We were on 192 and I had heard about this place from my aunt. The parking lot was packed so that was a good sign. On the weekends the cost is $12.99 For adults and it includes a soft drink. This used to be a Chinese Buffet so the set up is the same. The place is well lit and clean. The amount of food to choose from is expansive. Since its so busy, the food is fresh and hot. So many different Latin options from sancocho, pasteles, patitas, and arroz con gandules to Chinese food like lo mein and fried crab. There was a taco bar too. My kids really enjoyed the empanadas, the beans, sorullos, and mini donuts. Make sure you have the sorullos. They are super good. I contemplated putting some in my purse but I'm trying to keep it classy. Ok so when we left and got out to our car, we found out that it had died. This guy in the parking lot offered to give us a jump and it didn't work so we thought it was a starter. We decided to let the restaurant know not to tow the car and that we would figure out something in the morning. The manager insisted on coming out to see if he could try to jump it. It started right up. Such a nice guy. I made our experience that much better that he cared enough to stop what he was doing in his busy restaurant to come out and give it a second try. All the decorations |Tables | Walls, etc... are still "old fashioned" and are still in use. This is a really popular place for the "Latin Community" however, they have made no effort on remodeling or improving the outside/Inside. To make this clear, this buffet NEEDS A REMODEL/MAKE OVER!!! This was the first time I have been to a Latin buffet and boy what a way to get indoctrinated into the experience. The staff was friendly, the food fresh and amazing. You can tell that it's a good restaurant judging by whether the locals frequent and did they ever. I got in at 11:30 am and was able to get my first serving before the rush of locals entered. It was great everyone was polite and the food kept on being replenished. My favourite dish by far was the beef soup that had cassava, plantains and potatoes which I added some fresh cilantro, green onions and salsa to top it off. Out of this world. What would you like to hear, the cons or pros first? Let's go with the cons, the place looks a little run down and that makes it look like it needs attention in the cleaning department as well... For those who expect high quality very clean atmosphere, this will bother you and affected my rating... Also the taste is very important and though, being of Latin culture this does not meet my expectations, for the price, I found it, very affordable and meeting fairly an above average expectation of what Spanish food should taste like, to me... I find these "open" buffets, that don't have lids on their items, to be tepid and would love to eat hot food, hot, not tepid which also affected my rating. TIP: at all these open buffets, I stir the food from bottom to top, so I can get it a little warmer serving from the bottom. My all time favorite is "Sancocho", for Cubans is more known like an "Ajiaco" for Americans it's close to a beef soup but has roots like yucca/cassava and plantains. The pros, about this place, is it has sooooo much to offer, that it's impossible to not leave at least "satisfied" with finding something you like: Sushi, pizza, ice creams, soups, different rices with beans or gandules, assorted empanadas (stuffed assorted puff pastries), assorted seafood, assorted meats, assorted plantains and other assorted vegetables, assorted deserts and fruits, assorted salads and a couple of "ceviche" items (again NOT the BEST ceviche but passable). You can even find on the buffet, cilantro and lemon wedges, to add to any dish. They also have a Hibachi grill where you can choose your own ingredients and have it cook to your liking... It's really overwhelming but I first look around and serve myself just a tasteful, to then go back, to get more of what I really liked! As for being crowded, if this is an issue for you, expect peak hours at lunch and dinner time but the up side to that, is the items then are frequently changed, so you know, you'll get it, a little hotter and fresher. "El Palacio" means "The Palace" living up to their name as being the only biggest assorted "Spanish" buffet food, I know in the area! But with greatness, should come a greater commitment to striving to do better and hopefully they will but they may not see the need, when most craving Spanish food, settle for "The Palace" for it's great price and great selection! read more

The variety of food options leaves you feeling satisfied! My friends and I drove 30 minutes to try this buffet and we were so happy that we did bc we all left full and had an amazing service. I don't care about the decor because the place is clean and the food is good that what we ultimately care about. The chicken and broccoli are so good along with their pastelitos is like the best of two worlds, Dominican food and Chinese food. I love it . Definitely worth the trip and the price was great. I walked in, followed by about 3-4 more people in my party ( this wasn't the entire party either)... and was immediately greeted with a "ohhh you can't just come in here like that- that's what I'm saying" -- Now I'm not sure how else to come into an establishment without using the front door-- nor did I know exactly WHAT he was saying but it was rude. This place was great!!!! We have been looking for a Hispanic Buffett for quite some time. Driving by we pulled a u turn because we were so excited to try it out. Working with a selection that is a hybrid of the Chinese food place the used to be there and the Hispanic food try now serve. The waitress encourage us to go take a look before we sat down. We did and then we took a seat. I will start by saying that I make no promises that this is the best Hispanic food you will ever have. But I will say that the selections of main stream things like arroz con gaundules and bistec are all there and satisfying. The Chinese food I can only hope they will fade out but it was not bad either. For must have the guava and cheese empanadas were to die for. I ate way too many. They are a must try. Came from Cocoa to buy a car at Fountain Acura. Found this place on Yelp. I'm just a Georgia blond haired belle. WOW! What a culture shock. This place is a thrill for people watching. Though we didn't speak the language , friendly people helped us get through the process of waiting to be seated and ordering. Lots of loving, noisy families, guys on lunch break, genderless teens ect. Place was packed. There must have been five or more isles of buffet food - Asian, American, Cuban or Latin? I tried the goat and lamb. Bland but steamy good. I must say the braised chicken quarters were the juiciest and most tender and tasty I've ever had at a buffet. One issue is that they do not have a handicap ramp at the exit side. My petite aunt takes care