojito is a popular drink, however it tasted like sweet sugar water. So I can't comment on the to much in the drink besides that; bowser, The drink was very pretty But I'm a hard cretic when it comes to judging alcoholic drinks. Now the food was amazing. Very flavorful, the fajitas used tostones versus the wraps. The shrimps were huge and the chicken was flavorful. What drew us in was the $6, Monday mojito special they were delicious and refreshing. We order the calamari- it was good and liked the dipping sauce. My husband and I then shared the lechón sandwich, meat was cooked perfectly. read more
El Pub, in the heart of Lil Havana, you fine locals enjoying cuban cuisine and beverages. I had to have one of my favorites, Bistec de Palomilla. Cuban steak with onions and peppers served with mixed beans and rice. Of course, you have to have some plantains on the side. The steak was well seasoned. Sides were filling. No cuban meal is complete if you dont have a mojito or cuba libre to wash it down. I went with the mojito. The restaurant had live music - local talent. They also had an outdoor and indoor cuban coffee setup. This place is worth the visit if you find yourself in the area. Bon Apetit. read more

The Food is okay here Not the best cuban food. Family had ropa veja and palomilla. I had a Cuban sandwich which was a little dry. Service is terrible our waitress Maria had a snotty attitude seems she is in need of a husband. Our cups with ice stank had an onion smell. Seems they just rinse their cups with just water. Gross. Something about the way they make their Cuban coffee here keeps making me go back, ( they make it with a lot of espumita of course ). 8th st Cuban restaurant staple. This place is always packed with tourists. The staff is friendly and the food is solid. They make amazing Cuban coffee and they have some batidos ( smoothies ). My favorite thing are the empanadas! Specially the beef one, it has a lot of meat inside, well seasoned, also has potatoes inside which a lot of empanadas around Miami don't. They also make other traditional Cuban dishes. There's a lot of Cuban culture decorations and the the vibe of the place is vibrant and upbeat. Well recommended! read more

Delicious Cuban food in the middle of Little Havana. Serve was ok, but I think this is one of those local spots that worry more about food then service and I am okay with that! The food was delicious!!! And the price! Thank you for not hiking up your prices like others do. Honestly great price for the delicious food you'll get! $1 croquettes which I highly highly recommend. So much flavor and perfectly fried on the outside. The empanadas are a MUST! I repeat a MUST!! Husband loved his beef one, they def don't skimp out on the meat and I adored my guanabana y queso one! Essentially it was an empanadas with guava and cheese and wow did they not skimp Out on the cheese or guava- honestly best one I've ever had and this is coming from a Puerto Rican who has ordered these everywhere! I ordered the media noche and my husband got the pan con lechón. Both were fantastic! Loved the indoor area, super cute and they had a band playing some great Cuban beats. Before of this place, food is HORRIBLE! Group 5 of us ordered Grouper dinner. Place was almost empty. After waiting for half hour to place order, and half hour to be serve we recive cold food and steak from Cobia instead of Grouper filet. I expected to be appologized that's why I asked to talk with management. After waiting for 15 minutes a young man came from the night club cross the street and introduced himself as a manager. We expected refunds or something else to eat but manager offered 15% discount for all dishes that we could not eat. Fish steak we been served was look like a cobia instead of grouper filet. Was nasty, cold and dry like a hard cardboard!!! Situation was very en pleasant and I'm not afraid to call them scammers or cheaters!!! read more

They are located in Miami in the Little Havana district. The Cuban food is normally more authentic in this location. Yes very touristy but the food is seasoned well and good!! Customer service is always on point. Ive eaten here a few times, just now doing a review. They do have free parking in the back of restaurant, free parking is rare in Miami. They space to eat inside or outside is covered. The food/ drinks came out in a timely manner and tasted delish!! Prices are reasonable and you will receive large portion sizes. I really love the whole Cuban vibe in this area!! read more

Just had breakfast at el pub. It's a hidden gem, I work at Ball & Chain and just had them in the corner of me. Today i decided to check them out since they have guava and cheese pastries Was not disappointed Had the Moro & 2 eggs with bacon on the side A beef empanada And can't forget my coffee with toast!
