My wife and I have had our date night at the Cantina on a consistent basis over the past four years. The tacos have been consistently delicious, the macho nachos have been amazing, the beer is cold, and the staff has always been friendly and professional. The atmosphere is really chill and we even have a favorite booth. However, over the past few months, we have noticed a drastic downward trend of both food quality, and availability of menu items. I'm not sure what the issue is, but it has not been an isolated event. They have consistently not had flour tortillas, chicken, steak, or even french fries. Over half of their menu is consistently absent and the food they do have, has been poorly prepared and of cheap quality. I've loved going to the Cantina and do not post this with any feeling of satisfaction. I have not rushed to my keyboard at the first sign of something displeasing. I'm only posting this because I hope the problems can be fixed and the Cantina returns to what everyone has come to expect: great food, great servers, great prices, and a great atmosphere. Until that happens, I can't justify spending money on what is now, a consistently poor culinary experience. read more

Food was good, tacos how can that be wrong. I had the LA Tacos, blackened mahi mahi. Chased it down with a Shiner. My wife had the original. Grandson had fried jalapeños and daughter had fried pickles. All was good. I would recommend. One little bit of crticism was my tacos needed a little spice. read more

Great service, Austin our server was very nice. We are coming down from Austin for a wedding, this is a perfect go to for afters. It's great atmosphere, environment, and service. It's dive Bar-ish but they treat you like family. I love it, ask for bronnie for an inside joke! You will have a blast! read more

No kid menus and the server tried to remember what kid meals they offered while dealing with the table next to us and wasn't really serving either table. We arrived and sat ourselves at the bar since no one was available. We were passed by several times by the bartender. No words were spoken whatsoever. The bartender looked very unkempt and didn't seem to care that we were there. After 10 minutes we were acknowledged. We wanted margaritas. All they had was well tequila. Fine, we'll have a beer. We got our beer after getting menus from a surrounding table and ordered. After 15 minutes, the unkempt bartender announced to us that the cooks shift was over at 5 o'clock and had left and his replacement was not there, but they were handing it. 20 minutes later the food arrived. Street tacos were dry and inedible. My tacos were drenched in sauces so badly that that's all you tasted. During our meal, a guy behind the bar opened a beer and sprayed my girlfriend and another guest and said, let me get you a towel. He brought two.... Went this place on a Sunday evening. Not busy at all. The place was almost empty. Eventually left as no wait staff greeted us, didn't ask us if we wanted drinks or food. Terrible service and definitely will not come back with too many other options in Weatherford. read more

