I love sit down Mexican Restaurants. This one seemed a little funky when we walked inside, but hey, maybe that's a sign of quality when it really comes down to it. Free chips and salsa as it should be. Both were ok. Nothing to write home about (and sometimes this is something to write home about). I got the Mole enchiladas which I was quite impressed with. The mole was on the sweater side for moles but was very smooth and still well balanced. Really quite delicious. And the chicken inside was not over cooked. The guacamole that came with it did seem like it came out of a vacuum packed bag - 2 stars on that. Beans and rice were not special (but are they ever?). My husband got tacos. He got a fish, a carnitas, and a carne asada. They make their tortillas fresh in house - 5 stars there. Carne asada was the tastiest. Really flavorful. Carnitas were nice and crispy. Fish was good, but didn't stand out. He did get to choose if he wanted it grilled or fried - really nice to have the option. He only order 3, but they gave him a 2nd fish taco for free for some reason. It seemed a little slow, but also I was really hungry, so maybe that's affecting my perception. The wait staff was attentive, but the food just seemed to be a while coming out. Pretty busy on Friday night at 7:30, but still not a problem to get a table. Very reasonably priced. Americanized Mexican for sure, but I happen to love that! They have the Molcajete - which looks really fun - but I just wasn't feeling up for that much of an adventure. read more

I stopped in because I was working accross the street and an employee recommend this place. When I sat down they brought me chips and two kinds of salsa (green and red) and a bean dip which was very impressive. All three were very tasty but I especially liked the green salsa. I had the chicken enchilada and steak taco combo plate which came with rice and beans. They were all very good. The meal was $11.25 and my drink was $2.25, total with tax was $14.62. I did notice that their tacos are $3 each which seems a bit high. I guess overall their prices are decent. They serve fresh brewed iced tea, which earns an extra star from me. This place is always busy , which reflects the great food served. We have been several times with complete ratification. The food is well cooked with generous portions. One can not find the same favours in other restaurants in Ukiah. The only negative to this restaurant is the service. You have to constantly ask for simple serve like refills. Delicious from the chips and dip to the mole enchiladas. Atmosphere was good, waitress was great!! We loved the bean dip that came with the chips so much we had them use those beans on our entrees. Didn't have any alcohol but I've heard great things about the options. I did however have the horchata and it was very good. Will definitely go back to try more things. read more

Definitely one of the best, if not the absolute best place for authentic Mexican food in Ukiah. If you are thinking about trying this place, do it. You won't be disappointed. Beware of the serving sizes, if it says it is big, it's big. But above all else, enjoy it. And tip well, the staff is great. read more

Absolutely delicious! My husband and I had come for lunch here once but did not really give it a chance. This second time around we had the super burrito and enchiladas and it was incredible! I really love the fact that the meat in the burrito was not burned or fatty and hard to chew. It was juicy and delicious and I am so happy with our selection here. read more

My bf and I dine here whenever we have the chance and it is always good. He usually gets the super burrito and I get the al pastor taco with rice and beans. We always enjoy the fresh chips with the salsas and bean dip as well. Today's salsa verde was particularly tasty! Bf always raves how good it is and for me, the meat with the taco is way too much in quantity for my taste so I always scoop the majority of it off to give to him but most of the time it is marinated and cooked very well. Been here a few times now and tried several dishes. Each meal was delicious and seasoned well. Plating was attractive and portion size was excellent. In celebration of National margarita day, my friend and I met up for some lunch and a pitcher. First of all, margaritas were excellent, tart, sharp and sweet. I had the abondiga soup, delicious, full of meatballs and vegetables. Wait staff is polite, patient, attentive and will make excellent suggestions. Food was served quickly and drinks were refilled promptly. The decor is slightly dated but clean and the room flows well. Outside seating area is a good choice on a warm afternoon. I've ate here a few times with my boyfriend and it's excellent. He usually gets the molcajete bowl that comes with steak, prawns, chicken, cactus, rice n beans in a sauce that is absolutely delicious. I've gotten the tour of mexico that came with a taco, enchilada, tamale all of your choice of meat, a Chile relleno and rice and beans. Everything was great but my favorite is the fried shrimp tacos. The bean dip, salsa and guacamole that come with the chips are all good too. The salsa is a little on the spicy side though. And I definitely like spicy. read more

