This it's an excellent location to see the beach on a budget. You can get yours umbrella. for 9 to $11 per person there's also restaurant where they bring your food and drinks to where your sitting. Observation they do have cheaper prices for the chairs earlier in the morning I noticed that people that came later in the day were charged higher amounts for the same chair and umbrella. Poodle skirt and tasty best value in my opinion were the fajitas. Clean restrooms as well near the restaurant.

the seaweed.

If you need a breakfast spot in Tulum, Potheads is it. We landed here more than once because the…read morevibe is just RIGHT for the morning.. easy, sunny, unhurried. The smoothies and burritos hit, the mimosas do not hurt, and the coffee is exactly what you want before a day on the bikes. My favorite move is heading upstairs to the little bar that overlooks the street and people-watching while you sip. Friendly and laid-back, a great way to start the day. I particularly loved the juices.

We came here on a whim the first morning of our stay in Tulum. It was open early and had coffee…read more It's a cute , family operated cafe with a jungle-like seating area in the far back and an upstairs. They do light a mosquito repellent fog which is helpful. We arrived around 745a and no one else was around. Only some stragglers from the prior night still getting after it. We ordered two lattes with almond milk and two breakfast burritos. The one I had was really good, beautiful presentation for breakfast. The ratio of potatoes:eggs:bacon was a little off and it seemed like a little more potatoes than other stuff in my partners. Overall, though it was super convenient and they do have some really good specials for fish tacos and drinks later on in the afternoon. We only had one meal here during our stay so can't speak too much else. They did seem to be reasonably busy throughout the day when we would drive by though.

During our travels to Tulum we decided to check out all of the major fine-dining establishments and…read moreARCA was one of the top-recommended options we received. Sitting next to Hartwood (another excellent establishment) in the busy downtown section of Tulum's hotel zone the restaurant is a beautiful indoor / outdoor set-up with plenty of space, seats and airy aesthetics. Like many similar restaurants they incorporate lots of wood elements and despite the high number of mosquitoes and bugs they try their best to deal with the swarms of insects by spraying incense and adding fans. In October, during the low and rainy season, it was quite empty (only 3-4 other tables besides us) though the stifling heat and humidity, was probably a large driver of that. They offer three seatings at 5:30, 7:00 (maybe 7:30?) and 9:00PM so we chose the earlier one while it was still bright. The food is creative, delicious and small portions (as you'd expect from a fine-dining establishment) and I appreciate that they offer to add or split items depending on your party's needs. For example, one of our members is a vegetarian so they offered to make one of the crab tacos (they come in pairs of two) vegan for us and at a lower rate. My personal favorite item was the crab esquite, which was like a mix of a corn salad and crab meat which was both filling and delicious. Other items like the crudo were fun and tasty, though portions were very small. Our waiter recommended that we each order at least 2 dishes (we ended up with ~9) for a proper meal as it's tapas-style. Towards the end of the meal as it was getting dark all of the power shut off. Unfortunately it seems like it's a somewhat regular occurrence; while at first I was understanding given the area seemed to have been impacted we noticed that all of the other restaurants seemed to have power and it was just ARCA that was without. It made going to the bathroom challenging given the pitch-black nature of the jungle around 8PM and the candles weren't enough to see much. Their backup generator also seemed to go out multiple times so I hope they improve their infrastructure going forward.
