Service was poor, environment was not welcoming, and food was subpar. Waitress disappeared and then there was a significant wait to pay because no one was at the register. read more

We had a family lunch and the food was good. The margs were fun and made it a good time! Otherwise, regular food you would find at any Mexican restaurant. Service was good. Queso was okay. read more

With all the competing Mexican Restaurants in Lebanon, El Meson has stepped up their game! My companion and I were pleasantly surprised at the amazing food we had from their new menu. They have changed their management personnel and have revamped their dining room. Kudos to El Meson for going the extra mile! read more

The food here is AMAZING! It's our go to place when we don't want to cook at home! The food is authentic and delicious. I've never had a bad meal here and the lunch service is so fast too! read more

The food was very good as it always is. The service was also great as always. The servers are very attentive.

I stopped in for lunch after running some errands-I work from home. I was not disappointed! I like flavorful Mexican food, not the bland salt and pepper only Mexican places like el toro. The service was great, the waitress was very attentive. I started with the choriqueso and also had the burrito gigante. I stuffed myself, and had leftovers! I got the burrito with ground beef, but next time I'm going to try the spicy chicken because the salsa has a little kick so I'm sure I would like the spicy chicken, too. Their website is very outdated with prices (double by their current menu) so I attached photos of the menu. Looking forward to going back! read more

Since I'm a lover of Mexican food, I would recommend El Meson. The interior is decorated very tastefully and inviting. The staff s very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The food and drinks were very tasty and delicious. For anyone wanting to experience delicious Mexican cuisine, I highly recommend El Meson! read more

Pretty run of the mill Mexican sit down food. There wasn't really anything here that deviated from the template. Colorful decor and your usual choices of chimichangas, burritos, American tacos, etc. One oddity was that beers came in small, medium, or large. I suppose that's a good thing if you're having a night out. But if you want to stay sober, then I'd note that small is beer-sized, medium is more than a pint, and large is giganto. read more

Double check your order when you pick it up. This is the second time I have ordered two of something, and only received one. I was charged for both. read more

This is one of the two Mexican restaurants in Lebanon, and my preferred option. Our service is always top tier but when we order a to-go they typically miss some of our order. Definitely always check before you leave! The food is pretty basic chain Mexican cuisine. Nothing crazy, but gets the job done. My go to is the chicken fajitas They probably give two meals worth of food. read more

This was probably one of the best Mexican restaurants I want to in a long time! The food was outstanding they give you good portions, and I like that they give you a military discount that says a lot for their character and our waiter Kai or Kal not sure how he spells it. He was the manager on duty tonight, and he just was outstanding. He was very personable very attentive. I couldn't say enough about this restaurant. The bathrooms were very clean Restaurant. read more

Worst service ever. This is the second time we have been here and had bad service. First time went there and I asked for shrimp and I received steak. Not really a big deal but I think I was the only table there. This time the Manager was so rude when I made a comment he told me why did I come here if I have problems. This is not a why to talk to a customer. I have worked in service for over 10 years and would never talk like that in front of guest. read more

Their advertising is correct; the margaritas are fantastic. The secret, apparently, is the absence of commercial mix, so the margaritas do not have that syrupy taste. Their chips and salsa are standard fare, though. My husband thought his burrito flavorful; the taste came thorough well. I loved the enchiladas I ordered; again, the sauces are flavorful. Wait staff are professional and informative. Definitely worth the visit, and planning to come back repeatedly. read more

Good experience and food! Stopped in on a Sunday just after opening. The place filled up really quick, I was surprised to see so many people that early. It was reassuring about what to expect in the food quality. I wasnt disappointed. I ordered the Wet Burrito, it has grilled chicken, shrimp, rice and covered in queso, shredded lettuce topped with pico de gallo.they also had Jamaica which was pretty good too. Honestly I dont think there was anything stellar about this place other than good food at a reasonable price. I will definitely go back to try other menu items. read more

Better experience this time and quick service. Ordered food with family. I got 2 burritos covered in sauce and Queso. The queso was warm and fresh and the red sauce was tasty. The burritos were warm and big and the beans tasted well seasoned. The chips and salsa were good too! No unforeseen added hidden costs or unpleasant experiences this time which was a plus! The best Mexican in Lebanon :) read more

