Three different servers saw us, gave us dirty looks, and walked past. One of them rudely said, "why are you waiting here?" and walked away. Finally, we stopped an employee to ask if they would be able to seat our party. They bluntly told us we'd need to wait outside. We left, seeing that they clearly did not want to host us. Other restaurants were booked up for the night, so after walking around the village, we came back. They finally sat us at a large table outside. Our main waiter was friendly and helpful. The only decent service of the night. Another plus was food did not take too long, but the dishes were nothing worth returning for. The staff who came to take plates spoke to us with an irritated attitude. Not sure if the poor service had to do with the diversity in our group, but it sure felt like it. Not a positive experience in the slightest.

We were initially told that they would be able charger per table... and we went in setting the tone based on set expectations. We were informed that management had requested everything to be on one bill... not split per table. Now based on numbers it would have made ZERO difference if everything was split up with cost and tax... so it was really disappointing. I had not been able to eat yet but I ended up Having to get the check, go to each table , tally what each table ordered and then calculate what that tables total cost was. Then I took the tax percentage and added that to each amount and then each person went up to pay that amount. In the end we made sure everything was covered and we do appreciate the hosting of the party but I think as a business you would want to stick to set expectations and not need to see a big bill if it makes no difference in cost. I wanted to give you 5 stars but I could not based on having to do what I did for the check and not being able to eat my food because of it. On our visit to Big Bear we ordered pizza from Maggio's not one, not two, but three times!!! We were there for 5 weeks, so don't judge. From the moment they answered the phone it was like chatting with an old friend taking my order (this happened every time). The atmosphere is so incredibly friendly and welcoming it makes you want to stay a while and make friends. We ordered large pepperoni, cheese and mushroom pizzas as well as a Cesar salad and it was all delicious. The pizzas were huge and the sauce, ingredients and bake of the pies had our tastebuds dancing a happy dance. Prices are more than reasonable, we fed our family of 4 for $30 and it was good! Next time we come to town we will have to try all the other specialties on the menu. I highly recommend Maggio's for the food, ambiance, and the service. When we sat down, we came back up to get our drinks, and there was a young man at the drink station who was very polite willing to help with anything we needed. We went back and sat down after a few minutes. Our pizza was delivered by the same young man. He was very attentive asking if we needed anything. And went back to the front of the drink station. He immediately bust and clean tables as they became available and checked on people periodically. There was another young man there with him. There is a huge difference between pizza cooked and a pizza oven and pizza cooked on a conveyor belt. The pizza had a crisp bottom crust which always sets pizza apart.
