I don't like the fact that I have to put a star on here! I asked for chili con queso and the meat was raw. I ordered the 3 taco plate and the waitress brought the 4 mini taco plate. When I told her that's not what I ordered she walked away! My granddaughter ordered the cheese enchilada plate with red sauce and the sauce looked like tomato paste! Her food was cold too! My sister order the mini taco plate and no onions because she's allergic to them! And they smothered it with onions!! Our bill for 2 plates and 3 drinks was over $50 the food was crap, the service was crap, and the customer service environment was crap!! I had heard good things about this place from friends of mine, so we decided to make the half hour drive from Temple to give them a try. And I must say that we weren't disappointed. This is one of those little family run places that doesn't dazzle you from the outside, but once you step inside you feel like you are indeed at someone's home to enjoy a good meal. And I've often found that these are usually the best places to patronize. We were greeted with a smile, and told that we could sit wherever we'd like to. Our server, and I wish I would've got her name, was a sweetheart. Even as busy as they were on a Sunday afternoon she made regular checks on us to insure that we were taken care of. And I'll say this with no exaggeration, this was one of those most satisfying and enjoyable meals that we have ever had. I had my go to dish which is Bistec Ranchero. I judge all Mexican Restaurants by how well they make this, and I have to say that this was hands down the best I've ever had. Nice sized pieces of beef seasoned to perfection with grilled tomatoes, onions and jalapeños. Add some nice homemade tortillas and it doesn't get much better. My wife loved her shrimp and chicken fajita plate which was brought out on a sizzling platter and cooked to perfection. And another thing that impressed us was the young man, and I don't know if he was the Chef or the owner, made a couple of stops by our table to make sure we were enjoying our meal. That rarely happens at most places. So to sum it up, this is a FANTASTIC little restaurant in Jarrell Texas that puts out some awesome food. Like I said earlier, it's a half hour drive for us, but after our experience today, I see it being one that we'll make regularly. read more

The people are so nice here and went above and beyond for the first time I ordered from them. I placed an online order for curbside pick up. So I was getting ready to go pick up my order and realized I've misplaced my car keys. I called to explain my delay and a nice woman offered to deliver my order if I still hadn't found my keys in 15 minutes, she called me back before the time was up and asked for my address. I'm new to this area and hospitality is one of the reasons I chose to leave Dallas. The food was good and they even blessed me with chips, salsa, and queso. Great Mexican food at a fantastic price. I usually order fajitas and can make 3 fat tacos with what is on the plate. Other restaurants charge much more for enough meat for 2 skinny tacos. There aren't many restaurants in Jarrell but this one is a true gem! It's a bit of a hole in the wall place but I've found these are often the best places to eat good food. On my visit I ordered the Beef Enchiladas. The plate came with rice & charro beans (or refrained). The food was incredible. I can't remember the last time I had rice & beans that were this good. I don't know if this place is going out of business but I order their loaded nachos minus the pico and got queso cheese instead of the melted cheese. Checked my food when it was done and they put queso cheese over 8 tortilla chips with no meat!!! Needless to say I didn't accept it and ran out of there. No not me, not for $13 bucks... if you order from here please check your food before you leave!!! SO I LEFT RIGHT AND THEY STILL TRIED TO CHARGE MY CARD!!!
