We had been walking in the area earlier that day and made a plan to come back for dinner. When we arrived there were a lot of people but we were seated immediately. Martin was our waiter and he was great. There were a few large screen TVs playing sports. There was live music. A lot was going on but it really worked. People were enjoying themselves and the wait staff was friendly and talkative. I ordered shrimp fajitas and my husband ordered the mole. He always orders mole. The meals were very good. We ordered a mango margarita and Tecate. The margarita came with a tehine rim. I just wiped it off. That is becoming so popular. I decided to indulge in the banana dessert and I am glad I did. It came with a show. That was fun and the dessert was delicious. We were there earlier in the evening and we saw many couples and families. I'm sure the place gets a little more livelier as the night goes on. If you are in the area, this is a good place to eat and enjoy your time in Cancun.

The fish order goes by per KG. and guesses what it was not expensive. 300 pesos for 1 kg Tikinxic Trad coro, and some other fish 300+ pesos. tikin xic is the preparation, not fish name. Tikin Xic, pronounced "teekeen sheek" in Yucatec Mayan and meaning "dry fish", is a fish dish prepared in the Meso-American style. The fish is prepared whole then marinated with adobo de Achiote and sour oranges then wrapped in a banana leaf and cooked in an earth oven beneath a wood fire in the side dish, rice-lettuce was there with beans and tortillas. the green sauce which was nothing but green chili sauce. mind it, it's very hot but good in taste ;) Waiter seems to very busy. Apart from fish, we ordered Mango Margarita, SOL beer, salsa Mexican. all Mexican restaurant serves their main items with tortillas (bucket of small tortillas) and sauce (green-salsa). you make taco and eat. it's the Mexican thing. Also, they don't serve water in the restaurant. I have read in blogs that one should be very careful with drinking water, but why restaurants don't serve drinking water, not sure. They had added gratuity in the bill. upon asking, you can change the % of tip. 20% is by default added. I have asked for the fresh bill and added 10% to it. one yacht came and all people got off and headed to another restaurant, seems they were under a part of some tour package. I ordered the Arrachera tacos, which were pretty basic. The meat was pretty tender and was not fatty or anything, but the beef wasn't particularly flavorful to me. Honestly, Parque las Palapas in Centro is the real taco spot. They have quite a wide drink menu, which I appreciated. All drinks are MXP165 as of Feb 2019, although the Margarita Golden is 320. I first ordered a Margarita Cancún, which was tasty and sweet. That was followed by the Margarita Golden with Grand Mariner, which was prepared quite nicely. These were definitely some of better margaritas that I've had in Zona Hotelera. Given the size of the Golden, I would say it is still a good value rivaling the States (well, the east coast, anyway). I ordered a second bottle of water that never appeared and then the server seemed surprised when I asked him to cancel it from the check. Then it was on the check, so I just had them bring the water after all. Service was OK. It took a minute to get the waiter's attention, and then it was ages getting the (incorrect) bill. On the plus side, since I was staying in the hotel, I had two coupons for a free drink--which counts as either a shot of tequila or a dessert drink, for the record. Note that they add an automatic 15-20% gratuity for parties of any size. Mocambo is convenient if you're staying at Hotel La Palma, although there are better options down the street. Probably a 2.5-3 on the whole
