Stopped here for lunch on our way back to Dallas from New Orleans. It is located a few minutes away from the interstate, nothing fancy but looks like a cozy, small town restaurant with a few tables indoors and some on the patio as well. They have a few vegetarian options, which is always appreciated. On asking, I was told that their rice and beans were vegetarian. We were served complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa wasn't too spicy but they gave a bottle with some spicy tomatillo sauce which tasted amazing. We ordered the vegetarian burrito and quesadilla. The quesadilla had roasted veggies and they were just perfect, that wonderful smoky flavor! The burrito was simple with rice, beans, guacamole and Pico de gallo but tasty nevertheless. I would say, ask them to add the roasted veggies from quesadilla into the burrito as well and that would take it to the next level! Service was very friendly and quick. We left with full tummies and our meal was priced fairly at less than $8 each. Would definitely stop by if I found myself in Alexandria again. read more

Served piping hot fresh chips (2 baskets right from the start) and all 4 of us each given our own salsa. Waitress also kindly replaced our queso after I haphazardly knocked 3/4 of it over the table. I liked the Barbacoa beef, the Chicken, the shrimp ($1 more) and the Pastor pork the best. I love that the corn shells weren't fried, served soft instead. The chips were fried to order and the salsa is very fresh. The charming young man that took my order, Andrew was friendly and patiently offered suggestions while taking my order. If you are looking for authentic, hole in the wall Mexican food, this is your place. The food is amazing and the front porch dining makes me feel like I am back in Mexico. I visit the area monthly and always have lunch here. Real tacos. Great food. I was able to find an Apple soda I fell in love with in Mexico here. They even offered to have a case of it for me when I returned to be able to take home. The people are so nice (Christian owner I believe) and there is always Christian music playing softly.
