They also sell tamales, homemade tortillas, menudo, platillos, and burritos. They take cash, credit cards and including Apple Pay! The staff speaks Spanish and English! Can I please give it a 10? Holy moly bakery! Self service, grab a tray and some tongs and start loading up. Head on up to the register for them to bag it up! (You can watch the guys in the back rolling out the door)! Churros with some melty Carmel something in the middle was absolutely delightful! They had these pink balls that reminded me of zingers, but were soooooo much better! Apple empanada was just amazing.... YUM The bin of bread YUM! Came again after a year and a half, bread is still super fresh and delicious, got three including a cinnamon roll. Bag of (old?) bread was still super soft too, four in the bag. Cinnamon roll was dry, was pretty disappointed. The bread here in general is better than El Dorado #3 on Coors Blvd since it's softer and fluffier, but the cinnamon roll is not as good. The 3 breads and bag of old bread was $6.20, prices seem to have increased quite a bit since fall 2020, but I guess that's expected. Still a great spot! read more

Stooped by yesterday morning when they opened. I read about this bakery in an article and I'm always looking for good pan dulce. The bakery is in an older neighborhood and parking is tricky. The two areas I found are not paved and there are very large potholes in the lots I found. The inside of this shop is old. It's not bright inside but there is seating so I'm sure they serve alot of meals from what I read. Maybe we got there too early, the selection was not large. I did find my favorite, chocolate conchas!! While the bolillos weren't going to be ready for 20 minutes, I was ok with what I chose. Chocolate conchas (sea shell shape with chocolate topping ) and Pina empanadas ( Pineapple turnover) and the sugar dusted twists, I can't remember what the name is for those. The bread was soft and moist. I was hoping they weren't dry and I was not disappointed. I want to come back, maybe later in the morning to see what else they offer. I'll be back soon. read more

If you want to feel like you just entered a bakery in Mexico, you just found the right place. This place reminded me of my travels through Mexico. You can tell the place is a little run down, but honestly it is what gives this place its charm. The workers were very nice and helpful, the bread here was very flavorful, but the true reason for my visit on a Saturday morning was for the menudo. The portions were big and came with a fresh baked bolillo loaf. The soup stock was very flavorful and had a slight heat to it. Adding some more Chile flakes and lime and all of a sudden you have the Mexican hangover cure. As soon as my bowl arrived, the atmosphere came to life with some live singing by one of the employees. Of all the places, El Dorado Bakery, a staple of Broadway, is at the top of my list. The menudo is incredibly flavorful, rich with spices and meat. The hominy is delicate, but not too mushy. It melts in your mouth. Yes, there will be the occasional bone or two...or five, but no seas codo, that's what makes the experience so amazing! It's just like how mama made it, only without the mess to clean up afterwards! ¡Oye, my friends! If you've never been here, this place looks rough from the outside, but if you're reading this, you're not going there to enjoy the rustic, New Mexican architecture. There will probably be a suspicious looking dude hanging out by the parking lot, but he means well. He watches the cars that roll up, and doesn't bother anyone. Just watches. Says "Good Morning!" That's it. Maybe he'll offer to wash your windows. Esta Bakery es la neta! Look...you're probably going to come by on the weekend for some menudo. You need to. If you haven't. You need to. I was there a couple of days ago. food was good of course, but service was absolutely horrible. everything started when our server Erica started to bring our food to our table. she was smacking the plates, moving our drinks to the side in a very rude manner, I also saw her mistreating one of the girl employees. she definitely has no respect for people who has small children's eating. she removed my daughter's plate when my daughter was still eating and Erica never asked if she could take the plate. we paid with card and she added herself a 15.00 tip, after we didn't leave a tip. once again very bad customer service I thing she must be fired for abusing the employees and tipping herself read more

A true hidden gem in Albuquerque. I'm not particularly a donut person, but their sugar donuts are to die for and their tortillas taste straight out of your grandma's kitchen.
