This was our first time visiting El Pollo Loco, even though we have almost eaten here in multiple states. This time, we decided to try them right before our flight. We ordered food via the large screen in the restaurant, and our food came out efficiently. Their salsa and other condiments were awesome, and my crunchy taco was definitely unique. Being of South Asian descent, the shell reminded me of two papads cooked in the shape of a taco and with everything that would go in a taco. This was good and definitely filling. Considering I was at "El Pollo Loco", I was curious about how crazy the chicken was. I was highly disappointed. They claim the chicken is marinated in citrus and spices, but the chicken was flavorless and depressing. I've had rotisserie chicken at Sams Club which had 10 times more flavor. Grabbed a quick lunch from El pollo loco in El segundo on my way to work. Double chicken tostada is a go to for me. The line moves quickly and the staff are efficient. Taking your order at the counter, and preparing it for the diners. The only real drawback to this location is that there's an In-N-Out in the same parking lot so parking and traffic are usually challenging. Prices are reasonable, especially considering that you're only a few blocks away from LAX. You frequently see LAX employees eating or ordering to go from here. read more

The food was served hot, fresh, and filled with flavor. The staff were courteous and gave good recommendations for both food and salsas. I would come here again in a heartbeat and plan to whenever I am in the area! The music was weird mix of classic 50's and 60's ballads and pop that gave me hard #Fallout New Vegas vibe. The tables were constantly being bussed and cleaned by a cheery staff member and the front counter line was not too long of a wait. Ordering was easy, as the cashier was both competent and polite. This is a great El Pollo Loco and I highly recommend them for either brunch or lunch as they have a great selection of quick and delish foods! We went to this El Pollo Loco this evening for dinner, intending to dine in. The moment we opened the door, we were overwhelmed by a foul sewer smell that filled the entire restaurant. It was honestly nauseating and made the place feel extremely unclean and unwelcoming. We mentioned the odor to the manager, and while they acknowledged it, there didn't seem to be any urgency or surprise--almost like it was something they were used to. That was even more concerning. Because we were already there and hungry, we decided to order our food to-go, but the entire experience left a bad taste in our mouths--long before we even got our food. I went here yesterday early afternoon while I was waiting for a rider to pick up from an international flight. It was different and closer to LAX than my normal place I would usually wait at. These chicken tacos did not disappoint, and I love the medium spice green salsa I put on them as well as the red mild tomato no spice salsa that used on the tacos and dipped my chips! To drink, I had the Pomegranate Açai vitamin water. I love that flavor, so I didn't drink soda. The combo meal was only $7.92 with tax, which is economical these days . I order a platter of burritos pretty regularly and not only has the food ALWAYS been great, but I usually call to ask them to cut my burritos in half and every person I have spoken to is kind and courteous. Never again. This place sucks ass. I order a chipotle burrito with churros. First, they took for ever to give me my food. Everyone after me got their food but ME. The girl said they threw away the ticket so I waited for them to make it. When I got the burrito it wasn't what I ordered. I took that shit right back in there and threw it on the counter. Places named "El Something" for Mexican food in SoCal - 2 of 2 I really came to like El Pollo Loco over the years, coming to know them in NorCal rather than in their native SoCal. Blame it on the coupons. And the great scent of their grilling that I'd savor while driving by the one closest to me. Admittedly, I didn't go in regularly. I went in when I got coupons. But, with no mail box in SoCal, I just went in and the one I visited was the one in El Segundo, just south of LAX. Something dawned on me immediately. I was looking at the menu board and trying to find things like I'd ordered in past years. I liked to get several small taquitos - or similar Mexican food item - and dip them in the milder salsa and/or guacamole. The young lady working there said that she heard this observation from several customers, but that the El Pollo Loco menu had changed. There was more "expensive" stuff, relatively speaking, and I didn't feel like pulling apart a whole chicken or anything like that, as well as nominally priced side items. She was able to locate a series of tacos on the menu that I had with the sauces I liked in the past. This El Pollo Loco location is modern and clean, given that it's the South Bay and caters to rocket scientists and others associated with aerospace or running LAX and ancillary businesses during the day, and the service was pleasant and understanding - she sensed my frustration at not knowing what to order. The food itself was fine, or better than fine. However, I do not like the current spread of the menu where the mid-priced packaging of Mexican items I ate in the past doesn't seem to be there anymore. read more

This El Pollo Loco is still on my lunch rotation because of the proximity to my work. This ELP in a store front and it does not have a drive thru like most ELP. I usually frequent this location with my coworkers either before beginning of our shift or for lunch time. The staff member Kanya is very attentive she remembers our name when placing an our order. They remodeled adding bright colors booths with more trendy look. They changed the music to mostly 50's. Music does not match the new trendy look. I like the new look however, I'm not a fan of the music at all. I recently sign up for their App and now receive their digital 5.00 deals; which is a 2 Chicken piece meal with 2 side. I usually get the broccoli and salad. I'm not able have their Mexican rice anymore. El Pollo Loco is a good hearty fast food the chicken is grilled not fried they have other options like salad with of course chicken. It can get really busy during lunch time hours and because of the proximity to LAX there's a lot of blue color here. TSA blue, Chevron blue , FED EX well you get the point. As vegans my sister Annie and niece Chanel don't normally go to restaurants like El Pollo Loco but they do offer a Pollo bowl which is really good and if you ask them to take out the chicken and replace it with avocado is actually vegan and really tasty. It's not that the food here is bad, it's just a place you don't usually think of when thinking of a place to go for lunch. If I were to come to this shopping center, I'd rather go to Petit Cafe. Once I found a table, it took a short time to get my food and they brought it to me with a friendly smile. The salad comes with lettuce, chicken, rice, beans, sour cream and a touch of pico de gallo. I also got some of the cilantro dressing, to give it a little more pizzaz. I have to say that there really isn't much to this salad and very little chicken was sitting on top.
