Their food is good. It is a little on the bland side but still has good flavor. I tried using their hot sauce. But it was so spicy it burned my taste buds off. The kind that's so spicy you can't taste the flavor, but it just grows in your mouth I would recommend bringing a little container of your favorite salsa or chile sauce from home. That's what I do. Celebrated Cinco De Mayo with a to go order. This has been our go to for a bit now. I always get the chimichanga plate with carnitas. Delicious!! You get your choice of meat so you can change it up. 1st time here. It's been on my list for a while, just haven't made it over. Delicious! My only negative is the same everywhere in Oregon. They don't make Chile Rellenos properly. I always ask, so wasn't disappointed. The hard taco with potato filling and cheese enchilada with red sauce was amazing! I'll be back to try other things. Oh! And the horchata is nice and flavorful. We ordered an array of food so I'll rate below :) Chorizo Burrito - 4/5 - it tasted good although somehow not very authentic (per H) Fish Burrito - 4/5 - good response from the person who ate it however he is a man of few words Chicken Burrito - 4/5 - again commented that it was very good, but no raving review Veggie Taquitos - 5/5! I wouldn't call it veggie since it was a taquito with beans and potatoes but damn it was delicious! Taco Salad - 5/5 - for H, he loved it. Now...I am not Mexican, nor Mexican-American, but I did grow-up in East LA, CA, so I have been lucky to have had some really great Mexican food. We've had some trouble finding good, authentic Mexican food here in Eugene, and so far...this is the closest we can find. It is family-owned and the people are very sweet and generous. I absolutely love this place. I had the Machaca (Steak) Breakfast Burrito. It was delicious and it was huge, for a great price of $5.25! I absolutely love this place, and the fact they have an espresso machine also. I had the Iced Caramel Nut which was also great. This family run restaurant truly makes everything with love. I didn't expect to find horchata, though that seems to be an increasingly common drink in Latinx restaurants. That was just part of the fun. I ordered some solidly middle of the road standbys, beef fajitas and a wet burrito with salsa verde. The portions for both were significant, and the verde had enough zing to it to be interesting. Even the tortilla that came on the side with the fajitas was substantial, and the whole order -- medium and large horchatas plus two meals -- totaled just over $22. I am a wet burrito junky and it is my drug of choice. After viewing the pictures on yelp with some options. I was transfixed on the wet burrito with both red and green sauce. So I trekked from Eugene to Springfield to get my fix. The place was easy to find and was quite busy when we arrived. I quickly ordered my wet burrito and the staff was extremely friendly. To my surprise the burrito was their Wednesday special and was only$6.95, such a great deal. The food quickly arrived and it was visually pleasing to the eye. Everything about it was great. Both sauces, red and green, were amazing and was elevated with the green salsa in the bottles they provide. The red salsa was not quite up to par. El Pique piqued my interest when it was recommended by Eugene Cash Mob. I was worried it would be a little too piquante for my two kids to really enjoy, but we were feeling brave and went for it. The recommendations were just too glowing to pass it up! But if I'm really honest, hearing news about the possibility of a "Taco truck on every corner" is what really got me in the mood for some good, authentic Mexican cuisine. Sadly, even with as high of a Hispanic population as we have in Eugene/Springfield, we are nowhere near a taco truck on every corner. It's going to take hard work, dedication, and the kind of funding that could possibly come from each current restaurant branching out into a chain of mobile trucks, each vying for supremacy on its own corner. I, personally, am especially looking forward to "Taco Truck Wars," sure to be the next Food Network hit! The food was decent. Stopped by there on a whim to grab a bite and do some paperwork on my lunch break while in Springfield. The staff was very helpful and accommodating, the wet burrito special was a hefty portion. A wet chili verde burrito that was tender and flavorful. The warm tortilla chips and salad were gladly welcomed as I love sopping up the gooey cheese and sauce with both sides. I could of done without the political banter going on in the seating area but that is not a reflection of the food or service just some of the customers. Green was nicely mild and red was nicely hot! The burrito itself had an excellent balance of textures and was dripping (for me, that's a great thing... can't stand a dry burrito). When we visited, the employees seemed friendly and welcoming. The prices aren't bad at all. I would say they're priced fairly. They have quite a bit of things on their menu, so I'm sure there is something for everyone. As you can see from the pictures, we ordered the tacos and the burritos. The flavor was good but there is definitely room for improvement. Would I recommend this place to someone? Yes! But I wouldn't hype it up as many people do. So the burrito tasted ok and the staff was friendly. The big problem I have is rice. I got a supreme fish burrito. No joke was 3/4 rice. There was about as much other toppings for 1 taco. I dont like rice anyway but I can deal. No where on the menu does it even say it has rice. I dont want someone charging me 7 dollars for a burrito filled to the brim with filler rice.
