Excellent! Friendly, attentive staff and management, quick service, and the atmosphere was relaxed (not kitschy like so many other Mexican restaurants around). I had a shrimp taco, a fish taco, a carne asada taco, rice, beans, and also tried the chorizo quesadilla and a sopapilla. All were excellent and, while I would happily get any of those items again, I'm excited to try the burritos on the next visit, which I'm sure will be soon. I'm happy to have this restaurant in the area. read more

We noticed their sign on the building was hanging. Made sure to stay alert walking inside. The CAN from the Mexican sign fell on the ground while we were inside. Good thing it didn't fall on someone walking in. We let the staff know after it fell down. Live Singer. Feel like I am at a wedding in here for some reason. It's quite loud in the dining room. Hard to have a conversation at times. Asked the waitress if the singer could turn down his speaker volume a notch, he did. Can chat again. Ordered taquitos Mexicano, 2 chicken street tacos, 2 side of black beans, 2 chicken quesadillas, large guacamole. $50.48 The Dos flautas are only available at lunch. The corn chips are hard, not my thing. The house mild and hot salsa mixes nicely. The guacamole is decent. Made with pico de gallo. Fresh. The quesadillas are super cheesy, bottom 1/3 is all cheese, diced chicken on top. Not too bad, more meat and cheese balance. The beans aren't bad. The refried beans are tasty, slight smokey flavor even. The chicken and beef taw were okay. The chicken street tacos are so-so, meat is dry. read more

The last time I was in this space was many years ago when it was Rudy's. They have done a nice job of remodeling. I was greeted immediately (I actually didn't see the host at the stand at first) and was seated. He then brought a basket of warm chips and salsa. I ordered the lunch special #5 -- a burrito and taco. They both had ground beef and were served on a bed of rice. The burrito was very basic -- just the beef and cheese. The taco had some lettuce in it. I was a little disappointed that sour cream & tomatoes didn't come with it. My meal was tasty, but because it was placed on top of the rice, the taco got soggy. The service was wonderful and friendly. I'm sure I will be back again. read more

I arrived at 12:15 and the business was empty ... and I began to worry ... for no reason at all. The service was swift. The salsa was almost too mild. The nachos were excellent and the portion was generous. The dining room and restroom were spotless. Will I return? Yes. read more

Rancho Tapatio - Super nachos w/Super Nacho with Shredded Chicken - Mexican Near Me - Walled Lake, Michigan

Hello delicious Mexican food in west Oakland county!!! I was so excited this place is open because it's been difficult finding Mexican food that's really good out here for me. Stopped here last night for a carry out and this is a regular spot now. I ordered a taco dinner and the meats were very good. I had asada (steak), pollo (grilled chicken), carnitas (shredded pork). The grilled chicken was my favorite! All was good, but the chicken was flavored so well! I'm very picky about my rice and the rice was really good on flavor. I didn't dislike anything if I'm being honest. Pricing isn't too bad. It seems higher than a lot, but it's not for the area to be honest. I think they are a bit cheaper than other places. And portions are pretty good amount. Definitely support this business and happy taco eating! read more

Rancho Tapatio - Mexican Near Me - Walled Lake, Michigan

Rancho Tapation makes some of the best authentic Mexican street taco's I have had in the Metro Detroit area. My Steak and El Pastor street taco's on corn tortilla's were very well made with tender meat, fresh cilantro and onions sautéed to perfection. So so tasty. Gratis house made chips and Salsa were excellent where I had a difficult time to stop eating them as they were so darn good! (: Facility is clean, bright with a casual vibe to it but missing the bright Mexican decor that many of the restaurants in the area have which to be honest does add a nice touch to dining experience but obviously pales in importance to the quality of the food which this restaurant excels at. Staff is prompt and quite friendly with good follow up throughout the meal where the cook/chef actually checked in on me asking how my food was. Nice! Overall if you are a fan of good Mexican food and in particular authentic Street taco's than this business will not disappoint. even though this was my first visit here it definitely will not be my last. read more

This place is great! Service, atmosphere, cost, and food are amazing! Highly recommend, especially for authentic Mexican food.

