They were kind enough to put my name on a bag and hold the items for me, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, when I came back later that week to pick them up, the items couldn't be found. It seemed like there was some miscommunication between the staff, which was really disappointing because I had specifically called ahead and was told they would be held for me. I completely understand that things can get misplaced, especially in a busy store, but it was frustrating knowing that I had already paid for the items and had made a trip back specifically to retrieve them. I also didn't have my receipt anymore because I had assumed everything had been placed in my bag, which I realize was ultimately my mistake. It's definitely something I won't let happen again. What was disappointing was that, even though the staff remembered me coming in previously, the items ultimately weren't replaced or resolved. I understand that mistakes happen, but I think this could have been handled a little better. Even with these issues, I still genuinely love Seaside Market and want to see it continue to do well. I know that growing crowds and increased popularity can create challenges, but I do think there are opportunities to improve the overall customer experience, especially when it comes to parking, managing the crowds, and communication between team members. The prices have definitely been climbing, and with the store becoming busier, it's getting a little harder to visit than it used to be. Still, there's a reason I've been coming here for years, and I'll continue to support the market. I just hope they're able to find ways to make the experience a little easier as the business continues to grow.

Easy to head to the section you were looking for. We looked around the store a lot and the folks who work there were very attentive. They asked us a number of times if we needed any help, answered any questions that we had, and even gave us some suggestions and background on certain cuts. We ended up going with some picanha, a couple other types of steaks, and a couple options of seafood. All the pricing was all very reasonable and now we have a fully stocked freezer.

My husband and I cherish our weekly breakfast dates, and The Broken Yolk has officially won our hearts as our new go-to spot! We stopped frequenting our previous favorite due to declining customer service and other minor issues. Though The Broken Yolk is a bit of a drive for us, all the way on the opposite side of Oceanside, I'm thrilled we decided to give it another try after some time away. Upon arrival, we had a short wait for a table--less than 10 minutes, which was completely manageable. The menu was a delight with such a variety of options! It offered everything from classic American breakfasts to Mexican dishes (my personal favorite), and the selection was not overwhelming as I can be sure to find things to put on my "next time I'll try that" list. Our server, John T., was an absolute gem. His welcoming and friendly vibe immediately set the tone for a great meal. He went above and beyond, not only taking our drink orders but also suggesting water on the side without us even asking--a small but much-appreciated detail. His attentiveness throughout our visit was outstanding; he checked in regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. That's the definition of excellent customer service! The portions of the meal were very generous, we definitely feel like the price is worth the portions they serve. The atmosphere was vibrant and upbeat, complemented by some good background music, and the restaurant was impeccably clean. What truly stood out to me was the cheerful demeanor of all the employees. It's clear that they enjoy their workplace, which speaks volumes about the way they're treated--and that positivity reflects directly on the quality of service they provide. Amazing! The food is very good, authentic Mexican Food. I've never complained. But their salsa takes it to a whole new level. My family usually stops by the El Nopalito market about twice a month during the sprint and summer. Their chipotle salsa, roasted pepper and fresca salsa are to die for. I'm 100% serious. THE BEST SALSA IN TOWN good. The guacamole is right up there as well. So, we buy their salsa and pick up 4 to 6 pounds of their marinated carne asada and pollo asada from the market. (They have a more authentic name for it). Oh! And their chips in the market are the best I've ever been able to buy. Only like $2.50 a bag too. The ingredients... if I remember, only include organic flour, oil and salt with a touch of lime. For some reason, to my utter disappointment, the restaurant serves a different style of chip. In conclusion.... El Nopalito market and restaurant are perfect for the following people: - Natural, locally made salsa lovers. - Carne Asada grilling enthusiasts (best marinated Carne by far) - Authentic Mexican food faire - and, I suppose people looking for Mexico calling cards. Not good, just not good. I don't get this place, I have been buying their salsa for years and their chips, so I finally broke down and went there. It was not good, Enchiladas were dreadful, burritos were bland. Sloppy service, weird interior, not at all a restaurant, I would not even put this up there with my favorite take out Mexican. Just something off about it but yet they continue to make great chips and salsa. Why not invest some time and money into the menu and decor and make this a first rate business? No instead they just sell their salsa and chips to every grocery store in SD and convince people they have a legitimate operation but frankly this place needs to be raided by the FDA. This is a great Mexican market with a wide array of products; from canned goods to fresh veggies, butcher counter meats and cheeses, fresh in house made salsas, guacamole, ceviche and tamales, Mexican Coca-Cola, pastries, Alta-Dena milk, fresh local eggs, pinatas; you name it you can probably find it! I live within walking distance and when the tortilleria is in production the aroma wafting on the ocean breeze is so tantalizing that it's next to impossible not to go get some! I noticed a little treasure of the hole in wall that hands over great Asian food earlier this summer while vacationing in Carlsbad. I love observing Spanish-Speaking consumers consuming while I'm outside determining to get one for the staff. In my own family I'm referred to as "Mikey". It contained crinkle-cut, Ore-Ida-style fries, a few decent shrimp, and dry carne asada. The pico de gallo had an overpowering flavor and a soggy texture. The burrito itself was large, and the toasted tortilla was one of the few positives. The fish tacos were equally disappointing. The tortillas were cold and rubbery, while the fish was this overly large, rectangular, store-bought frozen fillet rather than something freshly prepared. The rolled taco combo was arguably the worst item. They were extremely dry and topped with what tasted like processed, store-bought melted cheese. The avocado mash (not guac) was actually pretty good, which was one of the only highlights of the meal. The beans tasted like store bought, canned beans and the rice was okay. Most importantly for any taco shop, the red salsa was simply awful. The green salsa was decent, but the red salsa was honestly the worst I've ever tasted. The flavor reminded me of Ragu marinara sauce mixed with a dash of hot sauce...I kid you not! I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, but I hope ownership takes this feedback seriously and makes some changes. There is potential here, but the food quality and ingredient choices need significant improvement.

At the drive-through window I specifically said I did not want extra fries, and the employee told me "it's okay," which made me think the order had been corrected. I got home and opened a burrito that was basically a tortilla stuffed with french fries and very little else. The frustrating part is I literally caught the mistake before leaving and was basically brushed off instead of someone just correcting the order.
