El Meson is a wonderful Mexican restaurant in Boone Village. Great service and good food sets them apart from other local venues. The dining room/bar is upscale. Angel, our server, welcomed us with a big smile the minute we walked in the door. He sat us in a quiet booth in front of a window. He made recommendations, kept drinks full and checked on us regularly. It was the kind of 5 star service that makes you feel special. They offer daily specials and have a special lunch menu. Traditional Mexican favorites fill the menu. Complementary chips and salsa come out to the table. The food comes out quickly. I ordered a Taco Salad with chicken. I could tell that the tortilla shell was freshly prepared. The salad was light and good with the chicken smothered in cheese and topped with fresh guac. My husband had the Burrito Meson. The burrito was topped with lettuce, tomatoes and cheese. Generous portions of fresh refried beans and rice were included. Our meal was great.

Always like goin to authentic style Mexican restaurants when I'm craving some queso and chips n salsa. Had been to other El mesons before in the area and this is one of their newer locations. The interesting thing about this location is the interior is bit more upscale looking, not the typical bright colorful wood carved tropical booths. And it's also never been busy when I've been, but the service is always pretty slow. The food is typical and tastes good. What you would expect. Mine wasn't very warm this time which was odd bc usually it's almost scalding hot lol. The queso is good, Chios and salsa taste great too. Definitely a great place to get your Mexican food craving just wish the service was better here for a more enjoyable experience without feeling like you are waiting on them to check back for needed dining items.

Was looking forward to trying the Mexican food in Indiana, and this place did not disappoint! Margaritas... delicious. Tacos? Impressive. Their menu had a great variety of dishes to choose from. My main dish was the Jalisco quesadilla, filled with fajita veggies, shrimp, steak, and chicken. I really only had enough room for half the quesadilla... definitely satisfying both taste and portion wise! If I were to come back, I'll have to try their QuesaBirria!!

A single serving of rice, refried beans, garnish, a dollip of guacamole and sour cream.

Takes me back to my childhood in the San Francisco Bay Area. WHEELCHAIR FRIENDLY - Manual and Power wheelchairs should fit with ease. Plenty of room to manuvour, tables and comfortable booths allow for in wheelchair dining or transferring to a booth very easy. When we dine I'm able to just park next to the booth without ever blocking people. I use a TiLite ZRA Series 1 wheelchair for reference. Once you have authentic Mexican food you will never think Taco Bell comes close. From the warm welcome as you're greeted to the excellent service you receive. The food is constantly excellent at El Meson. The decor is perfect, the music beautiful, lively and fits the mood quite well. Order anything you're interested in. We have not found anything we don't like. Five For ‍‍‍ access. Plus Five For down to Earth excellent customer service. Plus: For food that is cooked to absolute perfection each time. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the world, and especially to those in the Zionsville, Indiana area. Tune into AbiliTV on Twitch under Talk Shows and Podcasts let me know if I was correct in my 15 star out of 5 review. :) Reviews from my wheelchair on food and access.

If you were waiting for Zionsville to get a fantastic Mexican restaurant, that wait is over. We ordered through DoorDash and got the Arroz con Pollo and choriqueso. Absolutely delicious! The Arroz con Pollo we split three ways (lunch for one of us tomorrow) so the portions are huge! It was spicy and flavorful, the choriqueso as well (enough chips and dip for another meal). It's so convenient and close to home, I definitely found my new spot to pick up dinner!

The leaf in the quesadilla

The service was bad, The food was cold, and there was a leaf in my quesadillas. The prices were high and I had to pay $11 for 4 dinosaur nuggets. The girls bathroom stalls did not lock. I would not recommend

Service and quality with atmosphere... with good margaritas and good Mexican beer. But I can't forget their good tequila offering. Had a very enjoyable evening El Meson. The guacamole and queso was a great start to a great meal. Their Luiggie tacos with steak was very good, as was the shrimp quesadilla and fajita burrito ... will be going back real soon!!!

Since we'll be living in Zionsville for a while, we've been searching for our new go-to restaurants. Today we tried Salty Cowboy for the first time, and overall, we were impressed. We ordered the chips and salsa, tacos, and margaritas, and everything was very enjoyable. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. This could have been a 5-star review , but the chips tasted a bit stale and the salsa was somewhat bland and could have used a little more spunk. Aside from that, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend checking out Salty Cowboy if you're looking for good Mexican food in the area.

Apparently chips and salsa are no longer free. I had the short rib taco which was full of meat and quite tasty. The pickled onions on it though weren't really very pickled. They were okay but not great. I also had the mahi mahi taco and it was great and I loved the pineapple salsa.I opted for grilled shrimp but you could get them fried if you want. The big disappointment was the pollo con arroz that my husband ordered. It was luke warm. The waitress said no problem and she could get him a new dish quickly. She came back with that she claimed was a whole new dish in less than 5 minutes! I am sorry you can't make a whole new dish in 5 minutes. The rice was steaming hot. The chicken looked like chunks of boiled white chicken that had a cold crema under them so chicken was not hot. Not a lot of flavor. Very disappointing. Service was excellent.

This was great, served on a bed of greens (maybe a bit too much) and I selected the side of seasoned potatoes. Again, the avacado toast part was fine a Latino twist of flavors on a staple. The seasoned potatoes were way over seasoned. Everyone tried them and everyone said "oh wow. That's a lot" or offered their own potato side to share. The tres leches French toast wasn't what we pictured. The fruit was not "in" the bread but between the slices. The bread wasn't the best for French toast (like a brioche would be better) fruit looked fresh and crème part seemed great. Burrito was probably the go to. Looked good, held up well. That came with fries that looked better than my seasoned potatoes. The last plate was eggs, hash browns and carne. He didn't comment if it was fantastic or just ok, so assuming it was at least sufficient to good. His also came with toast. Because it was dry toast, my husband asked for jelly when the server came back to check on us; they brought him butter. I didn't have the coffee, but the rest of my group said the coffee was good. All three loved the coffee cups.

We asked for a list of domestic drafts and she told us about the imported beers instead. Outside of the language issues, she was attentive. Our orders came out quickly. The menu is comprehensive with the usual Tex-Mex options. The margaritas looked amazing. We ordered a couple draft Modelas, to enjoy with the complementary chips and salsa. The chips were fresh and not overly salty. The salsa tasted refreshing with bits of onion. My husband had the Burrito Deluxe with beef which was massive, beautiful covered in a cheese sauce. He said that the slow cooked beef tasted very tender and good. I had the Seafood Enchiladas del Golfo which was a blend of shrimp, bay scallops, (imitation) crab and broccoli, carrots, cauliflower wrapped and covered in a verde sauce. I wasn't sure that I'd like the broccoli in an enchilada, but the grilled veggies were very good. The shrimp were large and juicy. The dish was served with rice and a salad on the side which were ok. Portions were generous. The dining room is colorful the tables that are private. The full bar is tiny. Parking is congested and difficult to maneuver. Overall, the food was ok, but nothing special.

The presentation was nice however. Kids said the black beans were bland and added a bunch of salt (unfortunately). While the plain cheese quesadilla was good; the ground beef one was nicely filled with beef but it was SO GREASY it was inedible. Service was excellent. I did think about ordering a skinny margarita but it was $17.99, so skipped it. Probably will choose elsewhere next time.

I'm not sure if it's customary for them to include chips and salsa with every order, but that was a pleasant surprise. My additional toppings were not added to the tacos but came served on the side. The portion sizes were generous for the lettuce, cheese and sour cream. The tacos themselves were flavorful with generous portions of tender meat, and everything tasted fresh.
