Been here a few times before but never gave a review. Was just here this last Saturday evening. Found parking with no problem. Made an order online, no issues. Waited for about 10 mins before going inside. Restaurant appeared to be clean. It was quiet with a few folks placing orders at the kiosks. My order was ready for pick about 2 mins later. No issues with receiving my order. The young lady was nice and professional. I ordered something quick, the $7.99 Meal Deal. It's worth the price. Food was cool, nothing spectacular. I never write reviews but after many time going to this pollo loco it has really fallen off in service. I asked for no pico and it's written on the receipt and they still add pico. Having a fast food background during high school and college. It seems to me that this location is understaffed and the employers are struggling to keep up. That being said, there's no sense of being welcomed, acknowledged and the chicken wasn't warm, although the sides were right on. At the end of my lunch visit, around 1pm. The restaurant sounded like a construction zone, with the butchering of the bird with the cleaver or the constant arranging of the lobby chairs by a crew member. This place has went down ever since my last couple visits , the general manager Juan was helping me on the kiosk and he seemed absolutely overwhelmed during the lunch hour. I ordered 4 chicken tortilla soups at the drive thru and didnt verify there was NO small containers of the queso /cilantro that i am accustomed to getting and no tortillas as well. Jonathan is the best thing that could of happened to this El Polo Loco. He's the cook, but every time I go in there at lunch time, he's gives great Customer Service . Sad. Just sad. In a pandemic environment we live you would think that restuarants would have the highest level standard of cleanliness and sanitation. Not this one. You walk in and first thing you see is crumbs on the floor and a sticky floor, that's just entering the shop. Wait till you walk in the dining area. Fountain soda machine obviously haven't been sanitized for some time. There's a sanitation bucket left next to the horchata machine. So maybe they attempted to clean and then just forgot. Tables haven't been sanitized after each customer. Chairs and tables are filthy with left over crumbs and spilled drinks. There's no excuse for why staff isn't cleaning. Wanting some house salsa and creamy cilantro, I tried to get the drive thru attendants attention, but she was pre-occupied. Then I tried to get the managers attention, who looked right at me when I waved my hand to flag her down. She turned away. Just for them to not have corn, Mac n cheese, flour tortillas only corn tortillas but they didn't put corn tortillas or even cilantro sauce for my burnt cold double chicken tostada. 3 pieces felt like it was microwave warm. Top of that they gave me a spoon, who the heck eat their salad with a spoon? Top management needs to clean house here. I counted over 4 employees thru the drive window who just standing there watching the rear of the store.
