I have had an amazing experience with El Monte Trucking School. I'll begin by saying that I attended a previous school that was about 5 min from where I live. Long story short, that school was one of the worst experiences of my life when it came to learning something new. After over a month of on and off so called "training" and set backs with the previous school and failing the skills at the DMV I decided to cut my losses and choose El Monte Trucking School (EMTS). The moment I began to talk with the owner Cruze Monge, I knew that this was the place for me. I knew the 35 min drive would be well worth it. The moment I met Cruze I knew that I would learn a lot and was soon motivated again. EMTS is a small family owned business. Cruze and his two sons, Jeovanny and Mario taught me all that I needed to know for my Air Brakes test, Pre trip, Skills and on-the-road driving in just ONE Week! What the other school failed to teach me regarding my skills and driving in a month, Cruze and his sons taught me quickly with great tips and direction. Very professional and the best part is that they give you one-on-one training. So, you're never waiting around for a truck or someone to teach you. Man, what a relief! Now, I'm not 100% sure, but I believe they have 5 or so trucks. And they are ALL clean, and in excellent working condition. Which makes everything easier to handle. And again, you're staying busy from the moment you get there until you leave. Always learning and always practicing. The course I took was two hours long with about one full hour of actual driving time. (Which is about the same that the DMV does)-Small streets, big streets and freeway driving. I went from "learning" in a POS 7 speed to confidently driving a 10 speed without any concerns. Down shifting and all. The best part besides their professionalism and truly caring for the student is that the day before your actual DMV test, EMTS tests you exactly the same way the DMV would. From the air brakes, cab, pre trip, skills and driving. And, what really helps out is that EMTS tests you on ALL the skills: straight backing, off set to both sides, parallel parking on both sides AND alley dock parking. So, if you pass that at EMTS there's a huge chance that you will pass at the DMV because the DMV tests you on 3 skills. So, I highly recommend Cruze and his family And wish them much success in their business because they know how to provide excellent customer service and just straight help you get it done with motivation along the way. read more

I got my license 6 months ago thanks these guys, and I absolutely enjoy truck driving. It's a decision I don't regret making and going with El Monte Truck Driving school was a smart choice. They were by far the cheapest (negotiable) and sensible school for me. The training is 100% hands on. YOU WILL PASS! Just show up and study and you should be good to go in less than three months. The instructors Mario and Geo taught well and are patient when you make mistakes. When I was there, the students are very supportive in helping each other. The classes aren't packed and at the most your paired with one person when your practicing driving skills or pre trip inspection. When your on the road driving, it's strictly one on one. The closer you get to your testing date, the more your study time and drive time will increase and your mistakes will be more scrutinized. By the time you go take your test, you will now your truck front to back and will be well prepared to pass the test. Everything these guys teach you, is spot on. I enrolled to get my class A license at El Monte Truck Driving School and it was the best thing I could have done. Since day one they made me feel welcome like if we already knew each other and their training program is spectacular. I never in my life have driven a semi truck and 4 weeks later I have my class A license incredible but true. Who ever out there is looking into getting a class A or B license I highly reccomend El Monte Truck Driving School. These guys really know what they're doing. Decades of experience have made them experts in getting you your license. At first you'll be frustrated with yourself cause it can be hard to get certain aspects, but they're very patient and knowledgeable and teach in baby steps so you can ease into it comfortably. Passed my exam on the first attempt. Just license to the instructors and apply what they say and you'll do great. Really no downside to going here. Family owned and operated and it shows! They have multiple trucks in their yard to practice all DMV required test truck skills and also have so much patience when they train students. 2019 ! I want to thank Mario and Geo for putting some much effort and time to get my cdl ! They take the time to show you every step.. I also like the fact that , it's a one on one !
