While reading I saw that Metric in Chicago was on the list. And that was the sign this place had to be a must try! Came here on a Saturday morning. I walked a few miles from downtown to the neighborhood this place is in. It is in an industrial part town of area. Kind of reminds me of the west bank of the flats area or temont type of area we have in Cleveland. The shop itself is not very big. However the coffee, is absolutely incredible. While there I met Cara . She was so friendly and knowledgeable. I mentioned that the reason for making the walk to this place was to see how it measured with award of top 100 shop. From there I got my espresso. Amazing. Just amazing! Cara also took the time explain the cupping process. And how Metric gets their beans. The chai latte was delicious, while the cold brew and hummus didn't quite wow me, but I'm definitely excited to come back and try more. Overall, it's such a cool spot, and the fact that it's only a 15-minute walk from my place makes it even better.

I've had a couple good experiences and a couple poor experiences--not rudeness, but not an inviting, pleasant attitude. It wouldn't keep me from coming to this location, but it is a bit of a letdown to be served by someone who doesn't seem to want to serve. All in all, I enjoy this coffee and the employees more than the alternative around the bend from here, but it won't become my go-to stop for now. For now, I prefer walking to Starbucks, although I don't consider myself a Starbucks person.
