Didn't know el cero was a Mexican restaurant and a night club at the same time. communication with the staff was lackluster and the DJ was horrible. Lame song choices and just poor mixing. Great idea, I had a stuffed poblano with chicken and a beef taco. Came with a nice tiny salad with guac. The chicken had such good flavor. The pricing was wonky so I dropped a star. My husband and I had dinner here while on vacation at Myrtle Beach. The restaurant was absolutely beautiful. There were large booths that were set apart in these tulip-like cocoons. We ate at a booth in the beautiful bar area that looks like one from a cruise ship. Reuben was our server. He was efficient and very attentive. I had a mojito and was delighted to find it was happy hour. My drink was delicious. My husband had steak tacos, and enchiladas with salsa verde. First time visit. Ordered the shrimp ceviche and the "El Cerro Special". The food all tasted very good. The complementary chips and salsa were delicious. Our server, Steven provided us excellent service and suggestions. The ambience of this restaurant is unlike any other Mexican restaurant that I've been to. They have a large bar with the list of drinks to choose from. Ample TV with various programs and nice lively background music playing. Thankful that I had a great experience. Very very good restaurant right near Broadway at the beach! This makes it a great location to eat at if your looking for a meal in that area but you aren't looking for crowds. The restaurant is very large and the theming is super cool. The best part has to be the flower booths for larger parties. It's almost nice cause it seems like most tables where preset secluded from each-other. The service was fast and friendly. As for the food it was a home run to! I loved the chips and salsa. We had such an odd experience here. Our bachelor group of five was staying across the way and it happened to be Cinco de Mayo so we came here for lunch. I had been to other locations, but it turns out this one is different. Instead of casual tex-mex, they're a little fancier and the place has a vibe like it turns into a nightclub in the evening. The menu was also a little elevated similar to Abuelos by the mall. Being that it was Cinco, I figured there would be a bit of a party going on, but it was pretty dead. It was during the week, but that usually doesn't stop people. The server was nice at first but seemed annoyed about the whole process as lunch went on until he pretty much abandoned the table. A few people got quesadillas and we all had different presentations on our plate. Also, the quesadilla was not cut into pieces which I've never seen anywhere. We had to keep asking for things like silverware and refills. We were ready to stick around and have some drinks for a bit, but he just came and dropped the cheques and took off so they didn't seem interested in us staying. Being that you're paying the elevated price for the same food and lower quality service, I doubt I would be back. read more

They were very flavorful and delicious but the tortillas were a bit chewy. The salsa has good body and mild spice. The guacamole was very heavy on lime and cilantro so really not great. Service was okay. **We were just about finished when employees walked in with their dogs. Not service dogs. While on leash this was wildly inappropriate, it is also against public health policies. We ordered the chimichanga dinner and the texana fajitas. The chimichangas were okay but really small. Portion size and quality did not meet the price as it was almost $20 for 2 small chimichangas and some rice. For the Texana fajitas, while the food was plentiful the meat had little to no flavor. The plate was piled high with tons of peppers and onions... that's cool and all but way too much peppers and onions. I was pretty disappointed. We sat in the bar area where there were numerous TVs and good music playing. It's got a contemporary atmosphere, and at night becomes a club where there is dancing or karaoke. The food was truly authentic and very generous. The margaritas were top notch. Fairly priced and great tasting. Seban was a great bartender and server. Service could've been better. We came with a group of 7 and patiently waited 45 mins -1 hour to get seated. Once we were in the restaurant, our server took our order and we were waiting an additional hour in the restaurant for our food. On top of that, it was disappointing when finally ate our food and discovered that all the dishes were unseasoned. The dishes lacked flavor. If the food was flavorful we would've at least put aside the wait time. We all did not finish our food and did not even want to take home to-go.
