The mystical burger that has always alluded me... That's how I felt about the EPN burger until last Sunday. They have built up a brilliant hype, so much so that people almost speak in hushed tones about when the next pop up event will be and how quickly it will sell out. I kept wanting to go, but always seemed to have something else on at the time but the wait is now over and I can finally tell you about one of the best burgers available in Glasgow.
The menu is short, very short in fact. 3 burgers available and each come with chips. I actually quite liked the smaller range of choices as it made selection pretty easy for me. I saw the Top Dog came with truffle mayo on the size, double bacon and Roquefort cheese and I was immediately SOLD! The burger did not let me down, it was quite possibly one of the best burgers I have ever tasted and it is definitely in the same league as the Caley Burger from the Legends that are BMB. What made it so good? It was the juiciness of the overall burger, the saltiness of the bacon, the AMAZING taste of the Roquefort cheese. The whole things was bloody superb. When you add in that the fries were cooked to perfection. Crunchy and perfectly seasoned. The truffle mayo was brilliant to. I love mayo with chips and this was definitely a first rate version. All sounds like a 5 star review, right? Just on taste it would be, but there were a couple of grips. We had to wait over 30 mins for our food... Price wise £13.50 seems pretty expensive compared to what you can get elsewhere, especially when you see that the portion of fries is quite small IMO . Final thing is I also tried Trudie M's NYC burger and was very much less impressed. It seemed pretty dry and disappointing compared to mine. Unfortunately these 3 things mean I will only give 4 stars. That said, I would say don't be put off, book up, try the Top Dog and I think you will be very very impressed with the taste of your burger. read more
