A man falling because the food is so good

I recently dined at the Nibble Nook, and I was EXTREMELY impressed I ordered the California Burrito and it was absolutely scrumptious I also enjoyed a plate of coleslaw and it made me question my existence it was so good. Nibble nook is easily the best restaurant I've ever been in.

This place is outdated and the food needs scrapped .. if you need somewhere to take your great grandmother for dinner .. this is perfect !! Sorry for the harsh review but this was hands down the worst food I've ever had that considers to be Mexican .. oh and did I mention the warm Margarita.. unbelievable..

Chicken botanas
Samantha M.

Love the chicken botanas - chips smothered in beans, cheese, chicken, green olives & avocado. Added some of their salsa to nicely top it off. My favorite!! Also had a bean & cheese burrito which was huge & delicious! Love their chips & salsa!

Huge Chiles relleno!

We've been going to the Nook for years! My favorite 4 things on the menu: margaritas (house-made) chile rellenos (huge) California style tacos (that sweet and spicy beef!) salsa (perfect heat and consistency) The rest of the menu, in my opinion, is your standard Tex-Mex fare. Service has always been good and the staff always friendly.

Our favorite Mexican restaurant. We now drive over 50 miles to eat there. Been a loyal nook customers since the 1960's.

Outstanding mexican food. My kids love the tacos. We go there after swim meets and they could eat a mountain of tacos.

I do not know why it took us so long to discover this place. We always compare new Mexican…read morerestaurants to our favorites, and most never compare, but this place was so stinking delicious. I am sorry I did not visit sooner. I believe it is more recent, within the last or so, and that it was a different restaurant before. The chips were exactly the way I like them, hot, salty, and crispy. The salsa was good too. We had a few drinks. Modelo Negra, which is smooth and drinkable. I had the Blue Cactus margarita, I highly recommend, and their version of the Stoli Doli, which was very nice. We had a combo plate and a giant chimi. The giant chimi is what I typically get at my favorite place, and this establishment did such a great job, I no longer have to drive out far to get it. It has both chicken and beef, and I love the pickled vegetables on top. I really want to try more drinks and some their desserts and maybe bring the kids next time, they would love it.

Kirsten is waiting on us…read more The chips are hot, not too bad, some are a tad over fried and they are rather greasy too. Salsa is mild. No house hot salsa at all. Their hot salsa is a bottle of Cholula. :( The Guacamole is expensive, $12, probably not made to order either. Kirsten confirmed the guacamole is not fresh and is premade, can not be made spicy at all. She suggested adding Cholula, again. I asked if they don't have jalapeño at all, she said yes. We ordered an overpriced small guacamole for $12 and a chicken fajita for two with corn tortillas for $32, also expensive! $46.59 This is likely one of the more expensive Mexican restaurants we have been to in a long while and it's not even a gourmet or fusion either. Prices are closer to NYC or LA prices. Crazy prices here for what you get. Then again their rent is likely sky high since it's a Jonna building. Their salsa ramekin is so small, we usually run out of chips before we run out of salsa at most Mexican restaurants. Let's see how the rest of the food goes, not impressed so far and can't see this place lasting at their prices for another year or so. It's not that busy here either, maybe 4-5 customers early this afternoon. No more chips or salsa refill, we had to ask for more salsa and then more chips too later. Our waitress isn't attentive at all. The premade guacamole didn't come out until our fajita was out, that's not a good order for food items out, especially given the guacamole is premade. Service is not first priority for sure here. Have to ask for things for stuff and attention. Don't recommend their corn tortillas? They don't heat them up, so they disintegrate and fall apart. The flour is the better option for the fajitas. The rice and beans are just filler, not so good. The pico looks to be premade as well and not so fresh. The guacamole wasn't bad, they kicked it up with Serrano peppers. The chicken fajita was decent. More peppers would have been nice, a lot of onions.