I placed an order over the phone using the online menu. When they gave me the price over the phone, I thought it was a bit high, but wanted to double check before I said anything. After checking, I was sure the price I was given was incorrect. When I went to pick up my order, I brought this up and was shown my receipt. The charge was different on both items. When I asked about it, I was told the online menu hadn't been updated yet. I asked for the prices to be changed, but they refused. I paid their price, but I won't go back. I also didn't get the quac with my order. On a positive note, what we did get, did taste good. read more

This place is very noisy, the rest rooms are dirty, there was no soap in the men's restroom, the urinal was over flowing. As for food service was slow, the 2 burgers ordered were supposed to be without onions and without all items. They both came with all add on's. Everytime I have gone here I get acid reflux. Don't waist your time going here. read more

I really liked this Mexican eatery! I was here with my guy and his 3 boys for a family dinner. They servers tag teamed out table and made sure we had everything we needed. Never ran out of chips, salsa or drinks. The server was patient as the kids ordered, it was a challenge to get them to make a decision about what to eat but our server was not phased at all. After we ate dinner we ordered dessert, it was a special occasion. The kids each ordered something, but one of the items were sold out so an alternate choice was made. Then after our server left, she returned to let us know they kitchen was not out of the dessert one of the boys wanted. I thought that was very nice and super attentive! Please keep in mind we dinned on a random Wednesday evening and early as the boys had cubs scouts that night. This was not a relaxing dinner for the adults but the food was good. I had a chicken with chorizo dish served with sautéed veggies covered in cheese sauce. Total win for me!! All my favorite things and no carbs so I could eat more chips and salsa. :) We have dinner plans with the boys again this coming week and I am requesting we go back here because I loved the food and service! read more

It is a typical Mexican restaurant. The service makes it better than the "other" restaurant in town. Don't have to wait to be seated and they bring you your chips and salsa very quickly. Bathrooms need remodeled but are clean. I do wish they would play Mexican music and get rip of the TVs. If you are attached the a tv that bad, that you can't get away for an hour, you need to re-evaluate your priorities. read more

I've only eaten inside the restaurant a few times, mostly I call in for a to-go order. That said, their service could use a lot of work. The few times I've eaten there have been mostly great - a little slow sometimes but those were busy nights & the drinks were great! However when I call in an order there have been times that even after multiple calls I don't get an answer. And several times I've asked for sour cream to be added - sometimes it's put directly on the burrito with a small charge. Other times I've been given a container that jacks the price up by $4 or more dollars. The food is amazing however and this is one of my favorite places to eat so I strongly recommend it! read more

In Lebanon, Indiana there really is no question that El Meson is the Mexican/texmex choice for lunch and dinner. Fresh made chips and salsas (if you like spicy ask for the tomatilla salsa) are really good and their menu is large and varied. Great margaritas and beer are available too. My favorites are the Carne Asada Tacos, Polo Loco and Enchiladas Encremadas. If you like truly authentic Mexican food they can satisfy you completely; or if you prefer a more Americanized or texmex meal, they have that covered too. The staff are friendly and the management is welcoming. I used to go to the "other" Mexican joint in town but by far El Meson is the much better choice! We are regulars go to El Mesons every week. The serving sizes are huge, so go with an appetite! read more

We walk in and the host is talking to a customer. No big deal. But after a few minutes I notice that they're just talking about every day life and the customer has already paid. Finally the host looks at me while the customer is talking to him, points to a booth, and says 'there's a booth for you.' Thanks. We sit down and wait for a good five minutes. (I was watching my phone because I was waiting on a phone call.) finally our waitress comes by and ask what we want to drink. I shrug and say, 'we don't have menus so idk.' She rolls her eyes and continues to just stare at us waiting for an answer. So I say 'I guess root beer?' She then looks at my fiancé and I say, 'I think she's waiting on you babe.' She just says water and lemonade and the waitress walks away without saying anything. I look at the time and say, 'if we don't get our menus in five minutes, we're walking out.' She comes out and tosses our menu on the table. Slams our daughters lemonade on the table to where our five year old even looked shocked lol (deer in headlight look). She says, 'I'll give you a few.' 15 minutes pass by (no joke. I was watching the time) so we just walk out. We're not coming here again. We'll go to El Jaripeo from now on (which is where we went after leaving here. Amazing!) read more

