The people working here are nice at 5th Street & Bell Rd El Pollo Loco. I was ok with that. I ordered the 1/2 chicken, as I always do, and the chicken was extremely dry. I went up to the front to tell them about it and the kid working the register didn't seem to care that I wasn't happy with my food. I did tell him that the mashed potatoes and corn were really good, but the chicken was under par. My hubby and I frequent the El Pollo Loco at Greenway & 64th street because the meal is always very good. The bathrooms aren't the greatest at times but the meal is worth the drive. We will not be returning to the 5th street & Bell rd location. I do not recommend this location. read more

The chicken meal is usually a solid choice and was much better than my previous meal here. The breast and wing combo always gets you a very hot breast and usually two warm tortillas to make a few burros. I usually get the mashed potatoes and rice and both are adequate for fast food. Decent food but make sure to come during lunch. I've never had problems with my order in the daytime. If you come at night, they never get your order correct. I picked up dinner from them a few weeks ago, and they didn't include any utensils in the bag. Whoever worked on 03/08/22 at around 9:30PM should find another job. I live 20 minutes away from the closest El Polo Loco and it just pisses me off when people not only they are not doing their job, they mess with others. I ordered the chicken nacho that comes with a drink and chips. He tells me the chicken nacho combo does not come with a drink and I have to read it off the menu to him to realize that it actually does come with a drink .. anyways no problem there .. i ask for 4-5 avocado salsa ... i even told him twice. I go to the window, I pay... and they give me the food and I ask if they put the avocado salsa in there .. he obviously forgot.. then I tell him I need 5... he hands me a bag with some containers and I leave. I get home... in that container only one is avocado salsa and the rest are something else and my whole bowl is drenched in some soup looking shit. Why the f can't we have nice things in this world? Moral of the story.. if you hate your job ... quit... if you need the job that you hate ... do your fuc*ing job. read more

5 Stars for fantastic value, very friendly employees, restaurant was very clean and food was great. My Dad and Brother recommended this location. They raved about the $5 bowl meal and great service, so thought I would check them out. I got the $5 Mexican Caesar Pollo Bowl combination. Came with a bowl loaded with rice, caesar salad, El Pollo Loco's famous chicken, cilantro and tomatoes, plus a drink and choice of chips or tortillas. I choose chips. They have a salsa bar with mild, med and hot sauce plus a guacamole salsa that is worth trying. It also includes jalapeño peppers, minced onions and fresh cilantro. The chicken was perfect and the whole meal more than filled me up. Someone may look at the bowl and say it doesn't look like a lot, but in the end, I couldn't eat it all. Of course, I did visit the salsa bar and loaded up my bowl with tomatoes, onions and cilantro. You won't go wrong by coming here for good food, friendly service and good value. I will be coming back again for sure. Note: Other options include the $1.69 street tacos and the $20 family meal pack. They are both dog gone good. She had a Original chicken bowl and I had two piece breast/wing combo. Both were promptly served up and we enjoyed our lunch. Chicken was moist and flavorful. I am very embarrassed I ate here. So much so I didn't even photograph because anyone would think this was just a hate review. I will start with my iced Tea. I went to the iced tea dispenser and got splashed in the belly with cold iced tea. The manager just laughed when she saw saw iced tea hit me in the stomach but she did wipe it off the floor.... (yeah) I thought the packaged salsa looked better than the salsa bar salsa because the salsa bar salsa looked like it was just frozen tomatoes just brought out. This location is a disaster. The management is absolutely so clueless about customer service it isn't worth getting out of your vehicle. I've contacted both the store and the main customer service getting absolute no feedback or even acknowledgment that there is an issue here. Tacos are not flat tortillas with ingredients piled on top. An order of chips does not consist of four soggy chips. That is what I have received on more than one occasion. One may ask why I continue to give them another chance. The reason would be that i LOVE these tacos when they are tacos and the chips when they are not steamed. I keep hoping that I will get lucky because periodically I do. Today was not one of those days. This is an example (today's fare). It is several tortillas laid at the bottom of a to-go platter, a small pile of chicken, four chips, and a plastic top to seal in the steam ensuring the chips will be soft and lack crunch that is typical of most chips (an American thing) ‍ . The only tacos I've ever seen that required a fork regardless of what you may think about the traditional way to eat a taco. Not today Pollo Loco, not today Since I can't give a new review, I'm downgrading my old review. Apparently they are now offering build your own tacos in the drive-thru. The first picture i posted was a period visit. Today I was given the ingredients for tacos and no utensils with which to assemble them. Had I known this, I would have gone across the street and gotten Taco Bell because while the flavor of el Pollo loco is sublime, I simply cannot assemble my lunch while driving to my next job. My recommendation is for this restaurant to inform customers that they are a vital part of the dining experience before they order so they do not end up missing their lunch break because assembly is not posible OR providing some cutlery to prevent a disaster before the meal.
