This restaurant has excellent service, food, and it has a great atmosphere. Love this place

My wife and I were on our way to New Orleans from Fort Worth and looking for a place to stop for a break and a bite to eat. Natchitoches, LA was the next town coming up and I started checking Yelp reviews in the area. El Patio, which had solid reviews, looked like an easy off and on from the Interstate plus there was a gas station in close proximity. It was perfect place for us to stop, stretch our legs and get a bite to eat. When we walked in the decor of the restaurant was a feast for the eyes. The chairs and tables were painted with bright colors and designs. It looks like Fiesta Time all the time. Victor, our server greeted us and took our drink orders. No margaritas, but a big glass of unsweetened iced tea was in order. A hot basket of chips and a small carafe of salsa was dropped off at our table. The salsa was good, but too mild for our tastes. The tortilla chips were very good. I decided on the #1 Lunch Special which included a Chille Relleno and a crispy beef taco. Both platters were accompanied with refried beans and rice. Wow, what a quick turnaround from the kitchen! Victor was back in a flash with our lunch entrees. Both of our lunch entrees were very enjoyable and spiced nicely. We both had happy tummies by the time we left El Patio and headed towards New Orleans. Next time we're in the area, we'll make a point of stopping in and try something new on the menu. read more

Simple, good Mexican food. I ordered take out while in town for work. Tacos were good but shells got soggy..probably poor packaging. Rice n beans had good flavor. Their menu is pretty extensive. Couldn't find the combo plate I wanted so one of the servers assisted me with ordering. Ample parking in front. Very reasonably priced. I don't typically get dessert but he talked me into getting the sopapilla..it was delightful. read more

Seated immediately upon entering though it was after the lunch rush. Colorful & roomy seating on both sides of the restaurant for a festive & comfortable feel. Service was as good as it gets being immediate & timely for the entire meal, very congenial & kind. Meal was hot, fresh & delicious. This Mexican food keeps the main thing, the main thing! I would return. With traffic sometimes missing the option off I-49 as they head east into the main city of Natchitoches, they should turn west a couple of hundred feet & feel good about this choice overall to dine. Unfortunately some of the competing mainstays of town are losing customers due to inconsistent quality to places like El Patio and my family is going to move our business here for the foreseeable future. I think if your family tries them out, you'll likely do the same. It's worth it & if they sharpen their professional edges & stay consistent with their excellence in food & service, they could stay the #1 Mexican option in town for a long time. Negatives: first basket of chips were cold, fajitas should have more corn tortillas without being charged extra, employee at host stand when entering didn't even look up to greet our party & was on his phone. If he was off the clock, he shouldn't be publicly viewable to prevent poor business image. read more

We stopped here for dinner on our road trip from New Orleans to Dallas. It's a nice restaurant near a highway exit. Right away they bought out the a big portion of freshly made salsa and chips. Husband got Natchitoches Special and I got Fiesta Dinner Special; both portion was huge. I took half of my food to go for leftover for lunch the next day. For what we paid for, it was a great deal. The server was Miguel was very friendly, attentive, took our order quickly and food came out right away. My kids ordered from the kids menu and the older got burrito...good portion size and he liked as he ate all of it. The younger one got nacho or chip with cheese...I didn't take a picture but it wasn't what he expected and he didn't eat much of it. Mexican music playing a little loudly in the background and plenty of parking. Would recommend and will come back if/when I am in the area. read more

A beautiful experience in dining! The staff is friendly and accommodating to all requests, from seating to hotel sauce. The fish tacos are exquisite. The Pollo asado is out of this world, with the poblano peppers medicinal for the sinus this time of year. It's my go to spit driving from Alexandria to Shreveport. I get up thinking about what I'll order next, working our way through the menu! read more

This little gem is right now the interstate ( .2 mile). The chip were so fresh & taste. We ordered the burrito & chimichanga. Both entrees were delicious. The staff was friendly & service was quick. If you are passing through & want a quick but delicious you should get this place a try. read more

We were in town for the light festival and fireworks. We decided to grab a bite to eat at El Patio. This place was extremely busy on a Saturday evening before the fireworks display, but to our surprise, we were able to order and get our food in a very timely manner! If you're traveling I-49, this is your exit for food, gas, biological break, etc., as there is not much before or after an hourlong drive in either direction. That being said, unless you're satisfied with fast food, you could opt for some good food fast. Not a gourmet restaurant, but you will get some good Mexican fare at very reasonable prices. Salsa is excellent, portions generous, and the margaritas quite tasty and cold if you have the fortune of not being the DD. Wait staff could be a little more engaged and enthusiastic, but were adequate. read more

Looking for a place to get tacos and a burrito. The tacos weren't to bad. But the burrito was soggy from the outside. Chips were warm but stale. And the salsa wasn't to bad if you like Pace picante sauce. The manager's Victor Padrón and Jorge Pineda were very encouraging to have me write a review, when I asked questions about certain prices, as the website shows one price and in person is a different price. Grilled Galatia was great. Special salsa was super hot and flavorful but only if ordered off menu! The salsa served with chips was better than most but not hot! The burrito dinner was bland but good with cheese sauce. More Tex mex style than authentic. All in all it was almost great. As in 4 stars. Service was good and decor was nice. Prices were reasonable. Very good food with generous portions. I have never left hungry. Mexican food is one of my favorites but I have very few I can frequent because many Mexican restaurants over uses of Cilantro. It tastes like soap to me. The place is not one of those. They have a very balance use of Cilantro and other spices and herbs. I recommend ordering a dish with guacamole salad and pico de gallo. read more

Great service, ok food. The tamales I had were very good, but I judge all Mexican restaurants by two meal the Fajitas and the chimichanga and I can get both better just up the road at Nicky's. The food was AMAZING!!! I had the spicy pork (something peurco) and I couldn't stop eating it! My husband had the cheese enchiladas and loved them. My kiddo was not fond of the "cheese" burger because it was shredded cheese, but take that with a grain of salt. My husband did say that it had a "after-taste" that was weird. They had awesome margaritas! The salsa could use a little more spice, but everyone has their own salsa preferences. I would recommend this place just for the pork alone! read more

Very slow service from our waiter. We were out of beer and chips/salsa for 10 minutes before our waiter came back. Other tables seemed to have more attentive waiters who helped get us more chips and salsa. Food was decent for our expectations. Burrito was small but what I expected for price.