The Al pastor was great! I order this at every Mexican restaurant - I loved that they have pineapple in theirs. The chorizo was good but different flavor, the Birria was juicy- not super favorable but still good. I did not get any consume. The beans were okay - wasn't in love with them. The restaurant is immaculate. I like the aesthetics of the wood and the plants. The service was great but I was the only one in the restaurant at the time. However the cook - possibly owner came out to my table a to bring the food and got me more salsa - he was really nice. I'll come back here for sure. Oh! I loved that the corn tortillas were not dry ( sort of moist but not soggy) and had good flavor - they were probably the best I've ever had - usually I think they are dry and I don't eat them read more

I ate with my 91 year old Mother tonight. We can assure you El Rancho is trying to serve authentic Mexican food. I enjoyed street tacos (Lengua) my favorite, and she had enchiladas rancheras. I tasted hers and next time I will order enchiladas. I was pleasantly surprised at the flavorful black beans and please ask for their house made hot sauces. Yes there are two. One was considerablly hotter but both wonderful blend of chilies. Highly recommend just save a booth for me on Saturday night. read more

Great food, good prices, friendly staff. Noticed this place when driving by I never knew it was there. Glad I found it.

Just ate there today and it was excellent. The salsa with the chips had texture to it and was flavorful, not ground blender liquid. I had the quesabirria tacos, easily the best Ive had around here. packed full of tender beef, cheese onion and cilantro. Each bite I couldn't decide between using the consume, the spicy salsa or the green sauce. I ordered 3 but 2 would have been plenty. The rice and beans were on point, not thick but thinner (real) refried beans. Wife had the arroz con pollo with peppers and onions. This is her go to Mexican order. She had another local Mexican place as her favorite but she said Rancho Tapatio will be her go to. Service was excellent, never had to ask for the server. Clean and really relaxed vibe. Can't wait to return. I was very happy with our experience today. read more

Great service and good food. Arrived not sure if I would just take out and asked them if they had Mexican Coke. A server said yes and so I took a table and after getting chips and salsa placed on my table the server put a Mexican Coke down for me without ordering it. That's good service! read more

Servers are very attentive. Most of all, this place is spotless--if the outside and dining area are clean then so is the kitchen. The salsa and chips are fantastic. Highly recommend! Let's keep this restaurant going! read more

Friendly vibes good food fast service tasty chips and salsa with your meal i will be going again to show this place some love

My wife and I ate there tonight for dinner and it was fantastic! Wasn't super busy yet so we sat right down, immediately got salsa and chips delivered to us (which was also fantastic!). Both of our entrees were delicious and our server was super nice and on top of everything before we could ask. Definitely going back and glad to see another good option in walled lake!!!! read more

The restaurant was empty when we got there Saturday night. Service was quick and friendly, but unfortunately the food was nothing special and my wife's quesadillas came out loaded with onions when she specifically ordered them without. There are too many decent Mexican restaurants in the area to bother going back to this one! read more

GREAT PLACE! Absolutely loved the ambiance and service. The food was amazing and they have the best tocos! will be coming back :))

Super authentic, we loved it! Good pastor which is hard to find, shrimp tacos also great

Came here on opening day. Attentive staff but otherwise unremarkable food and sterile atmosphere under florescent lights. There are two basic types of Mexican restaurants in this area - taquerias with authentic offerings (lengua, menudo, etc.) with no bar but amazing food, and Americanized TexMex places with good margaritas, Mexican beer and fun music. This is neither. The location will face a challenge without street view signage tucked away behind the Walled Lake Wendy's and WOW gas station. If this restaurant is to succeed, it needs to do one of two things: 1) Go all out authentic taqueria with more traditional Mexican offerings that will drive people to its obscure location; or 2) Get a liquor license, build a bar, and make the place a cozy hidden gem with lively music that's inviting to a regular crowd. Either way, this place needs a warmer atmosphere and better food. La Casita is just down the road and the new Taco Bell is across the street which will draw both authentic and non-authentic Mex-food consumers away from a middle of the road offering that caters to neither. read more

I had dinner there on Monday evening. To my surprise my Street Taco dinner was Amazing!! This establishment actually gives you sizeable taco, loaded with meat... not like those 3 inch diameter tacos with a tablespoon of meat. Only thing missing, are cocktails and, they are working on that. Get the Street Tacos, you won't be disappointed read more
