There were parties going on, a giant car show and a full bar of people enjoying themselves. This made it loud then they add to it by shouting out numbers over the speaker. We have been going to Mixteca for many years, and I am sad to say that today was officially our last time going back. The first issue is that this MEXICAN restaurant is turning into a INDIAN restaurant. Every single person that I have seen for years in the back was gone. Ordering up front is such a task because the language barrier. The restaurant was messy and the salsa bar was grossly managed. The food was not as flavorful as it used to be. I got cheese enchiladas and the cheese was still hard. The hard tacos tasted like they were fried then left under warmer for a while. We had to clean our own table. It's such a shame, Mixteca was such a nice staple to have in our community. What a horrible experience!! So i went there for lunch. The gal at the register was noticeably on drugs which made ordering a challenge we decided to take our food to go but stopped at the salsa bar and got a small tray of chips. Which i thought was included. Lol it wasn't! Most Mexican restaurants give you chips nonetheless i paid for chips but since i had gotten chips in my bags. The gal got really upset saying she had to see how many chips were in the bag. I told her its just a few and she made a big scene in was truly embarrassed. Even though i paid for a bag of chips i told her to keep them. The other people were all staring. And several came to me and apologized for her behavior. I will never return. We didn't dine in, we went through the drive through, but our experience with staff was very nice, customer service was good and quick. Price was about average, which is too high, but not above normal in the current market. But the food, all anyone was saying between bites was how good the food was! I've eaten here a couple times and I'll have to say they have the best salsa and chips bar just serve yourself which is nice and with so many options of salsa it is great this time I ended up getting the carne asada burrito which was really good definitely a place to stop by especially if you like chips and salsa. This is not the same place (or owners?) it used to be. Food was expensive, bland and not authentic like I remember it used to be. Not in this part of town too often, but I remember we enjoyed stopping here for real Mexican food. We ordered a carne asada burrito and a pollo taco. My burrito had tiny Sysco type pieces of meat with canned beans and a tiny portion of guacamole with watery salsa. My wife's taco was bland cubed chicken, no lettuce no cheese, no taste. What a shock to take home and find out this was not the quality Mexican food we used to get. Tasted like gringo food.Cannot recommend this place. read more

Since new owners have taken over this place has been declining. Prices are up and portions are down. This had been a family favorite for years. We would go and pick up large orders consistently with no issues. I was there recently and attended counter placed a 139.00 order. They bring it up and then flip a computer screen that begs for a tip. Funny how usually asking for a tip means you sat down and someone served you. Here they have the nerve to ask for a tip for just ringing up your food. No service involved just running up your food. TIP stands for To Insure Proper service. Here they beg for a tip before you even have your order and no service given. I asked the manager who rang me up to please ensure my order was correct and I will gladly tip , so I added 18.00 to my order. I was handed bags , I tipped so that I would not have to open the bags to see if everything was in there. Drive 45 minutes home and had 8 people waiting to eat. There were no chips and I had ordered the bag with salsa. The green chili beef quart for a huge price had ZERO MEAT IN IT. I tried calling at that time to let them know the order was incorrect and the phone rang off of the hook the next day I called and spoke with the same manager that rang me up and he told me he would have to check the cameras. Check the cameras? Would you be able to have seen inside the brown bags? Would I lie? How ridiculous, he was rude and then told me to call back after he checked the cameras. I insisted on getting at least the tip back and nothing was done. When I did call back he was again rude. New ownership will not be business long with rude service and lower quality food. First timer! When we arrived it was a calm setting. They have lots of things to choose from. Love how you can serve yourself chips and salsa and it was good salsa too let me tell you! Customer service was okay the girl seemed irritated when we asked what was all in the nachos. Which I understand we should've spent more time reading the menu.. but overall the food was tasty! One of my favorite taco Tuesday places in the valley. Great order counter taco joint that also has a patio and a bar. Prices are great but more importantly the staff is friendly and the street tacos are bomb! I love the fish and carne asada. And don't forget the free chips, salsa and taco extra toppings bar. Only thing I don't love is their tap system, beer is never that cold and always tastes flat. Still a must go!!! read more

Ordered take out last Saturday, did not receive all our food and the fish tacos we ordered we indicated flour tortillas but something is wrong with your website when you pick flour it inputs no tortilla so we got tacos with no tortillas...I am sorry I added a tip. I called as soon as I got home was told "next time you come in you can have a free carne asada tostada that we forgot to give" no I want a refund...for the $9 . Also tried to explain the issue with your website he would not even listen. In the end I was promised a call back "when he looked into it" said he would call that night of course that never happened. A $60 to go order and that's how you are treated at this point I feel like we should get a refund for the food we did not get..the wrong food given due to your website (yes I went back in and recreated the order it is a issue with your website) and the tip, I know that won't happen so instead will not return and leave a review. Holy crap what a waste of money!! I got a Carne Asada burrito, which was all beans and itsy-bitsy pieces of Carne Asada. I also got a shrimp burrito, which is rice burrito with like six Shrimp. Fantastic salsa and chip bar including carrots, jalapenos, cilantro, onions. Can't figure out the poor reviews. Prices are very fair. You have the options to order at the counter and seat yourself, sit at the bar or go into the dining room or patio for service. Live music on weekends. Salsa bar has a big variety and worth dining in if you have time. Nice patio, but is close to a very busy main road. Sometimes the wait is long, but it truly is worth it. I took my son and his girlfriend here for dinner. They like this place but I consider it average fare. You order at the counter and grab a seat until your order is called. The place seems cramped and it was noisy. The employees we dealt with don't smile or give the impression they appreciate the business. The serving size is plentiful but the food was average. On mornings I don't feel quite right (which is more the older I get) I head here for the Huevos Rancheros. I think it's the combination of fried potatoes, beans, eggs, Ranchero sauce and tortillas. It's solid and tasty. Their Ranchero sauce is the best anywhere. Tomatoes, onions, green pepper and Jalapeno is perfect. The service is always friendly and quick. A herd (14 guys) of Aps workers hit them all at once yesterday and they all had their food within 5 minutes. The ambiance is comfortable but sparce. The location couldn't be easier with plenty of parking. Must be something medicinal in the Ranchero sauce, because I always feel much better after. read more

My family are regulars we have always been treated with kindness. Today I was in the drive and what I witnessed was absolutely unacceptable. I just want to say your workers are amazing and deserve so much respect. Today a horrible lady from California screamed and berated one of your amazing staff members. She called the worker a slur and then after getting a reaction from the worker the lady proceeded to record or take pictures of your workers. Then she just sat at the window. This was my first time here as one of my friends suggested we meet up there for taco Tuesday This place is located next to the gas station in a large plaza near Living Spaces and Chucky Cheese. Good news is parking is not going to be an issue. They have an inside outside patio which is nice as you can utilize it during both winter and summer months. There is a small bar in the corner near the patio. The bartender seemed to be socializing with regulars. I'm giving this place 2 stars as the quality of the food was unsatisfactory. I got 6 chicken tacos and all of them were dry. In addition, one of the fish tacos wasn't edible as it was rubbery and not edible at all. The carnitas were borderline but lacked flavor. We were able to trade and switch the tacos for bean burritos after some back and forth with the staff. Another patron also asked for a fresh batch of tacos as his chicken was dry as well.