One of the best Mexican food spots in MI!…read more I've gotten food from here a few times now and it's always amazing. Very much recommend getting their burritos

Very good Mexican restaurant. On this visit I ordered an El Pastor (Pork) and a Carne Asada (steak)…read more street Taco that were very authentic to what you would find in Mexico. Both taco's were well made with soft corn tortillas, protein of choice, Cilantro , onions, seasoning and a fresh slice of lime. Meats were quite tender, well cooked and very flavorful. Aside from the taco's, I had the house gratis chips and Salsa, which were excellent and a house margarita that was on special that day. The Margarita was quite large and tasty albeit I think it was a tad shy on the tequila where after drinking two of them I really wasn't feeling any impact from the drinks. The is a small gripe as I find this to be a common practice with many Mexican restaurants in the area and am always pleasantly surprised when I find a local restaurant that has a Margarita with a bit of of punch. Oh well.... Relative to staff and facility, both are outstanding where the staff was super friendly with great follow up and the facility was very bright/clean with a nice Mexican decor that added a lot to the dining experience. Cleary a dual strength for this business. Overall this is a great choice for Mexican food if you are in the area and should be checked out if you are a fan of good Mexican food.

It has a very simple but inviting atmosphere. The food smells good right as you walk in. It's very welcoming. We were greeted fairly quickly by our waiter who asked us if we wanted drinks I went with a rainbow margarita as that looked interesting. The drinks took probably 5 to 8 minutes. They brought out the chips and salsa pretty quick. The drinks came out. The margarita was ok for me. There were too many flavors that just didn't seem to go together. I would've preferred a standard margarita. It was ok not bad, but I wouldn't order it again. We placed our order for food. I went with the combination, dinner number 13, taco burrito and Chalupa. And we got a side of rice and beans. My wife ordered the vegetable fajita although the waiter told us ahead of time that the food was going to take a while as they were busy. It seemed like it came out in 5-8 minutes. It was fast. Chips and salsa are always good so those were fine. They gave us a couple of different salsa options which were good. For my food. The beef taco was really good. That was probably my favorite part of the meal. The burrito was chicken and was pretty good. Chalupa was not what I thought it was going to be basically it's a thin tortilla with a bunch of toppings piled on top of it that you just basically eat off of it with a fork. You can't pick it up and hold it as it's too heavy and the tortilla sits in sauce and other sides that then make it fall apart. My wife said her vegetable fajita was pretty good as well. The beans and rice were very average, not much flavor. Overall, the meal was decent nothing great nothing terrible just good. We may come back sometime as it is a nice place, the ambience is nice and the staff was great. But the food was nothing special aside from the beef taco that was delicious.

Unbelievable, beyond disappointing. The corn chips are quite greasy, but crunchy. The guacamole isn't too bad. We asked for jalapeños to add to it, we got pickled jalapeños. I would have thought they would have loads of fresh jalapeños, given the type of cuisine here. The pickled jalapeño gives the guacamole a very different taste to it. Cheese everywhere. Ugh. All over the taquitos and the chicken tostada too. The chicken in the taquitos are hard as jerky. The rest of the chicken in the taquito is super dry. The bean salad is so-so, has overcooked peas in it, corn, bland beans, red pepper, tomatoes. The chicken fajita is okay, a tad dry, there's some tomatillo or salsa verde in the grilled chicken with the red pepper, green peppers and onions. The small pico that comes with the fajita has good heat, from the fresh jalapeños. The quesadillas have a ton of cheese, not a lot of chicken inside, looks like an after thought. Service was ok. I gave them another try today because I randomly wanted some Mexican (and I totally forgot it was May 5th). So I came here with my family and should have stayed home. This was thee worst Mexican I have ever had in my life. My corn tortillas were turn into crispy shells because they were cooked too long and not soft (pan heated). My carnitas had no flavor. My horchata was so sour tasting and smelling. It was also thick and very curdy. I sent it back. The rice might have been the worst part. There was no flavor. The rice is what I remember 12 years ago. It tastes like minute rice. The only things good were the chips and salsa. The waitress was nice, but she was new. Nothing was her fault. I unfortunately was very unhappy with this place. Definitely can say I'll never return.
