They run out of everything by 4pm I live down the street every single time I go I end up sitting in the drive through for 25mins just to be told we don't have breast,thigh,avacoda,fajitas ect you name it they don't have it. An this on the regular not sometime all the time. They also need more or faster employees you'll sit in the same spot for about 8mins per car so if there's more then 4-5 cars in front of you just go inside or find another place to eat. read more

I've been coming here since they opened. I am pretty much a drive thru customer. Customer service in drive thru is decent. I've never had a problem. However, tonight my mom and I decided to go inside because we had a large order. There was just a few families there. But the customer service was outstanding. The cashier repeated the order correctly and gave my mom the senior discount when asked. While we were getting our salsa together, one of the workers offered the large containers. He also asked us if we needed any plates and such. When we were leaving, we got have a nice days from three employees. Good Job El Pollo Loco employees! I literally sat in the drive through for 30 minutes before getting to the drive through speaker. Once at the speaker the lady asked how am I and what would I like to order. I said my order and then no one spoke back to me for 5 minutes after saying hello like ten times. The same thing happened to person behind me. If you have read any of my reviews, then you know how I feel about certain establishments in Compton. It is either a hit or a complete miss. Well since this is our go to El Pollo right off the freeway close to home we frequent here a lot. I am actually very pleased with this one, the service is great, people are friendly, food is hot and fresh, and place is always clean. My favorite thing on menu is their stuffed quesadillas, lots of chicken and avocado, it's very good. Also love the churros. My only gripe is I wish they had bigger containers for the salsa, it is so annoying to wait for a person who is feeding a family of 30 to fill up 60 small containers of salsa when I'm only trying to get 2. 1. They did not open on time. They're supposed to open at 10am, and didn't open until about 10:04am. 2. I didn't receive my food in a timely matter. It took over 20 minutes to receive my order. 3. When I did receive my order, they didn't give us the tortillas it came with. It took an additional 10 minutes to receive those after asking for them 3 times. 4. There was a long strand of hair in my food. I asked for a refund and the cashier Audriann gave me an attitude as if it was my fault. I don't see how I was the first customer and so many things were wrong with my order. I frequent here often being that I work in the area, but I will never return to this location ever again. They just lost a loyal customer. It was pretty dirty at this location. I had a coupon this week as did everyone else. The wait was close to 20 minutes and they ran out of salad at one point. An employee brought some in after I had placed my order. We were allowed to substitute two sides for the salads on the special. Food here is standard and nothing special. I was really grossed out by how many people let their kids play with the containers and food items in the salsa bar. They dropped containers and put them back, or the spoons. Maybe this should not be open to the public and should be provided upon request by employees. read more

I go to this spot because well there's no other near by but oh my god.....the quality of their service always fluctuates. I have had luck to always order before the line gets too long but they are so understaffed or at least have employees who don't wanna help out. The lines are always long, only one cashier , one making the chicken and the others messing around. All but two have horrible attitudes , specifically a lady named jennifer. When she's at the cashier she's so slow , always needs assistance, and gets an order wrong whether from me or not. She has the worst attitude of them all, can even look at you in the eye. Oh and the place is dirty (seating area) , trash gets full, salsa bar a mess or not filled until someone mentions it. I understand it gets busy but this is almost every time I go. This location is much better than the one o Downey and Artesia. This store takes out all the core for their salads. It's just the greatest thing. So much better than having to fend through a whole bowl and remove these difficult to eat pieces. They listen when you give the order and don't bombard you with unnecessary questions. I eat here 2 - 3 times a week. I only live a block from the store that I visit the least. Management should probably be looked at too. read more

Generally go in to get food for work functions. 5-10 people worth of food. Usually a couple of their family meals. Long wait on family meals. You would think when you order that much food to go, you would provide eating utensils, plates ands napkins. No. The first couple of times I had to manage the process, direct them, have them pack utensils, plates, napkins and salsa. The last time I forgot. No plates, utensils, or napkins. I want to start this review off with saying El Pollo Loco is a great restaurant, it is the people who run it that need to be rated. In this case on 4/17/18 @ or around 6pm, me, my husband, and kids drove to this particular one because there is a Jamba Juice near by. When we arrived the line for the drive thru was already long, we waited patiently, Audry/Audriana who took our order was rude, we kept our composure, and when we gave her a 100 bill she gave us the incorrect change and told us she cannot give us our money or just cancel the whole order.She shut the window on us, we were then harassed by an officer eating his lunch (him Caucasian- us African Amer.) THANK GOD someone was recording or I probably would have been killed over Audry and her poor customer service skills. She tried to prove she was not over, instead prove that she is missing 6$ from her drawer. So that is proof you already started your shift off unbalanced and used my money to cover up your mistakes. Drive thru took forever! I went a 7pm, they close at 10 and they only had tortilla soup for one large serving. The soup was literally all liquid, barely any chicken or tortillas. Tosada salad was terrible. The tostada was stale. They didn't have ranch dressings. The outside was filthy. There was a bra and underwear outside of the dirty drive thru window. This is the worst el pollo loco in Compton. Beware. They never get the order right because they don't focus. Need higher quality people working. After waiting for almost 25 minutes to get thru the drive-thru they have gotten my order WRONG 3 times now. I do not want to go there anymore. They really need to do something about this because the people working there don't care. Food is always good when they do get it right. Just beware and check your food order before you leave.