I love it here! I have taken many visitors here and every time they are in Lebanon they want to go back. The food is wonderful regardless of what I order. The decorations and the handmade furniture is so wonderful I wish they could hook me up with the seller! read more

My family and I went here for a late lunch this past Saturday before grocery shopping. Very colorful interior, friendly server - walls were a bit dirty though. Didn't think much of it. We placed our drink orders - all non-alcoholic, and it took 15 minutes. No biggie, but when she came back she asked if we were ready to order. We had no menus, no silverware, no chips. So she apologized and about five minutes later we received those items. A few minutes later we ordered and our food was served quickly. We were all finished with our food and waited. And waited. And waited. We finally got up and walked up to the cash register to get our bill. Several minutes later someone came up front so we could pay. Before we could leave, two of the four of us vomited in their restrooms. The other two of us at the grocery store. We all felt horrible for the rest of the night. I contacted the restaurant that night to let them know we were all sick. The person I spoke with was very kind, but did not offer to refund our money, just thanked me for letting her know. Never again. read more

Very generous portions and the best house Marg I've ever tasted! The "tall" draft beer was more like a half pitcher size . . . The fajita steak burrito was huge and not a bit of gristle in the meat. A real deal buster for my wife . . . would highly recommend this place . . . read more

Came into town to visit friends and was greatly disappointed in food and service. Service was slow and the food and drinks were overpriced. To top the experience off they were unable to serve us cold beer and became angry when we left because of it. "Only in America would someone be angry about hot beer." Not even sure I know what that means but as an American I was highly offended. read more

Being in my hometown I eat here almost every weekend. The food is always amazing and very flavorful. The atmosphere is great and everyone there is super friendly and outgoing. I've only had to wait longer than five minutes to be seated once and they took a percentage off the bill because of it. The management is wonderful and the staff is always very happy and pleasant. The chips and salsa that are offered as soon as you are seated are always warm and fresh and the salsa is very authentic and has a nice medium spice to it. The food is always out within about ten minutes of placing your order and contains very fresh perfectly cooked meat and veggies. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves a relaxed and personable eating environment. read more

Best way to spend Father's Day is with tequila and tacos. We have been here a few times and have enjoyed the service. We made a last minute decision to visit on Sunday to avoid cooking. The house salsa has a bit of a kick to it. Peppery not jalapeno hot. Queso was delish. Ordered a pitcher of margaritas, on the rocks of course. Great value and tasted perfect. I would have loved more but responsibility called. Food was fresh and fast. Surprised to see a version of street tacos on the menu. Cliantro and onion topping the tacos instead of just lettuce and cheese. Nice change of pace from other restaurants. Good selection of dishes and something for everyone. Someone nearby had this amazing shrimp cocktail concoction. That is the next thing I'm ordering while there. read more

El Meson has a great atmosphere for families, which is typical of Lebanon. I have several favorite plates here, the steak tacos with corn tortillas being my number 1 pick. The people who work here are friendly and very polite. My stepdaughter usually asks to tweak her order by making some of her food "plain" (like kids do), and they do not hesitate to make her happy. Save room for dessert! Make sure you try the fried ice cream! read more

The food here is delicious. I visited this place while on a company trip. I decided to try their Horchata; it was amazing. I ate the chicken and rice meal and it did not disappoint me. My coworker mention that the tacos were very tasty. Another coworker who dislikes hispanic cuisine try the burger with fries. He did not complain and asked for extra fries. The taco salad another coworker ordered looked huge. The staff was super friendly. We had 6 in our group. They were very accommodating to us, as we walked in at lunch time, hungry and tired from working so hard. I plan on visiting this place again when we come back next year. read more

Well, as always, I feel a bit torn with no half star options on the review. I'll start with the positive. The service was absolutely stellar, on a Friday night, prime dinner time. Friendly and professional, we felt welcomed from the start, and the fact that they really appreciated us being there. The chips were...well, they were pretty much your standard chips. The salsa? Amazing. Love, love, LOVE it. The food....it was average or maybe a little below. I got a combination platter. The taco was good, not great. The tamale was VERY good, the chile relleno was quite disappointing. I'd call the service a 5, the food a 2. A 2.5 star review would probably be more accurate. read more
