Great place to grab something to eat. I was looking for something simple and good. I settled on the shredded chicken salad. Great flavor, perfect deep fried shell. My only complaint? The restaurant was freezing! Maybe it was the section I was put in but goodness! Would I recommend? Sure. Will I return? Yes. Worth the price? $15 chicken salad was small. Maybe not worth that.

Food was very good. Charro beans were very spicy. We had great service, very attentive. The restaurant was clean. The mesquite shrimp was cooked perfectly.

Price is being charged are different than the prices on the menu.

Menu prices are different than the prices they charge. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED! Be very careful! Savannah, the manager specifically stated that her boss knows the menu prices are inaccurate. Savannah stated her boss is aware but has done nothing about it. She stated that the boss has been working on new menus for months.

El Cerrito is a great, economical, Mexican food joint. We started with the chips and salsa. The chips were light and thin, and the salsa had a nice flavor without too much heat. The waitress was quick and attentive, and it appeared all the servers had been trained pretty well. They had spinach enchiladas and avocado enchiladas. That's always worth noting. My wife had the spinach enchiladas and was pleasantly surprised. I had the combo, which wasn't on the menu. The 3 enchilada dinner offered chicken with sour cream sauce, cheese, or beef. I wanted all 3, and they accommodated me easily. I also asked for an add-on taco, even though it wasn't on the menu, and they took care of that too! Man, you GOTTA have add-on tacos for $2! Double your profit margins! The enchiladas were filling, but I noticed they were on the small side. At a $9 plate instead of a $15 plage, I didn't have a problem... and I didn't go away hungry. Not the TOP place in the area, but it's probably a solid #2! Way better than the "chain" places up the street! 4 STARS to #ShopLocal

Food is good. Never the same employees which could mean management issues. Younger employees seem lazy. They take your order but never refill drinks or take your plates when finished. I feel sorry for the bus boys and understand why they leave the plates behind. Let the wait staff try to carry one of the bus tubs with all those heavy plates inside. Additional staff training would make this place 4 maybe 5 star.

I went to El Cerrito for the first time. And as someone who loves Mexican food, I have a lot to compare it to. I was blown away at the taste of the salsa that came with the chips, so I knew my food was gonna be delicious. I ordered the beef Guiso *a hidden menu item* and it was delicious. When I walked in, they hosts was very pleasant, she offered me a table, but I decided to sit at the bar, which is full service. At the bar they had two TV with a sports on. The bar is separate from the rest of the restaurant incase kids don't need to see people drinking. Which I appreciated. All this to say I really enjoyed my experience at El Cerrito, the ambiance was very culturally appropriate and felt like I was in Mexico. I highly recommend this Mexican restaurant to anyone in Springtown, TX or people driving through.

I really enjoy this place. A lot of times when you get into rural areas and try lower priced Mexican food it is bland and not good, but not here! Everything here is really enjoyable from the chips and queso, to the tacos, fajitas, I'll eat it all. The service is great. Their sweet tea is legit. Definitely if you're in the Springtown area check it out.

I liked El Cerrito. The food was tasty, served warm, the beer ice cold, and the service efficient and friendly. In addition, they were open late, so after a full day of work, I was ready for some good TexMex. There is a large variety of menu items to choose from including all of your favorite Mexican food. You won't go wrong with any of the taco plates or enchilada plates. Casual atmosphere. Overall, a good, solid choice for some really good Mexican comfort food.

When we asked the manager about it, he didn't seem to know they changed this. 10/25/25 was 8.25% tax (including alcohol in the order). All recent bills were anywhere from 13% to 16.5% hidden in the "tax" line, not even itemized. I'm sure because they know most won't realize it. This may explain why on a Friday at 5pm (even with a social hour) the bar was empty except for one other couple. Not going to reduce the stars since I like many of the long-timers that work here, but whoever is running the show now should probably re-examine their decisions. #WWFD

We sat at the bar on a Friday afternoon and were greeted by a great bartender named Edgar. He gave us a few recommendations, so we thought we'd go with his suggestions. So happy we listened! The sea bass enchiladas with charbroiled shrimp were fantastic! I absolutely wasn't expecting the depth of flavors. It was an amazing dish for sure. The charbroiled filet mignon was the star of the show however. We were not expecting such a great steak at a Mexican restaurant. The table side charring was perfect! Charred to a perfect medium rare with the right amount of seasonings. If we're ever in Dallas/Irving area...we'd definitely return! Well done.

At first glance it seemed very cool, ambience was very welcoming, like we were at a family members home. However, the issues began when it was time to order. There were so many exclusions available after lunch time that we didn't really know what we ordered. My friend and I ordered margaritas...barely a drop of alcohol in either and were melted when they arrived. The other thing is a server brought out a plate of nachos (large tortilla with melted cheese) but didn't tell us it was two separate orders. Another friend ate mine by accident. Our server spilled some of my margarita on the table then wiped her hands on our tablecloth. Absolutely unsanitary. I ordered the small enchilada plate and $22 later I was disappointed. Food was mid at best, nothing was spectacular or cause to return. The cash only rule was fine until they told us they wouldn't split the check. Keep in mind that we barely know what each of us ordered since the server suggested items not found on the menu. I just added $40 and said good day. I've had DoorDash deliver better Mexican food than this.
