Hello delicious Mexican food in west Oakland county!!! I was so excited this place is open because it's been difficult finding Mexican food that's really good out here for me. Stopped here last night for a carry out and this is a regular spot now. I ordered a taco dinner and the meats were very good. I had asada (steak), pollo (grilled chicken), carnitas (shredded pork). The grilled chicken was my favorite! All was good, but the chicken was flavored so well! I'm very picky about my rice and the rice was really good on flavor. I didn't dislike anything if I'm being honest. Pricing isn't too bad. It seems higher than a lot, but it's not for the area to be honest. I think they are a bit cheaper than other places. And portions are pretty good amount. Definitely support this business and happy taco eating!

Rancho Tapation makes some of the best authentic Mexican street taco's I have had in the Metro Detroit area. My Steak and El Pastor street taco's on corn tortilla's were very well made with tender meat, fresh cilantro and onions sautéed to perfection. So so tasty. Gratis house made chips and Salsa were excellent where I had a difficult time to stop eating them as they were so darn good! (: Facility is clean, bright with a casual vibe to it but missing the bright Mexican decor that many of the restaurants in the area have which to be honest does add a nice touch to dining experience but obviously pales in importance to the quality of the food which this restaurant excels at. Staff is prompt and quite friendly with good follow up throughout the meal where the cook/chef actually checked in on me asking how my food was. Nice! Overall if you are a fan of good Mexican food and in particular authentic Street taco's than this business will not disappoint. even though this was my first visit here it definitely will not be my last.

The Al pastor was great! I order this at every Mexican restaurant - I loved that they have pineapple in theirs. The chorizo was good but different flavor, the Birria was juicy- not super favorable but still good. I did not get any consume. The beans were okay - wasn't in love with them. The restaurant is immaculate. I like the aesthetics of the wood and the plants. The service was great but I was the only one in the restaurant at the time. However the cook - possibly owner came out to my table a to bring the food and got me more salsa - he was really nice. I'll come back here for sure. Oh! I loved that the corn tortillas were not dry ( sort of moist but not soggy) and had good flavor - they were probably the best I've ever had - usually I think they are dry and I don't eat them

Stopped in here for lunch. Location is clean and staff is friendly. They have a huge menu! Queso and salsa were great with fresh chips. The food came out promptly steaming hot. Overall great experience and I'd be back. Prices are super reasonable.

Unbelievable, beyond disappointing. The corn chips are quite greasy, but crunchy. The guacamole isn't too bad. We asked for jalapeños to add to it, we got pickled jalapeños. I would have thought they would have loads of fresh jalapeños, given the type of cuisine here. The pickled jalapeño gives the guacamole a very different taste to it. Cheese everywhere. Ugh. All over the taquitos and the chicken tostada too. The chicken in the taquitos are hard as jerky. The rest of the chicken in the taquito is super dry. The bean salad is so-so, has overcooked peas in it, corn, bland beans, red pepper, tomatoes. The chicken fajita is okay, a tad dry, there's some tomatillo or salsa verde in the grilled chicken with the red pepper, green peppers and onions. The small pico that comes with the fajita has good heat, from the fresh jalapeños. The quesadillas have a ton of cheese, not a lot of chicken inside, looks like an after thought. Service was ok. Food was subpar. Nothing notable.

I got the chicken tacos and 8oz side of rice and beans. Their menu read confusing, as they didn't have prices on the different meats, and tacos ranged from $2.99-$3.99 so I wasn't even sure how much my tacos would come to. I also thought it was 8oz combined of rice & beans for like $2.99 but I believe it rang up as individual 8oz containers. My total for the plate (3 tacos) & sides came to ~$16 without a tip or drink. The chicken tacos were SO bland. I tried adding more lime, the grilled onions, radishes, both the red and green salsas, and even rice and beans but nothing could rescue the flat flavor of nothingness every time I bit into my tacos. My red salsa that came with my plate was genuinely lame, it had hints of Tabasco sauce? Like they were trying to make it so spicy without any actual depth or flavor. I expected more from this place. I did try my friends steak from his taco and it was a bit more flavorful, so perhaps I got the wrong meat. Their employees were very nice and service wasn't too long, restaurant clean but limited seating! I would only return here to try the California burrito. I can find similar prices and great quality elsewhere.

