He was doing his best, but he clearly has not mastered the English language yet. This made ordering quite difficult. I ordered a half chicken meal. The chicken was very dry, to the point of being difficult to eat. There was no moisture in this chicken. The prices were extremely expensive. The restaurant itself was clean. It's a fast food chain and you kinda expect the same old stuff. I tried some new their fancy corn chicken shrimp salad. I happy (I'm a salad guy, love them). The staff were speaking something, which gets your attention. BUT I have never seen staff cleaning everything like this place. The restaurant was very clean the staff spending time cleaning walls, windowsills, and places normally ignored. The visible kitchen area clean and shiny too. I ordered on Uber, and when I arrived, the nice server was packing up everything for me, and greeted me with food with a big smile. The inside is clean and bright. I took it home and everything was packed nicely inside with lots of napkins and extra sauce. The chicken was delicious and lean. It was grilled to perfection and so flavorful. Big Bear has become a rather expensive place to eat. Gone, it seems, is a $10 entree. Replaced in so many restaurants with an $18 or $25 entree. I'm not trying to be a tightwad but spending $100 per meal for our family of four is just a bit much. So I was looking forward to El Pollo Loco and a more reasonably priced dinner. They delivered there. Dinner was about $50. But we head into the dining room to choose a table and EVERY SINGLE ONE is covered in food. The one over there has a sticky drink slowly evaporating on it. The one a little closer is covered with random take-out detritus. The restaurant's empty so we can sit anywhere we please. We choose a location we like but have to take the first several minutes to wet down several napkins and vigorously scrub the random gummy rubble off the table and seats. We take a closer look and realize that not only are all the trashcans full but there are food bits and random trash underneath every table too. And we discover that every single fire sprinkler has been illegally festooned with decorations for Christmas. A holiday that took place two months ago. We get our meal and though it's perfectly edible it's dry and missing that delicious flavor you can get if you treat chicken right. We wrap up and as we leave we're flabbergasted to see the cooks busily throwing a couple dozen chickens on the grill. Wouldn't a better use of that manpower be to vigorously scrub down the dining room??? But then I realized. They have to have some dry, overcooked chicken available for their customers tomorrow. I contacted the corporate office per the business customer service associate's suggestion, and no one got back to me. Why am I not surprised? Based off of all these poor reviews, I hope someone does something about this place before someone gets seriously ill. Chicken needs to be kept at a certain temperature before and after cooking to remain edible and safe. If this is a franchise, someone needs to see what sort of negativity is coming from this place, not just by me, but the others who have had issues here. This is why you should never get into franchising. If someone is not providing quality service at the one location, the experience transfers to all locations. I will probably never eat at a El Pollo Loco again, I'd have to be loco! read more

I just got some food here Monday, April 10 around 5pm I bought a large drink.. their drinking fountain wasn't working.. didn't tell me. They were able to get my drink from the fountain at the drive through I got beans and they tasted on the verge of going bad.. they had a slight smell and taste to them.
