My coworker took me to this panaderia to try according to her "The BEST SWEET BREAD" in town and she was not lying! This in in fact the best sweet bread in town! We went around 0820 and it was freshly made and still warmth to the touch! It was a perfect balance of soft and sweet texture that was evenly balanced. The prices were reasonable for the sweet bread. They also sell tamales, homemade tortillas, menudo, platillos, and burritos. They take cash, credit cards and including Apple Pay! The staff speaks Spanish and English! They were very polite and friendly! There is enough sitting to sit and eat and drink along with friends and family. Overall it's very culture oriented and welcoming.

This bakery also has a sit down restaurant with friendly service and a nice atmosphere. As soon as you walk in you can smell the fresh baked bread which smells so bomb! The food was simple but very flavorful (especially with some hot sauce)!

Delicious pan dulce! Private parking on the side. Helpful if you speak a little Spanish, but it's fine if you don't. Seating available inside. Authentic Mexican sweet bread! I need to come back to try their menudo on the weekends and tamales as well!

Great little Mexican Bakery. So many options to choose from. We had the breakfast burritos and a tamale and they were solid. The tomatillo salsa was thick and perfect. Really cool hole in the wall spot we enjoyed. Recommended!

Only had the empanadas (pineapple and pumpkin) and they were amazing for $3.00. Definitely a place to visit for very reasonable prices.

Ask the Community - El Dorado Bakery

Can I buy fresh hand made flour tortillas here?

I believe so. I have seen flour tortillas in bags next to the trays where you use one to pick out your bakery items.

Is English spoken here? Craving traditional Mexican pastries but my Spanish is terrible. Are credit/debit cards accepted?

Every time I've gone someone on staff knows enough English to get you taken care of- cards are accepted as well. You just grab a tray and tongs and pick out which bread you…

I am Mexican and my family makes some of the same sorts of pastries- these were fantastic! To start, as we came in, we were offered a biscochito to try while we decided on what to order. Honestly, the decision was hard... so many delicious looking things on the menu but finally decided on a salami and provolone sandwich, with green chile bread. Wow! Amazing sandwich, fresh, delicious! While we were enjoying our food, Pratt Morales, the owner and master baker, came out and talked to us for a while. This was a real treat, great positive attitude and love for what he does. He even introduced us to one of his specialties the Turkey shaped bread he makes for Thanksgiving. So popular now he gets hundreds of orders per year. We left with some biscochitos and other cookies to go, and a desire to try more things when we are back in Albuquerque.

He even joked that they were "out of everything," which got a laugh and set a fun, relaxed tone. The music was rocking when I walked in, which I loved, although it eventually switched to something a little more mellow. Still, the overall atmosphere was inviting and made me want to stick around. I ordered an Iced Americano, and it was solid. You can tell they use quality espresso, but I personally would have liked it just a bit stronger. Next time, I'll probably ask for an extra shot to make it perfect for my taste. The real standout was the cinnamon roll. It had the ideal texture with a gooey, cinnamon-filled center, and they certainly didn't skimp on the cream cheese frosting. There was enough frosting to induce a sugar overdose, in a good way. The shop itself was clean, comfortable, and designed to make you want to stay awhile. They have a huge selection of board games and LEGO sets, so you could easily spend a couple of hours hanging out with friends or family. I also asked about the stage and learned they host karaoke and open mic nights a couple of evenings each week, which adds another fun reason to come back. Between the genuinely friendly staff, quality coffee, incredible cinnamon roll, and welcoming atmosphere, this is a place I'll definitely be visiting again.
