I was having lunch outside of El Munchies (eating Thai Touch) with my girlfriend this afternoon when we noticed a commotion across the parking lot. One of the Munchies employees (big guy, curly hair, wearing a El Munchies shirt, not wearing a mask) was yelling at one of the employees from the new pet store that just opened up. My girlfriend caught more of it than I did. I guess the pet store guy asked the Munchies guy to move his huge truck from the parking lot, telling him that the spots are for customers and that he himself parks on the street. The Munchies guy got nasty and was swearing at pet store guy, then moved into a spot in front of Munchies LOL. Not a good look, friend-o. It's hard enough to find parking in this lot or ANYWHERE in Glendale, so why take them from your customers? Surely the guys that own these restaurants are losing money because of that, right? I had to wait almost 5 minutes for a spot to open up in this lot and now I know why: Munchies takes them from their customers. I've been to Munchies a couple of times but after seeing their employee making a fool out of himself AND the restaurant, I think I'll give them a pass. Their dessert waffles aren't worth all that. read more

The corn is not canned to begin with, it was really dank! the shaved ice was really good too as well as the hot dogs! the only down part is that they take forever to get your order out but at least it tastes good! Over priced for the quality that they give. We went with high expectations due to other places similar. They didn't have half of what we asked for. The hot cheetos with nacho cheese & jalapeños were in way too big of a container, it looked like a snack size quantity of chips. Waffle & churro machines weren't working. I'm sad to have discovered this place just recently because as a Mexican in the Burbank area, I'm always looking for some authentic antojitos without going all the way into the valley or into Los Angeles. This is the closest throng to antojitos tasting exactly like home! The fresas con crema are exactly the sweat healthy alternative to ice cream! And the mangonada is perfect for these hot summer days! Both items were a bit costier than what I'm used to spending but the proportions are BIG. I had to eat it in two sittings (and I'm used to eating a big lunch!) First time here and was not disappointed! Being Hispanic, I was raised eating elotes from the elotero on the street so of course I had high expectations for the elote and I gotta say they definitely met those expectations. I got an esquite and it tasted very authentic, just like the corn from the elotero, it was very juicy and did not have that "canned corn" flavor that many other places that claim to sell "esquite" have. I also noticed in the back they were freshly cutting the corn off the cob for the esquite so I know it was fresh. I also tried their fresas con crema and they were by far the best I have had ,they were very creamy and were the perfect level of sweetness. Will definitely be coming back, the staff was very nice and welcoming and have very flavorful snacks. read more

I had the elote and Fresas con Crema and have the fresas con crema had to be one of the best I've ever tried ! The corn was very juicy and tender and well topped. Did the prices go up?? I went in YESTERDAY and ordered 2 esquites for about $5.50 each. I went in today again and now they cost $7.50 each for regular esquite without the hot Cheeto topping! Idk but $8 for an esquite is ludicrous. I liked the esquites but for this price I don't think I'm going back. Also FYI to management it still says $5.50 on yelp. read more

Ok , so my friend and I love to adventure and try new places. So one night super late we decided to try to find some elote. Mind you we live in Ventura county.(a good like 45 min drive) We saw that this place was open late and decided to go try it. We have now been twice in the last week! It is the best!!! When this place initially opened, they corn was always on point. Now it seems that it's always a hit or miss, more misses than anything. The corn tends to have a lot of hard pieces that one typically gets from slicing the corn too close to the cob. read more