It has a very simple but inviting atmosphere. The food smells good right as you walk in. It's very welcoming. We were greeted fairly quickly by our waiter who asked us if we wanted drinks I went with a rainbow margarita as that looked interesting. The drinks took probably 5 to 8 minutes. They brought out the chips and salsa pretty quick. The drinks came out. The margarita was ok for me. There were too many flavors that just didn't seem to go together. I would've preferred a standard margarita. It was ok not bad, but I wouldn't order it again. We placed our order for food. I went with the combination, dinner number 13, taco burrito and Chalupa. And we got a side of rice and beans. My wife ordered the vegetable fajita although the waiter told us ahead of time that the food was going to take a while as they were busy. It seemed like it came out in 5-8 minutes. It was fast. Chips and salsa are always good so those were fine. They gave us a couple of different salsa options which were good. For my food. The beef taco was really good. That was probably my favorite part of the meal. The burrito was chicken and was pretty good. Chalupa was not what I thought it was going to be basically it's a thin tortilla with a bunch of toppings piled on top of it that you just basically eat off of it with a fork. You can't pick it up and hold it as it's too heavy and the tortilla sits in sauce and other sides that then make it fall apart. My wife said her vegetable fajita was pretty good as well. The beans and rice were very average, not much flavor. Overall, the meal was decent nothing great nothing terrible just good. We may come back sometime as it is a nice place, the ambience is nice and the staff was great. But the food was nothing special aside from the beef taco that was delicious.

I am sorry I did not visit sooner. I believe it is more recent, within the last or so, and that it was a different restaurant before. The chips were exactly the way I like them, hot, salty, and crispy. The salsa was good too. We had a few drinks. Modelo Negra, which is smooth and drinkable. I had the Blue Cactus margarita, I highly recommend, and their version of the Stoli Doli, which was very nice. We had a combo plate and a giant chimi. The giant chimi is what I typically get at my favorite place, and this establishment did such a great job, I no longer have to drive out far to get it. It has both chicken and beef, and I love the pickled vegetables on top. I really want to try more drinks and some their desserts and maybe bring the kids next time, they would love it.

This place should be called "BLEW" Cactus Cantina because everything about my experience blew…read more I honestly don't know how anyone can say this is good food. I rarely write negative reviews and usually give restaurants the benefit of the doubt, but I can't let this one slide. I visited with my family of four (my wife and two young children). We ordered drinks and were served chips and salsa. The chips were hot--which, unfortunately, was about the only thing that was hot during our entire meal (except for the beans). The salsa came in a tiny bowl, and if you want more chips, salsa, or even water, you'd better ask. I agree with many of the other reviews regarding the service. The staff seemed either oblivious or simply uninterested. They were not attentive at all. The drinks from the bar took a while to arrive, and by the time my wife's margarita showed up, most of the ice had already melted. She ended up adding ice from her water glass. Then the food arrived. We ordered a kids' cheese quesadilla, chicken tenders and fries, an enchilada plate (two cheese enchiladas and one shredded chicken enchilada), and the veggie burrito meal. The problems started immediately. My daughter's cheese quesadilla wasn't even melted. It literally looked like someone sprinkled shredded cheese inside a tortilla and served it. We sent it back to be reheated. Next, my wife's veggie burrito was almost entirely onions. I'm not exaggerating--it was packed with onions and maybe three small pieces of red pepper. That was it. If that's what's inside, call it an onion burrito, not a veggie burrito. We sent it back and asked for a shredded chicken burrito instead. Then I tried my enchiladas. Once again, the cheese wasn't melted. To make matters worse, I ordered two cheese enchiladas and one chicken enchilada, but they brought me three cheese enchiladas. I took a couple of bites and couldn't eat any more. The food was bland and disappointing. When my wife's replacement chicken burrito arrived, it was a mess as well. The only other thing that was actually hot were the beans, and they were just okay. The chicken tenders and fries were fine, but that's hardly an accomplishment when all you have to do is drop them in a fryer. This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in a very long time. I left genuinely frustrated. What made the experience even more disappointing was the manager's response. The manager was aware of both issues--the unmelted quesadilla and the onion-filled burrito--yet nothing was done while we were dining. After I had already paid the bill, the manager finally came over and said, "Maybe we can do something." At that point, what exactly was there to do? A reasonable gesture would have been removing the onion-filled burrito from the bill or addressing the problems when they first occurred. They should have been embarrassed to serve food in that condition in the first place. I will NEVER, EVER go back there! I'm getting frustrated again just writing this review and reliving the experience. If you're considering eating here, consider this your warning.
