Stopped in Tumwater on our way to Seattle and decided to get a to-go order at The Brick. Tried to…read moreplace an order online, but you can't after 8pm and it was 8:03pm. I ended up calling (twice - nobody answered the first time) and got an order over the phone. I headed down there and the first thing I noticed is that the building needs work. There is a tin roof siding kind of thing along the entire front of the restaurant. It is old. Paint coming off. Not a good sign. Went into the bar as I didn't realize there was a separate bar and restaurant. I didn't see any signs showing that. I was directed by a bartender to go to the other side to get my order. A very nice blonde girl was there and went to bagging my order getting my chowder and everything else which took 5 to 6 minutes. It was over $64 with the tip. Got back to my hotel room to try my french dip. Problem is, they forgot the dip - no au jus. It is just warm roast beef in a bun. No flavor. Nothing to it. I couldn't even finish a half of it. The tater tots were bad. Half were soggy. No seasoning. No flavor. Not worth eating. The pickle was good, but wrapped in a napkin kind of thing that made my hands messy trying to unwrap it to eat it. Next up was the clam chowder. It was yellow, so I assumed it was a corn chowder. It is neither. It smells like a ham chowder and tastes like a vegetable/potato soup. It is very watery and had big pieces of celery and other veggies. I have no idea what this is supposed to be, but it is not a clam chowder. Finally, I got chipotle wings. They appear to have been a dry rub. I had hoped they either would come with a chipotle sauce to dip them in or they would be sauced wings. They were neither. Being a dry rub, they had a hint of chipotle flavor, but basically tasted like bare wings. My wife got a pasta bread thing of some kind. She had 4 bites and that was it. $64 for about 10 total bites of food. I hate to waste that money and throw away so much food, but I'd be doing homeless people a disservice by giving it away. To recap, building is old looking. Forgot an important part of one of the dishes. Soggy, unseasoned tots. Watery, "clam" chowder that that is really a potato/veggie soup, wings with almost no flavor - may as well have just asked for bare, unseasoned wings. Wasted $64.

I had what I thought was an issue about our tile roof that would require a complete replacement…read more Every roofing contractor that came suggested an expensive replacement, some without going on the roof to inspect, those who got on the roof but didn't take any pictures or moving a single tile. Jonathan was different. He was all about details and was scrupulous. He took pictures to show me areas that, down the road, may need work. He commented on the cracked screws around the vent cover, the broken seal around the skylight, the flashing being clean, the current condition of the underlayment, the protective metal shield along the perimeter of the house installed by the previous owner, etc. In spite of some minor issues, he concluded that the roof is in good condition and no repair or replacement is necessary. He didn't charge me anything for the inspection when offered . He explained well and was pleasant. We appreciate his expert advice and will definitely work with him in the future for maintenance and/or replacement when the time is right. Thank you, Jonathan LaMoine and Ben for your help. Jonathan came over and checked everything out, giving us the unfortunate update that we had a lot more issues than we actually knew. When he inspected our roof for a quote, he is the ONLY roofer who took pictures to explain to us what was going on up there. He is also the ONLY roofer who followed up with us after receiving the quote. We had a small legal battle due to our inspector being negligent which is why we didn't know about any of these roofing issues. We did some research on the products they were going to use and after everything we found out it was a clear choice for us on who to proceed with. We signed a contract with them in January and we just completed our roof and gutter installation before the end of March. There was a lot more damage than what we expected which made us even more grateful that we had Jonathan and his team working on our home. He communicated with us the entire time with daily updates on their progress. We are so grateful to LeMoine Roofing and would recommend them to anyone. We can't wait for more housing projects in the future and will absolutely be giving them a call.

BEWARE! We visited Rough Cut Sheds in Thurston Co. We were favorably impressed with the sheds we…read moresaw, and with Ron. Ron drew us a rough diagram (which included windows) and which was a basic design agreeable to us. We made a down payment. Ron told us we'd have the shed in 10-12 weeks. Ron seems like a very nice guy as long as everything goes his way! If it doesn't, we found, he is not at all customer-friendly. It is important to get an extremely detailed drawing of the shed, and an extremely detailed contract from him. Both his drawing and his contracts lack important details we unfortunately later realized. During the 10-12 weeks we tried to reach Ron a few times to clarify our shed details, concerned that the drawing was inadequate. It was hard to reach him and when we did he seemed disinterested, unwilling to discuss details. We then provided him drawings to make sure we were on the same page with what we had discussed for our design weeks back. He barely acknowledged the drawings if at all. In asking after status of our project, he was noncommittal. It was 15 or more weeks before the shed was finally delivered. Delivery price on arrival was at least double the cost he had estimated at our initial visit. And, although he had told us we could select different windows which we did (and paid for, and had delivered to him) he did not subtract cost of windows he would have used from our remaining balance. Thus, we paid for windows twice! The exterior step which we'd agreed upon was missing on delivery. The door opened in the direction opposite to what I had requested; he told me his design was better! An exterior wall board, a few days later, popped free at the base. The interior wall-attached sitting-bench legs were too weak to support the bench which bowed substantially if sat upon. Ron suggested I get someone in Seattle to make the needed repairs, and that he would reimburse me. I got a local carpenter to do the repairs and sent Ron the invoice with photos of the work for reimbursement. Hearing nothing back from Ron, I called. Ron got quite angry and hung up the phone. I've called back again to get this resolved. It has been akin to dealing with Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde! Ron has steadfastly refused to reimburse me--as he three times promised to do--for the board, the bench, and the step, and the door repairs. Since then, the door latch has also stopped working and the door does not close. He has been rude and hangs up on me although I've been most patient and courteous in calling as to status of the reimbursement. He hangs up after making very angry untrue statements and personally insulting comments to me. I would encourage exercising extreme CAUTION in dealing with Rough Cut Sheds!! Ron has a way of turning questions and legitimate issues back on his customer. He refuses to accept responsibility for issues with his work and has quite limited communication skill, in our experience.
