Kasita Krec’s - Bar and inside restaurant - Mexican Near Me - Lacey, Washington

You'd figure chorizo would add flavor, but the breakfast burrito was BLAND. Spouse had Suissa Enchiladas from the lunch menu, was also bland despite putting salt and pepper on rice, beans & enchiladas. The Suizas Cream sauce HAD some flavor - vinegar! Lots of no-flavor shredded chicken that was very dry. Beans were runny Might I suggest simmering the chicken with chicken broth, onions, garlic, salt and pepper before shredding? Maybe a little Mexican spice? Definitely will NOT return read more

After checking out the good reviews this restaurant had, we decided to give it a try for a birthday celebration. The location was easy to find in a small strip mall and plenty of parking available. Immediately upon walking in the place looked clean and tidy, something that is very important. We were immediately greeted and asked if we'd like any beverages. We also requested chips and salsa, as well as a side of queso dip. The chips were fresh, the green salsa was delicious and we all loved the queso dip. The cocktails arrived shortly after the chips. One was a Cucumber Smash and the other was the Devil's Margarita. Both drinks were delicious and nicely presented, as well as VERY potent. Our lunches arrived in a timely manner, with two of us ordering the chile relleno and I had the Enchiladas Duran. My enchiladas were filled with freshly shredded chicken and a tangy chipotle sauce. The chile rellenos came with rice and beans and both enjoyed theirs. We all commented on how fresh and inventive the foods were and that we did't leave with the bloated feeling after a large Mexican meal. Although we live about an hour away, we vow to return and try other things on the menu. Don't sleep on this place! read more

Good food! The drinks are strong, so order accordingly. Service was very nice, just slammed because of Cinco de mayo.

We stopped in for lunch and the restaurant was empty except for a couple in the bar. No water or chips and salsa. The restaurant did not have a Mexican flare minus the large stuffed pepper in the bar. The furniture and decor is modern and plain. Easy listening music was not Hispanic. The waiter took our order chips & salsa $4.50, Enchiladas Duran (no rice and beans, relleno with 2 choice of sides, tortillas, ice tea and Pepsi. It took a while to get the chips. Drinks came much later while my friend half choked on the chips. Again, no water. The enchiladas had a lovely presentation but they were cold. The sauce was thin and cold. Obviously they did not heat the plate. The relleno was ok but it would have been nice if the pepper skin was peeled. Again, the plate was cold. The carnitas taco was yummy. Taco was only $2 taco Tuesday special. Next time we will go for the tacos only and request water. Overall, the lunch was disappointing. read more

What a lovely spot for a mix of Hispanix flavors! Serving was enough for two and flavors were truly delectable! It's not your typical chips and salsa place but rather dine and enjoy good conversation. I didn't order a drink but bar and drink menu looked good too. Definitely coming back! read more

Just grabbing a quick Steak Fajitas to go and like most Mexican restaurants, everything comes with beans and rice which I love but at the same time, I am battling glucose levels so the option to choose my 4 sides is invaluable to me. So got the beans, skipped the rice (had already done a carb load earlier in the day) and the food was excellent! The place is new but the interior was really nice; simple, clean understated but inviting. Will need to revisit when I have the time to really enjoy a meal. read more

Overall OK, but would t recommend. I ordered the Chips and Queso as an appetizer, and an el pastor burrito as an entree (that day's special). The queso was good and had nice flavor. Extra hot sauce / salsa available by request. The burrito was OK, but presentation left something to be desired. Pineapple was included, as is traditional with el pastor, but it was big chunks straight out of a can. read more

Amazing service. Delicious food and cozy atmosphere. Try the posole or menudo. My favorite is the tacos birria and the bulldog burrito.

I have been reading such great reviews and was excited to finally try. I ordered the shrimp street tacos with rice and beans. The menu said they come traditional with onion, cilantro, radishes and green sauce. When they arrived none of the extras were with it. I asked the waitress, Carla where it was. She said the shrimp ones don't come with the extras. I said, oh probably should mention that when we order. She turned around and said "yeah and you could have asked". How I was suppose to know to ask if what was stated in the menu was indeed what I would be receiving, is beyond me. The food was decent, but needless to say, I won't be returning for a second helping of that disrespect. Very disappointed. read more

The food is amazing, the drinks are made well. Dine in and take out are fast. The carne Asada fries and birria are not to be missed!

