Amazing place don't let the outside be deceiving very authentic food and atmosphere. Very reasonably priced great selection of authentic Mexican sodas and a cute little Mexican market.

Ay Dios Mioooo! Yes! This is the real deal! Traditional Mexican yummy food! I ordered the Combination Fajitas Shrimp/Chicken. The flavors were spot on! The rice, the beans, the veggies! All delicious! I paired my lunch with a large delicious orchata! As a side dish, I ordered yummy sweet plantains! It was perfection. It's crazy how I found such a delicious Mexican food in the central Louisiana. Compliments to the cook from an avid traveler.

Stopped here for lunch on our way back to Dallas from New Orleans. It is located a few minutes away from the interstate, nothing fancy but looks like a cozy, small town restaurant with a few tables indoors and some on the patio as well. They have a few vegetarian options, which is always appreciated. On asking, I was told that their rice and beans were vegetarian. We were served complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa wasn't too spicy but they gave a bottle with some spicy tomatillo sauce which tasted amazing. We ordered the vegetarian burrito and quesadilla. The quesadilla had roasted veggies and they were just perfect, that wonderful smoky flavor! The burrito was simple with rice, beans, guacamole and Pico de gallo but tasty nevertheless. I would say, ask them to add the roasted veggies from quesadilla into the burrito as well and that would take it to the next level! Service was very friendly and quick. We left with full tummies and our meal was priced fairly at less than $8 each. Would definitely stop by if I found myself in Alexandria again.

Favorite Mexican spot in Alec! Best thing to get is the chicharron tacos or the barbacoa quesadillas! Off the beat path but super worth it. Great down home service as always

Tacos and Gorditas are the best from Alexandria! Great service! If you looking for a more local Mexican food come here. It's not Tex mex

It was my colleague's turn to choose the dinner location and he decided on Mexican food. Now, I am…read morefrom Arizona, which has the best Mexican food, so I wasn't exactly excited about eating this genre in Alexandria, Louisiana. Here goes... I wanted to play it safe so I ordered the carne asada. To my surprise, it wasn't horrible. Had good flavor and was cooked perfectly. It's served on a bed of grilled onions, which was weird but whatever. This dish also came with my choice of corn or flour tortillas. The rice and beans on the side tasted like they came strait from a can though, but who's there for the rice and beans anyway? Pro tip: save yourself a few bucks and just order the steak fajitas in lieu of the carne asada. The fajitas are served almost identically to the carne asada, except your meat is cut for you already. Both plates come served over grilled onions, both come with tortillas and also with rice/beans and toppings. EXACTLY THE SAME! Weird thing is, the carne asada is $2 more? Give Pedro's a shot, it won't be the best Mexican food you've ever had, but it won't be the worst either. One thumb and a high-five for Pedro's. Happy eating, my foodies!

I wanted to eat some fried ice cream and this is one of the few places I saw that served it. I made…read morethe drive from my hotel room to Pedro's which was somewhat of an adventure because the GPS kept sending me to the wrong place. I ended up getting my fried ice cream to go $6.99. I commend the staff for being really nice and helpful. Everything was still intact and hadn't melted by the time I got back to my hotel room. The ice cream was still firm and the shell was still crispy. Before digging in I had to take some of the whipped cream off of it. A little bit too much sugar was sprinkled on the outside but overall this was really good. I may come back and visit this place again before I leave. I just know to ask them not to put any whipped cream and not as much sugar. The staff was friendly and very helpful.