of my ill uncle and she pushes his by herself. I always would come here but I was there Monday the 27th and it was horrible they didn't have salmon on the Buffay like they used to so they took that off there they used to have the peppered steak but it was spicy this time and then the waitress tried to tell me I could only have two refills of soda now I've been going there for years and I've never heard of that but the problem was the other waitress had not gotten there yet and I was clear on the other end from where all her tables were and she just didn't wanna come over here and take care of me but the other waitress was super nice that had most the people on the side I was sitting that she took over at 11 except me because I was already there with the other waitress) now granted I was drinking a lot because I had been shopping and it was 87° inside that restaurant and they were having problems with their air conditioning but don't tell me I can only have two refills when I know that's a lie because the other waitress had said she never heard of that either! My coworkers finally got me to go to this combination Chinese/Hispanic food restaurant today and I have to give it an equally mixed rating. You pay $8.50 for the meal which comes with the drink included which is decent. I wandered the tables for a bit to see what they offered: everything from yuca, oxtail, roasted pork, rice and beans to a mix of fried foods and then a table or two of the foods you find in a typical Chinese buffet. I picked up some okay tasting walnut shrimp, well seasoned roasted pork, overly oily fried yuca fritter with meat inside it, cheese topped mashed potatoes which were a bit bland, general Tso chicken which I think gave me a reaction which caused my skin to feel itchy, fried shrimp which went it got peeled was overly cooked and finally the goat was tasty. I served myself small servings over the above mentioned items to test out the place... which meant I had only two plates. Now the positives: we arrived at 11:45, were seated quickly and our drink orders were topped off quickly by our great server. The place, though kinda odd on the outside, was clean inside and they are pretty organized with keeping the foods filled and warm. By the time I left the place was truly filled up with hungry folks looking to feed their tummies from the vast selections. Will I personally return, probably not. TL;DR All you can eat authentic Dominican food! Stopped by this place with my in-laws on their recommendation and was initially thrown off by seeing a line outside. The line, luckily, moved quickly and in 5 minutes we were seated inside. The all you can eat buffet on Sunday (including bottomless soda) was $10.99! They had all the authentic classics: pollo al horno, tostones, moro de guandules, yuca, morcilla, mangu, etc. For what it was, the food and value were great! What should be hot is hot and what should be cold is cold. Lots of assorted meat for the carnivores and lots of vegetable, fresh fruit, seafood selections too. I came in to enjoy an experience with my sister which is pregnant. Prior coming to the restaurant we passed several other buffets that was suggested but instead I choose to come here besides all the bad talk about it. Came in an enjoyed how I was greeted then went to sit down. That's when it started I asked for sweet tea don got water, I said okay maybe cause he didn't know English even tho you pay for ya drink included with the buffet so who not water? Lol well moving on go to the HOT FOOD TABLE and serval things are not hot, I uploaded a picture of the hot wings and they were COLD, went to the front to ask what they can do and they said since I started eating there is no refund. Great food - but poor service. We have visited the location in Kissimmee and enjoyed it. On Saturday we visited the location on OBT. We were blown away. Great selection, all of the food we had was fresh and delicioso. They even had sushi!!! It was a great value as well. The part we were disappointed in was service. We had to track down our server to order a drink. She had walked us to our table then vanished. We noticed one other server who was very attentive to the tables behind us but our server was nowhere to be found. When we did find her she she acted like she was irritated that we had the nerve to bother her. We will be back but if we see this server we will ask for a different one. Had this on my to try list for when we can to Orlando. Well we stopped in tonight and it was busy so that seemed to be a good sign. Prices are reasonable at $9.99 an adult and $5.99 for a 5 year old including the drink. We had to wait a bit to be seated but wasn't a big deal. We tried a lot of different stuff and didn't try one thing we didn't like. It was delicious and had a nice variety. Good quality food for the price too unlike some of the bigger chain buffets. The only complaint I have is the empanadas were pretty empty. The hibachi was really good and the wing sauce was awesome! We will definitely come back when we are in the area again. read more

I really wanted to give my kids a positive experience trying something different while visiting Orlando,FL. I thought Latin food would be a nice change. After reading several positive reviews, we went there last night. They gave us each one glove. The entire experience was very depressing. The ambiance was sad. It was strange...it had a combination of Mexican and Chinese decor? We saw a lot of very overweight people piling up a lot of food on their plates and we didn't understand it. The food was not good at all and looks messy. We all felt like the place wasn't clean, floors were a little sticky. I didn't like any of the Latin food. Chinese food was mediocre. None of us dare touch the limited sushi available (unraveled and old looking). The meat in the hamburgers didn't look like meat. The Mac and cheese was unappetizing. It would help if the food were labeled better. Most had missing labels and we didn't know what we were looking at. The ice-cream was mostly empty and difficult to scoop. It was so hot in the restaurant, but they only had a few fans turned on. All of us were very quiet through the whole meal and left feeling kind of grossed out. It has sort of a Motel 6 atmosphere. We all agreed we couldn't eat anymore Latin type food for a long time. If you are on a vacation, I don't recommend it. Ichiban or Hokkaido buffet wasn't great, but better in my opinion. The pros: I tried a couple of rice dishes, and it was decent. My daughter thought the jello was good. My husband loved the ice water. Bathrooms were relatively clean. There was a bug in the fruit salad and it wasn't even cold which means holding temp wasn't up to par. Kitchen could not even keep up with food at 6 PM on a Monday everything was consistently empty. The floor was slippery because of thrown food that was never cleaned up. Waste of money time and disgusted. Wont be back.
