This place is lonely for a reason. So I decided to give it a chance. If no star was an option I would select that. Just because this is in Compton it doesn't mean it should be this bad. My husband and I ordered the chicken tostadas and it had very little chicken. My husband was so upset he requested to exchange his meal for something else. I wonder why they're so stingy with the chicken? Restaurants are so wasteful with food. I can only imagine all the chicken they throw away at the end of the day. The first time I ordered for home delivery (last January 2023) for a family meal that costs over $60 the chicken was bloody and undercooked. Although El Pollo Loco corporate reimbursed me for the meal with a gift card, I didn't post a review and thought it was just a one-time incident. Later about 3 months after I thought I would try this restaurant ordered online for home delivery a shredded chicken quesadilla for my 7 yr. old grandson and a double chicken tostado salad for me. My chicken tostado salad had very little lettuce, about 1 teaspoon of cheese & a lot of Pico de Gallo along with 5 cubes of chicken. There was no beans, rice, avocado slices or sour cream. I then got pissed when I saw that the chicken quesadilla only had some cheese in it!!! So, after the third time of the online order of July 9, 2023, that was terrible I try a fourth time to patronize this restaurant. On Sept 20th, 2023 I'm shopping with a friend where this ElPollo Loco store is located, and my friend wanted to eat there so we walked over. In the past I have only ordered online so this would be my first time physically going inside and again give this store another try, so I ordered another chicken tostada salad. Well, the only items in the small tortillas bowl were a little lettuce, a sprinkle of cheese, a glob of Pico de Gallo. That's it!!! So my personal observation and opinions are: 1.That either the staff (all young) are not trained on the menu to prepare and serve the El Pollo Loco food items 2: They have an owner and/or manager instructing them skimp on the items & quality for profit and greed and/or 3: The owner can afford to not care about the quality of the food and service and let his restaurant be run by inept staff. The good side of this is I know I will never patronize this particular restaurant again . I gave them yet a third try. I waited an extra long time in the drive thru with only 3 cars ahead of me. I ordered a 4 piece meal with 2 legs and 2 breasts. I was told they only had thighs and legs, additionally I was told they only had corn tortillas. This was at 4 PM in the afternoon not near closing time. I decided to leave and not get anything. A month or so ago I was faced with the similar situation. That time the chicken was very dry as if it had been sitting out for a long time. The time before that which was about 3 months prior I was told I needed exact change or a card, because they did not have any change. This location has the worst chicken and service. The delivery person actually apologized for the long delay. I ordered the chicken tostada no cheese with no dressing and avocado salsa. And a taco no cheese. I received the tostada the shell was soft, salad had no sliced avocado,with the dressing, and no salsa at all. The taco had cheese all through it. I came here on a Sunday, the place was a mess. I am not sure if they are understaffed or the management sucks or both. The seating area was so dirty, you would not even want to eat in. They were also out of their avocado sauce, or so we thought. There was at least 5 customers asking and waiting for a new batch and they did not bring out any. A customer ahead of us complained and the employee gave them pre packed sauce (I guess what they use for drive thru orders) but refused to give out any to anyone who would ask unless you complained. Worst El Pollo Loco I have ever been to. This particular location is extremely slow on getting orders out. I placed my order at 6:55pm and it was not ready until 7:31pm. My order was not that difficult. 1 Ranchero Burrito, 2 Classic Crunchy Tacos, 1 Classic Salad, and a 3-Piece Chicken Combo Meal. That took over 30 minutes to get out. When I politely asked one of their employees if my order was almost ready, she rolled her eyes and started asking the cooks if it was ready.
