My Mom and I are here in Glenmora, Louisiana visiting relatives. I've never heard of a Mexican restaurant out this way before, so I was skeptical. Walking up it was very nice to see a handicap ramp and a covered patio. Inside it was very clean and the atmosphere was pleasant. I don't remember the name of our waiter. He was a young guy with braces on his teeth. He was nice and came to check on us many times, asking if we need anything and refilling our glasses. My Mom and I both had questions about the menu and he knew the answers. As for the food, the portions were adequate for the prices. I ordered the Chimichanga with chicken and the queso on the side. It was delicious. The chicken had a very interesting taste to it. I was different, yet pleasant to my taste buds. The tortilla was very delicious. I enjoyed the meal so much, that I kept eating even though I was full. I had to ask the waiter to take my plate away so I'd stop eating. My Mom had cheese enchiladas. She said they were very good. She too could not finish all of her food. read more

Service slow but decent. Food cold unseasoned. Unlikely to visit again sorry I wanted to love it was very disappointing........again. read more

We ordered the carne asade fajitas. The more expensive fajitas. No guacamole, no pico de gallo, no sautéed bell pepper. And the tiniest serving of sour cream I've ever seen. Maybe a teaspoon full. Disappointing to say the least. We'll go somewhere else next time. read more

Mi Tierra - The "primo" fajitas. - Mexican Near Me - Forest Hill, Louisiana

We stopped in for dinner after shopping for plants at a local Forest Hill nursery, and we were not disappointed. The large house margarita is delicious and pretty big! I decided to try the chicken mole. It had been years since I had had this dish at a Tex-Mex restaurant in Texas. The sauce, the star of this dish, was delicious in that rich chocolatey not sweet way. It seems that traditionally the chicken in this dish is pieces of bone in chicken that you dissect with the rich goodness of the mole sauce. At Mi Tierra, They made the dish with strips of chicken as one may find in a fajita dish. Still good, but not the way I was expecting the chicken to be served. We enjoyed our meal the service was quick and friendly. We will make this a regular stop when we come to Forest Hill. read more

I have ordered "to go" from Mi Tierra 3 times now & every time has been excellent food & picked up from a friendly staff.

Cost over $100 for a family four for cold, greasy food. Slow service and the place was empty.

Great service and the food is delicious I would recommend either location. The atmosphere in Alexandria is great for evening dining.

Best Mexican food in central Louisiana. Well executed menu, pleasing both Tex Mex lovers and those who like authentic taqueria style Mexican fare. Start with some tamales for the table- I always get a dozen to go home with. Extra star for service, these are very personable, happy people that like working there. Give it a try- very worth the drive from Alexandria or Oakdale. read more

Very solid tex-mex/Mexican food in the cenla area. Its nice to have family owned options. It has a very good reputation among the locals and can get quite busy during peak hours. I ordered a vegetarian quesadilla with guacamole. They arent stingy with the cheese; I'll say that much. My friend had a shrimp chimichanga, which sounds gross as all get out to me but he approved. The chips were nondescript. The place itself isnt fancy but perfectly serviceable. You can expect good food but I wouldn't bank on great ambiance- some generic, vaguely Mexican murals going on. But it's clean and not too visually offensive. I'm taking off one star because of poor service. The server was nice enough but very slowly and forgot portions of our meal. The other staff members were very friendly. They take cards so no worries about needing cash. read more

We so enjoyed our catered meal from Mi Tierra. We are from Houston and I called and they were quite helpful in making sure our meal was perfect. Food was delicious and margaritas were on point. Thank you thank you read more

I love their food! It's always fresh and delicious. Kristie's Special isn't on the menu but ask for it! Delicious nacho dish made with beef, beans, lettuce, tomato, and lots of quest! Guacamole is always fresh and their salsa and chips are the best! The margaritas are delicious too. read more

The service and food were wonderful. I was taken there by a family member who absolutely loved the place and was reading the reviews on the way to the restaurant. The few complaints I heard were the portion size(and for a guy I could see that), and the temp inside. I did almost freeze but as a person who's worked fast food I understand!!! The people in the back deserve to be comfortable as well!! I will say that the cheese dip was phenomenal!!! read more

Really good soft chicken tacos (corn). Fresh veggies and super tender and flavorful chicken. Two soft tacos cost less than $5.00 bucks.