Passing through Ukiah & stumbled upon this place. The chips & salsa were crusty & dusty, seemed like they were old. The bean dip was luke warm. Really bad first impression. I ordered the macho burrito & I ate two bites & regretted it. Food didn't taste fresh at all. Super bummed because this place had okay reviews. Not impressed. My waitress was nice though. First time I had food from here was a takeout burrito which I thought was excellent. I went back another time and ordered a burrito with Carnitas I was extremely disappointed with every bite of meat there was fat attached to it. If you're cooking Carnitas my understanding there wouldn't be any fat left. And if you're a cook why would you not trim off any fat before you stick it in somebody's lunch. I called the establishment talk to the manager explain to her my experience with the food I got from them. She listened to what I had to say and that was about it no offer to reimburse or discount so as to prove that they were better than that. So I have not returned and I will not have anything positive to say about that particular establishment. I see you lots of people eating there evidently they didn't have the experience I did. This restaurant use to be my favorite. They changed owner a couple of years ago. Now it's horrible. I was there recently and noticed that the price had jumped tremendously. That didn't bother me so much. I hat bothered me is I ordered two Enchiladas with h rice and beans. I couldn't believe what I got. The enchiladas were about 3" long and about 1" wide. N bet seen enchiladas so small in my life I got a couple of spoonfuls of rice and beans. It was served on a very small platter. It was like a child's plate!! stay away from this place!!! I'm going to start by saying this is the best Mexican food in ukiah. My family and I have gone here every Friday night for at least two years I knew the waitresses the owner etc. truly exceptional food. Now for why I gave it one star: I went there about two weeks ago and it took a half hour longer than normal to get food.... no biggie, busy night. Last Friday night.... tried again. Busy again but we ordered food and waited well over an hour to get our food and the whole time we watched as other groups came in after us and got their food and left. When I asked what the hold up was I was told computer issue they lost my order. So me being the sucker for punishment that I am.... went tonight with my son to get a quick bite of my favorite Mexican food. I sat myself at a table and told the waitress which booth I was taking which btw along with multiple others had not been cleaned. Sat at the table for 20-25 mins and didn't have a waitress look at me or bring me a menu a drink order NOTHING. Then as icing on the cake they seat another group give them their menus and take drink order all while I've been there for going on 30 mins. I got up, gave one of the waitress a piece of my mind and left. Whoever is running the place now needs to get their shit together because they are making a fantastic restaurant one I will never be a patron of again. read more

Delicious food, great service, you will not be disappointed! They start you off with 2 medium salsas, a bean dip, and chips that are all complimentary. For my entree, I chose the carne asada and honestly I'll probably order it again the next time I go because it was the BOMB DOT COM - I highly recommend it! I also ordered horchata, which was delicious. The only slightly negative thing I have to say is that the prices are a bit high, but the food is so delicious that you won't even mind! I walked in and was greeted with a smile and from then on was treated like a valued customer. lily and Stephanie consistently checked on me to see if I needed anything and they displayed amazing customer service. the food was just as amazing as the customer service. I had the chimichanga and the portion size was big. they give you tortilla chips with 3 sauces (salsa, green and bean) all three tasted amazing. flavors on point. The prices were extremely high and the waiters did not check in, we had to get up multiple times to ask them for napkins and refills. I went to this restaurant about a month ago, and I ordered the flautas. They were wonderful! Delicious! Then, yesterday, I went there with a friend, raving about how good this place was. I ordered the crispy tacos. The taco shells tasted like they came out a box of expired taco shells. They were falling apart, too, like cheap wallpaper. I was surprised that this restaurant, that I thought made everything homemade, was giving me this garbage. I told the waitress and she offered to bring me something else, and I told her that it was fine- I would just eat the filling with the chips that we had on the table. But, when the bill came, I was surprised to see that there was no discount on my meal. Not even 10% off? Really? I'll probably go someplace else the next time I'm in Ukiah. read more
