Very great, authentic food. The horchata is house made. The red fish was some of the best fried fish I've ever had. Always worth the walk over from Helicon. Food comes out fast and the staff has always been nice.

We are staying at a local hotel before our flight in the morning and found this amazing restaurant on Yelp. WOW!! if you want authentic Hispanic food this is a place to go. They do not have a liquor license, but you can BYOB. Delicious food (and a lot of it!) Thank you to Jose for the wonderful food & conversation!

El Marro is a cute little spot with just a handful of tables to dine-in. The service was great, with both guys working being so friendly and attentive, but we weren't very impressed by the food. The complimentary chips and salsa were delicious and flavorful, but the beef tacos and chicken quesadilla were just okay... not bad but nothing great about them. They seemed kind bland, as did the sides of rice and refried beans.

El Marro is a quaint little restaurant in the Oakdale business district. As we entered, we were greeted promptly and both guys working were very friendly and attentive. They have a small dining area with about 6 tables. The lighting in the dining area is very bright, maybe could have a dimmer lighting. All the food came out very fast. We ordered the flautas for an app and they were delicious with the chipotle mayo for dipping and they were stuffed with shrimp. They had very good flavor. For our entrees, we got the steak burrito and the enchiladas. Both dishes were very filling and were very tasty. We are new to the area and glad we checked out this little gem in Oakdale.

    Street Fish Tacos

Wow. This is definitely a hidden gem. We got the Flautas de Camarôns. They are crispy, but not over cooked with tender shrimp and a delicious savory sauce with a perfectly balanced Chipotle mayo. Then fish tacos perfectly fried in deliciously seasoned dough with nice crunch from hard shell inside of soft shell with pico adding the perfect freshness (rice/beans not pictured but also hood). However!! The special combination caldo is one of the best things I've eaten. The broth (made with grouper) is so umami flavorful with just the right hint of spice and plentiful seafood. If its offered it's an absolute must try, as my best description is a hug in a bowl. It was huge, and I could not stop eating it. Then the fried plantains with dulcet is a perfect end to a fabulous meal. Their prices are extremely reasonable for the amount and quality of the food. Our server was also the chef so was able to provide extra details and information. This is not even mentioning the table salsa and chips which were also delicious with the salsa very fresh and refreshing.

Great food. The ambiance made us feel like home. It was very clean and the service was great.

I was excited that I stumbled into to this place. The menu looked great. I gave it s shot. I was not impressed. Greasy fried fish tacos. I could. ot really even eat any of this food. I never heard of greasy fried fish tacos. I most likely will not come back.

Great small authentic Mexican restaurant that was delicious and had excellent service. Definitely recommend!

Came in on a Thursday night for takeout. I was greeted immediately by the staff, as well as the bright decor and string lights. I ordered the quesabirria (order of 3). The man who took my order said it would be about 7-10 minutes, but I'd be surprised if it was more than 5 minutes. They were super quick! I drove right home, opened the container, and the food was still piping hot. The salsa picante on the side is amazing. The quesabirria was PERFECT. Juicy, flavorful, cheesy, delicious. The prices are very reasonable. I will be back! I have my eye on the chocoflan.

The flan was tasty. Not too sweet.

Might be the best restaurant value in Pittsburgh. I had the Diablo shrimp and flan for dessert. Deceptively simple presentation with sophisticated taste. If I lived here, I'd be a regular. If you want to drink, BYOD.

Great service, AMAZING food! Do not walk, run here for an awesome meal! In the heart of Oakdale, you will not be disappointed.

The portions are on the smaller side, but by the end of the meal we were completely satisfied. Our only disappointment was the fish entrées, as both were a bit overcooked. Our server was excellent and the auxiliary staff were courteous and efficient. We started with a calamari appetizer which was a little spicy but delicious. Beware of the two Thai chilies in the mix! Next my husband had the lobster bisque. It was quite rich with a large chunk of lobster as a garnish. Our main courses were a 10 ounce filet, wild caught shrimp stuffed with crabmeat and Chilean sea bass. Everyone loved their entrees. Our son especially loved the filet, it was so tender. We ordered two side dishes for the table and they were plenty for the three of us. Decadent lobster mashed potatoes and crabmeat fried rice. We shared a dessert, creme brûlée which was topped with fresh berries and served with chewy cocoa snowflake cookies. Overall the food was excellent. Service started out a little rocky. I had made a reservation online and it would only let me choose a high top. We don't like high tops so I called the restaurant a few days before and they assured me they could accommodate us with a regular table, not to worry. Upon entering and giving my name for the reservation, the Maitre D'être said it's for a high top. I explained that I'd called and we didn't want a high top. He said he could only offer us a booth in the lounge, so we took it. The lounge had a jazz trio playing and the music was a bit too loud for comfortable conversation. The server had to talk above the music to be heard by us. Luckily they took a break and when they came back the volume was lower. As we were leaving I noticed there was a whole dining room with empty tables which were NOT high tops. So why did they seat us in the lounge? Our drink orders were pretty simple, however because they serve the cocktails from the shaker, the server mixed up the dinks and poured my husband's margarita into my 'dirty' martini glass. So I had a three blue cheese olive margarita! A margarita-tini! He realized what he did, apologized and ran off to get another margarita for my husband. I had eaten the olives and tasted the margarita, which was very good. When he returned, he asked if I still wanted the martini and I laughed and said, yes, that what I ordered. So my husband got the benefit of two Margaritas for the price of one and I got three extra blue cheese olives! That was the only goof up. The rest of the meal was flawlessly served. I felt that even though the prices are high, the portion size and the quality of the food provide a good value. You expect to pay more in a place like this. It was well worth it in my opinion. And if you are there during Happy Hour you can choose cocktails and appetizers from the Happy Hour menu which is quite reasonable.
