Everything! Food was great. The only thing you wouldn't like about this place, is something you should love about it. And that's the amount of time it took to bring this delicious plate to my table.

This is my new hang out!!!! It may not be the must fancy place, but you have of hole in the walls that have the best food; well this place doesnt disappoint. I have had the biscuits and gravy with eggs and bacon that is crispy with a side of french toast that was delicious. I have had a couple of different burgers on different occasions and both were grilled to perfection with seasoning. I have had several other items. I would definitely recommend this place to any one that is looking for good down home cooking. The service is very good as well and I know that it may sound funny but I love their sweet tea!!!!

One of, if not the oldest restaurant in Alexandria and for good reason. The food is always great and the service is fast and friendly.

This is my favorite coffee shop in Alexandria! I love this shop so much that I took my husband here…read moreas his first stop in Alexandria prior to meeting my parents when he was my boyfriend! Of course I chose somewhere that I felt was the best Alexandria has to offer in an atmosphere where he could enjoy a beverage and have plenty of space and privacy to relax and unwind (he is the first boyfriend I ever took to meet my parents so the pressure was real!) This shop is located in downtown Alexandria with super quirky decor, lots of seating, and several book and game options to pass the time! I also loved the hidden notes in the bookcase that gave book recommendations. I have tried several of their drinks here throughout the years. Most recently I tried one of their seasonal drinks, the reindeer chow but asked them to hold the chow to make it a cookie butter latte with oat milk (wasn't really in the mood for a chocolatey cereal chow meal in my drink but loved the concept)! I also ordered the avocado toast. The latte was perfectly balanced, yet rich and delicious! It was also served at the perfect drinkable temp. The avocado toast was THICK and the avocado and egg topping seemed fresh. It was very filling and a nice dose of healthy protein after all the holiday indulgence! I will ALWAYS come back to this coffee shop when I'm in town especially since it holds a precious memory for me. Also, Check out the background of this shop on their website, such a beautiful dedication!

Whether it's an occasional treat, a special occasion, or simply lunch, Atwood's is always a great option. Locals are here for all sorts of reasons: morning coffee, freshly baked pastries (croissants are on point), sandwich for lunch, dessert anytime, and cake. The latter is a big one, especially during this time of year, i.e. Mardi Gras. Their regular king cake with cream cheese is most definitely a hit. I wouldn't hesitate to get a custom cake ordered here and I think their prices are still reasonable. They also have a number of small, personalized desserts, and also have a solid variety of gelato and cookies as well. I appreciate their attention to seasonal items. It's super cute on the outside, and despite not being overly spacious, has enough tables for small groups to enjoy a drink and a small dessert treat. Parking is plentiful, they accept credit cards, and they're a women-owned establishment. The times can get tricky since they close on Sundays and Mondays and are only open till 2pm for midweek. From Thursday-Saturday, they're open till 9:00pm. __________ (#1) A lot like Ambrosia (https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-ambrosia-bakery-baton-rouge-2) in Baton Rouge or Amore (https://www.yelp.com/biz/amore-bakery-and-cafe-gretna) in NOLA.

Very friendly! Why the four stars? No restaurant staff were wearing masks at all except for the cooks. Patrons were even walking in the restaurant without masks and weren't being asked to put them on until they were eating or drinking. Must be an Alexandria, LA thing I guess... Give this place a shot if you're ever in the area. One thumb up for Huddle House. Happy eating, my foodies!

I have been in the Alexandria, LA probably a dozen times in the last two years for breakfast. The…read morebreakfast is pretty good (if you can get it hot)! I don't understand why there is always 3 to 5 orders just sitting at the pickup area for 10 to 20 minutes waiting to get picked up by the waitresses who don't seem to be in a hurry to deliver the meals in a timely manner (while still hot). The time before my last visit, I asked to have my Waffle first before the rest of the breakfast so it would be hot when I got it. I waited 20 minutes and asked my waitress about it and she had not put the order in!!! Not the brightest bulb on the tree! When she finally brought the waffle to my table, I put the back of my hand to the waffle, and it was barely warm with ice-cold butter on top "and" she delivered the rest of my order (eggs, country ham, hashbrown, grits and toast, all also just lukewarm and the eggs & toast were cold. She brought me another "hot" order and looked at me like I had horns! The last couple of times I have eaten there I have sat at the counter on a stool literally 3 feet from the food pickup area so the cook can pass my plates to me as they come off the grill nice and hot! Nobody wants lukewarm or cold food. The solution is too easy, either they have a food expediter to immediately pick up the food and get it right out to the table and/or ring the bell that an order is ready and so the waitresses hear it or know it is calling her, if the restaurant has four waitresses the cook should ring the bell four times in succession, if there are only two or three waitresses then just ring the bell twice or three times. If there is a manager, he/she needs to make sure the waitresses and cooks are on the same page and more of a sense of urgency to get the food out hot! IF THEY EXPECT A NICE TIP! If I get good hot food and good professional service, typically leave a 25% or more tip, but these waitresses are lucky if I leave $2. I left two stars because of the issues afore mentioned. If I were grading just the food, it would be 5 stars.