Stopped here several years ago, been looking for tamales like theirs every where I go. Even asked the owner about shipping. Belive me , should be in the tamales hall of fame. Nothing around Atlanta even close. read more

Pleasant staff. Chips and salsa fresh and tasty. Food took entirely too long until service. Understaffed?? Dining room way to cold. 80 degrees outside, mid to low 60s inside. Our kids went to the bathroom to warm up! Lol not kidding. Not conducive to margarita sipping, but it didn't stop us. Warm it up and speed it up and another star would be forthcoming. read more

The Best Mexican food in Cenla. Hand made tortillas on site. Homemade salsa made from local ingredients. The margaritas are delicious, and if you have two of them I suggest letting someone else drive. Locally owned and operated. The tamales are some of the best in the region and have won numerous awards. If you have to wait to be seated, wait, it is worth it. read more

This place makes my heart happy and belly smile. The margaritas are crazy amazing and the wait staff was phenomenal.

This place is a complete joke. Tried to order margaritas to go and nobody seem to know how to do that. I am honestly laughing at this place. Would've got my money back but my wife wouldn't let me. read more

I tried their restaurant in Forest Hill and the new one in Alexandria, La. to me they are both the same, they are terrible! The food has no flavor and it all taste like it came out of a can. Great authentic Mexican food. I can't wait to return and try something new. The tamales, Mexican shrimp cocktail, tacos de carne asada, guacamole and chips & salsa were outstanding. This is what you would hope to find in a family owned business. I'll be returning even though we live 1.5 hours away. read more

Very disappointed was one of there first customers when they where in old convenient store on hwy 112 moved to new location prices went up quality and portions went down you leave hungry went from authentic Mexican food to sterotypical Mexican food like a fancy version of taco bell read more

Great place to eat. Amazing fajita and bisteck ranchero. Rice and beans just like in mexico.

We eat here about once a week, as its on our way home from Pitkin. The food is always good and the service is the best. Sometimes I think it's a bit pricey thiugh. But, that's because I am use to paying the "taco truck" prices in Forrest Hill. I'd say if it's a week day eat at Mi Terra's but if it's a weekend make the extra drive to Forrest Hill, and eat at the taco truck it's really good! read more

Low quality food, bad service & small portions. Go to Los Portales or El Parian. Friendly people is what gives it 1 star. Walmart sells better salsa. Most overrated restaurant in Louisiana. Almost as bad as Chilli's in Alexandria. read more

Very disappointed. We were staying at a camp ground down the street and needed to feed our group. I called in the order for 20 people, gave them my name and was told that it would be ready in 20 minutes. About 15 min later I started to head to the restaurant and I received a call from the girl I had placed the order with. She said that the cooks weren't going to make the food unless I gave them my name and number to make sure that the food was being picked up! Seriously, I was almost to the restaurant and they are telling me they haven't even started on the food?!?!! And I gave her my info, and she obviously had my number if she was calling me back! I order 20 tortas, and I have to say they are the worst looking tortas we have ever had. The bolillos were very small--now, we are from Texas, so that may be why--not big enough to fill you up. They were supposed to come with avocado and we got nothing. We asked for no onions on any of them and they all had onions I had to ask for napkins because that wasn't even being provided. Really, really disappointed with this place. Will never go back. read more

I don't know where these other reviewers ate :( Staff was quite nice, but my enchilada lunch was warmed over from a can. Plate and food were lukewarm, and nothing was restaurant/chef prepared. All of the chicken in the enchiladas were the exact quarter-inch cubes, bean and rice were out of a can, and the queso sauce was out of a can, warmed and drizzled over the manufactured flour tortillas. It was edible, and I didn't want to make a scene, so I ate most and left. Won't be returning. read more

Was told that this place was awesome, so decided to give it a try today when we went to one of the nurseries. Don't know what all the hype was about, Salsa was super sugary sweet, margarita on the rocks had to be sent back because it tasted just like lime juice, and cheese sauce on enchiladas was so SALTY that they were inedible. Won't bother going back, if people think that this is great food, they really need to get out more read more
