We originally signed up with AAA, and our experience was terrible. We couldn't get an appointment as everything in the afternoons were booked months in advance. By the third appointment, my daughter had not even left the parking lot. They also only do 1 hour increments which is so annoying. I looked around for another driving instructor and found America's Driving School Walnut. They would pick my daughter up from school, and have her drive all the way home, utilizing 2 hour increments; they can do more upon request. They are patient and encouraging, even took my daughter on the freeway! Sebastian was my daughter's instructor. When giving information about the test, Carlos was very knowledgeable. America's Driving School Walnut has me believing in miracles! My mom's doctor recently recommended she be retested for driving - totally reasonable given her age, but she was determined to pass. After passing the written exam, we was scheduled to take an in person driving test. We only ever have to take the driving test once in our lives when we first get our license but decades later things have changed. So we thought it best to reach out to Carlos at America's Driving School Walnut and ask for help! The quoted price for 2 hour lesson was very reasonable. I reached out via Yelp and he got back to me immediately. Communication was excellent and although my mom wasn't a new driver, he did not shy away from this at all. I set up the lesson for my mom, he met her at her home and showed her all the items in her car the DMV would ask about. He was meticulous and repetitive to help her retain the information. They hit the road and went over several other points of her driving and gave her a lot of tips on how to improve. Afterward Carlos called me to report what they went over and how he believe it went. he also had honest feedback about her driving, which I absolutely appreciated. The miracle happened the day after when she passed the driving test with 4 mistakes! She was elated and happy and said it was only because of Carlos' help. 100% recommend this driving school. I used America's Driving School a few months back for my son's 6 hours driving requirement. We signed up for 3 x 2 hour sessions. Carlos was his instructor and my son really enjoyed learning with him. According to my son, Carlos was patient and "cool". Carlos arrived in a newer hybrid Honda and invited me to observe what he went over with my son in the car. He made sure to put a plastic car seat cover on the drivers seat, and also provided bottles of water in case he got thirsty. After going over how to adjust his seat, mirrors, and reviewing all the things in the car that Carlos said would be asked of him during the test, they hit the ground running and took off! They do not have any "student driver" signs on the car as Carlos said he wants the student to have the true experience of driving, and if they get honked at, then they will learn! Haha. Carlos always gave me an update after each session and I could see my son gaining confidence on the road. He even took him on the freeway for a couple exits to experience that (my son said it was scary). ADS does local pick ups and drop offs and even offers to take you to the DMV for the driving test for an additional cost. read more

He speaks English and Spanish :D I was looking for a driving school near me & noticed this one had great reviews so I decided to call them. Carlos gave me a call back and was great at communicating back and forth. He explained to me the prices, schedule, and hours based on a few questions he needed to know about my driving. He asked how many hours I've put into driving already and permit information, to know the soonest time to be ready and take my test. He explained to me how everything works & was able to answer all the questions I had written. Lucky for me, he was able to explain everything to my parents who only speak Spanish. After getting off the call, he messaged me everything via message and that helped a lot! Making it easy to communicate as well, meaning no need to worry about forgetting about the dates and prices! Even though I've been practicing for some time, I went with the 6 hour course in order to be fully prepared. Carlos was great at teaching me everything I needed to know, he very attentive, gave me tips, and taught me the ways of the road. He answered all my questions, has patience, and is willing to work on anything you may have trouble with or are nervous about. They check temperatures with an infrared thermometer, they cover seats with plastic coverings that they put on new for every student when they enter the car, they give you hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes for you to clean the car to your liking. 2020 update update my daughter just passed with only one mistake!!! Two kids DONE! Great instructors! My son just completed 6 hours of behind the wheel. He has never been behind the wheel and was extremely nervous. Carlos took him out the first two hrs and my son came back encouraged. Then he went out with Yadir the next two lessons. In just 6 hrs he was driving good enough for me to trust him in my minivan! I also love that when he is driving he says they told me to do this and to do that, he obviously got many tips, some I didn't even know I was doing wrong! Make sure you ask what's included because they did not practice parking with my daughter, they didn't teach reversing, instructor seemed afraid didn't try the freeway which I've never heard a driving school not doing. I've been trying to learn how to drive since I was 17 (I'm 23) but no matter what I would freak out during the test and end up failing because of nerves. I honestly felt hopeless and like I'd never be able to calm down enough to pass the test. Then finally after almost a year of not driving, I ended up coming across this driving school and decided to check it out upon seeing the great reviews. Yader ended up being my instructor and he was amazing. He really worked with me to get me to relax and get out of my head. He was so patient and calm, which really helped me. I learned so much from him and he really reassured me. After 6 years of letting my anxiety get the better of me he was able to calm me down and sharpen my skills so that I would be ready for the test. These lessons made me feel so confident driving for the first time ever. On the day of my test I had another lesson with Carlos (who was also fantastic) and their car for the lesson. I ended up passing the behind the wheel test and getting my license!!!! This company and their driving instructors really go above and beyond to provide a quality experience and make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible.