SOMETHING IS JUST NOT RIGHT. This is our second time trying Kasita Krec's. The first time the guacamole tasted like garbage. I don't mean it tasted bad, it actually tasted like a garbage can smells. We thought maybe the avocados were too old. It was their first week open and we wanted to give them time to settle in before making any conclusions. But the same thing happened this time and now the Pico de Gallo also had the same 'garbagey' taste. Something might be going on with the quality of the onions or how they are stored. We won't be back. read more

We thought it was just ok. Chips & salsa, complimentary water would all make it much better. Food was ok if you're looking for authentic Mexican. I feel I make better Spanish rice at home with Abuelas recipe but jmho. Portions were on the small side but maybe that was because we were there closer to lunch than dinner? I dont know but not sure we'll be back. read more

It was terrible. Save your money and go somewhere else. Everything was frozen and reheated, nothing was fresh, and it was completely tasteless. Not to mention the interior is cluttered and unclean. Service was slow. read more

Holy Mole! This place is the real deal! The mole enchiladas were so yummy and the portion was huge! Four people in my party and everyone was impressed. Service was good and fast. Best Mexican I've had in a long time. read more

Finally, a restaurant with "authentic" homemade Mexican food in the Olympia area!! It is a simple place, and easy to pass by without realizing it. But don't let this fool you. The food is truly delicious! If you enjoy Mexican food or are looking for something different, this is the place for you. Karla our server was wonderful and gave me a great meal suggestion as there are many choices. It doesn't get any better! Thank you Kasita Krec's for coming to my corner of the world!!! read more

We have gone here twice now. The staff is very friendly and the space is classy. We did not care for the music at all! It did not fit the ambience. It was loud and it was like old rock or something. The first time we ordered chicken fajitas which comes with 4 sides of your choice and chicken enchilada duran. The fajitas were very bland unfortunately, but the chicken duran was very tasty and unique. The chicken in the enchiladas was not tender and required a knife to cut. This second time we came we ordered the chicken enchilada duran again and the chicken enchilada suizas. The chicken was tough again on both and the sauce was cold. The sauce on both enchiladas was absolutely amazing though!! We loved it. We also ordered chips and salsa this time and were definitely not disappointed in the taste. I've been told that their carne asada items are tender and very flavorful. read more

Excellent food but pretty sterile environment, best to order take out. Service was excellent as well...

Food was bland. Our waiter Ethan was friendly and welcoming but food was basic and had little flavor. Cozy little place with cheap drinks (alcohol) around ten dollar each. Alright place but would not go back! read more

I came here thinking this was gonna be some good mexican food and it was not what I was expecting. First off the prices were way too high for the quality and quantity of the food, and second off I ordered a burrito with chicken and steak. It came with maybe 2-3 pieces of chicken and steak and somehow hotdogs got put in my burrito. I mean come on who puts hot dogs in burritos. Overall the meal was just straight up disgusting and unflavored. Safe to say I will not be coming back for more read more

If you are looking for a new family owned authentic Mexican restaurant, I highly recommend Kasita Krec's. I'm so glad I tried this new Mexican restaurant! Very impressed. A family owned (only one) authentic Mexican restaurant with friendly service and a great atmosphere. The owners are always on site, and are interactive with their customers. I ordered the carnitas and it was amazing! $18 for lots of pulled pork, 3 tortillas, 2 sides and the most amazing avocado salsa I have ever had. The food is so fresh and portions are big (leftovers). I definitely recommend this restaurant and will be going back to try more items on their menu. read more

Was excited to try this after reading the reviews - It lived up to all of the reviews, including the bad ones. Service was excellent, most of the food was creative, flavorful and very good. Sans the very bland rice and beans. We had the nachos, barria tacos and steak fajitas. All very good and plenty, including take home leftovers! Will go back! read more

We so wanted to really love this place, but were sorely disappointed and will not go back. Few people there on a Friday night. It took 10 minutes before we saw a waitperson. She took our drink orders, and the Margareta's were great. We expected chips and salsa especially after drink order and then ordering food. Not. When asked, she said there was a charge. I can see if we sat there and sucked down water, but not with a drink order..... I expected maybe $1 or so, but it was $3,99, for chip's and salsa?? Dinner delivered. My enchilada came cold, with cold cheese filling and the sauce was cool and pretty spicy, My Partner had the special, too hot with spice, and served on a croissant? Really? Both of us woke up next morning with nausea and upset stomach. The restaurant has been nicely decorated which included a nice looking cozy bar. read more
