Frozen Marg @ $13 w/one oz pour to keep it light. Margs 1/2 this size will cost you $20.00 3.9 miles down the street. Let's taco about their tofu tacos served in a crunchy shell w/side of hot sauce, black beans & rice and complimentary tortilla chips & salsa w/small guac ($3). They also have an outdoor patio area outside w/themed music playing inside. Attentive service.

Great menu, great friendly service, great prices. Cannot complain! (Their carnitas burrito is also amazing)

We have had the pleasure of dining in the patio area twice this summer, and I am happy to report that we have enjoyed our beverages and our food.

Went there for a Friday lunch and they had tables available. Ordered a house margarita which for some reason tasted terrible. Hence the 3*. The green enchilada was good. The other dish was also just ok.

For my birthday this year, my family set up a social-distanced private screening at the local theater, and when the movie was over, we were looking for a safe, fun, tasty place to grab a bite to eat. El Huipil's outdoor seating was the perfect find! I had a strawberry margarita and quesadillas with chicken - both delicious! Service was quick, friendly, and helpful. (visited 11/7/20)

Great tasting food! A cute little place and great eating space when the outdoor area is open in warmer weather.

Is great food and great service Love to have new places to…read morego w great food and drinks Totally recommend it

There are two parts to this review the first will be the food, it was amazing. The second will be…read morethe service, it was abysmal. 1) The food was mostly delicious. It was late in the evening so we opted to share Queso Fundido and the Texas Fajitas. The Queso Fubdido was meh. Nothing terrible about it but nothing good either. The fajitas were delicious. As a Texan I still find humor when restaurants name something for Texas and then deliver a dish that has nothing to do with Texas but the fajitas were delicious regardless. Thin strips of steak and chicken. A healthy portion of shrimp. So good. I love when a sizzling plate puts a little char on the veggies and this was done to perfection. Absolutely delicious. My only complaint is that they put cilantro on their guacamole. I am one of the 14% who think it tastes like soap. I love avocados, I love guacamole, I can't do it with cilantro. I hate that cilantro has taken off in recent years. Please make guacamole without cilantro. It can be added. 2) The service. Ugh We were seated promptly and had water and menus almost immediately the young waiter was pleasant and took our orders. I asked if I could keep the menu to look over the drink list and he obliged. Everything going well to this point. When he came back with the food, he never did come back to get a drink order, he turned and left after grabbing the menu. I tried to get his attention, not happening. This is where it really goes downhill. Not once during the entire evening was our water refilled. Not once. I made multiple attempts to get his attention, we even made eye contact a couple of times, and no water refill. People sitting around us had bottles of water to refill their glasses with, not us. We had spent a long day hiking and, while not parched, were thirsty. When the food was delivered I asked for water but he had turned around and walked away. He was very attentive to the difficult table next to us. Difficult only because he couldn't figure out how to split the check between five people. He came back and forth to their table no less than six times and still wouldn't bring us more water. As we finished our meal we decided to try a piece of Tres Leches cake and waited and waited and waited for him to come by. He came by, still trying to figure out the bill for the table next to us, but never even looked toward our table. He was literally standing one foot away from me at one point and I called to him and he never turned around. Finally my wife stood and motioned for him. He finally came over so we could ask for the check. I also asked for a water refill. He brought the check but no water refill seriously. We believe in tipping well and did tip this person 18% but our usual is 25%. To sum it all up, delicious food, lousy service.

I have visited the Newton location many times and excellent pizza. I was in the area late evening…read morebefore their 9 pm closing and i opted to try the Sudbury location . It is larger than the Newton spot and a bigger bar area, more extensive menu with many pasta dishes, appetizers. The pizza is my preference . I ordered the Dante pizza and very good meatballs slices on the pizza . The beer selections on draft are all good. I think the pizza crust was better on the Newton pizza... or a perceived perception? But maybe because I really enjoyed the Newton pizza which was the L'oscar which was grilled onions, sausage, mascarpone , olive oil, mushrooms, mozzarella. Maybe the Newton water vs. Sudbury water in the dough theory or maybe I am just being an over anal analyst of the dough? Either case both locations have great pizza. I would test the water at both locations and see affects on the dough and which water had better preferred pizza dough qualities ? Maybe then filter the water or Bri g a 5 gallon jug of the better water for the dough ? Maybe the dirty Boston water or New York water in Bew York bagels theory? Or maybe who cares ? On a different note; The oven baked wings I had in Newton were very good and meaty with the grilled onions ... I do have 1/2 pie to save for next day lunch as their pizza reheats well. I like both locations and Sudbury easier parking .

I can't believe I haven't written a review for Max and Leo's until now! I've been coming here for a…read morewhile and am always happy with my meal. I usually sit at the bar, which is very cozy and comfortable, order up a nice Jack's Abbey House Lager, and a build-your-own pizza. Their pizzas are great. They're coal fired and although they always have some char (by design) the crust still has a nice chew to it. They seem to have really perfected the dough recipe. Everyone who works here is super friendly, and the vibe is relaxed. I love coming to Max and Leo's whenever I get the chance!