Here during the Peach Festival and the place was very busy. Found a table and took it. We shared the Sweet and sour pork ques and they were very good. Had to ask for napkins and a fork. Went in tonight to have a few tacos before a football game. Service was good in the beginning and went downhill from the drinks. Not only did we have to repeat our order multiple times but everything we got was wrong. Not one taco was what we ordered. I ordered shrimp, got fish and pork peach and got beef. How do you confuse those? We were in a time crunch and were already late. Server said it was the kitchen but no one was in there and at one point the waiter said he was too busy to check with the kitchen but we saw him standing around. The tacos we had were tasty but completely wrong. Each time we wanted tea, we had to ask the waiter. He never came by to ask if we needed anything. If you want just beer and tacos, then fine. Tacos were $5 and up. Ordered a drink that was obviously not right. Not a big deal for me, but. Server was way too soft spoken for a loud bar. That was a little annoying. Tacos were ok. I don't like the way places have you pay them and default to high tip amounts. Service these days does not warrant high tip amounts. It's awkward. I wish we would have found this place during football season because I would have definitely chose this place to take in some cold ones while watching the game. I had the fried cauliflower veggie taco and street style grilled chicken taco. I thought hubs had nachos but I don't see it on the menu. It may have been a special that day. I loved that they had cider beer because it is my favorite. I wish they had a bigger selection but what they did have hit the spot. I liked this spot because it was super low key and had a good vibe. They have tvs and a view of the street along with a nice patio that looks like it might be good during the two weeks of spring we get in Texas every year. We took a spontaneous trip to Weatherford and found ourselves stopping here after seeing a couple eating tacos outside. LOVE that the tacos are a la carte. There are multiple options for chicken, beef, pork, and vegetarian tacos. Husband had one of their best sellers (fried chicken taco) and really enjoyed it, especially the jalapeño ranch (has moderate heat). Black bean taco for me was solid: comes with potatoes and fried onion strings which made it unique and tasty! Brisket taco was my favorite of my three! The Sriracha slaw has just the right amount of heat. The pork & peach taco was just okay - I was hoping for more peach flavor and heat. That was also the taco I was most excited to order. Their chips and queso are the BOMB. Chips are thin, crispy, and seasoned. Salsa has good heat to it and really tasty. Queso was also great, but the salsa stole the show for me! Overall, definitely worth a stop if you find yourself in Weatherford! Staff is friendly and attentive. Outdoor seating available (and you can't beat being in the center of the town). My favorite taco and margarita spot! Love their unique taco flavor combinations and great margaritas. My boys had brisket quesadillas--amazing flavors. My favorite tacos--Surf and Turf, MOAT and fried chicken--did not disappoint. The MOAT combines savory meat with the sweet blueberry sauce YUM. I tried the Chipotle Chicken taco today, I thought the peach salsa would add more moisture and could have been a bit more on the taco. The chipotle was spicy goodness but the taco was a little dry. I had 1855 and Sheriffs Posse margaritas--order with the tajin rim because it complements well. The Macho Nachos with brisket were amazing but unfortunately came out at the same time as our meal even though we ordered it first. Great service and atmosphere. The selection of infused tequila is fantastic. The street style tacos were sub par. Not amazing but not bad;however, the Philly cheesesteak and buffalo chicken were AMAZING. The goodnight loving margarita also hits the spot. My friend and I tried the trio dip with chips: salsa, queso and guac and all 3 were delicious!! Salsa has a nice spice to it which I love because I like spicy. Then I ordered the blackened shrimp taco which had jalapeño cheese grits and bacon on it! A shrimp and grits taco!! It was so good. Very unique, I haven't seen that anywhere else. Then I also ordered a steak street taco but they had just ran out of steak so gave me a ground beef street taco which was ok but really dry. I added salsa on it and it made it better. For my drink I had a pineapple peach habanero margarita. The drinks are very good and fresh. I would def come here again. Lots more drinks and tacos to try!! read more

The food was absolutely horrible, there was no flavor, the meat was dry as hell, and you could have gotten better food from Taco Bell! What we got was not worth the $60 we spent hell I wouldn't have even paid $30 for it such a shame. New to the area we are desperately trying to find an amazing taco spot. Unfortunately, this was not the place. My boyfriend and I had the chicken and pork street taco. The meat was super dry. The chicken had zero taste. We also had the surf and turf and which was somewhat tasty. The mango margarita I ordered tasted like a flat soda or iced tea without sugar. It tasted nothing like mango. Delicious!! Best fried pickles I've had in SO long, my margarita was LEGIT, the tacos were phenomenal and my kiddo woofed down her Sopapilla bites. In all honesty the food wasn't even the best part. This is our fourth time eating here. We have loved this place and have enjoyed taking our friends here when they are in town. The food and drinks are always on point. However, tonight was a complete disappointment. The green salsa was really off tonight. The food orders were three out of six correct/incorrect. We mentioned it to the waiter who seemed very flustered and not too concerned. When we received our check, there was no acknowledgment or apologies, just a large check for a night none of us enjoyed. Not sure we will be back. Adding some additional information...I have given two weeks for a manager or owner to respond or acknowledge my review, and neither has happened. I understand with the customer service industry, service can be hit and miss for various circumstances, but with over 30 years in this industry, a non-response can be unforgivable. Ordered a Birria taco and the original chicken taco with parmesen crusted tortilla. Neither had any flavor. Wow, came to stay with friends in Weatherford. They said this place had great drinks and tacos and they were not kidding. There tequilas are infused in house and I had the frozen with infused pineapple, OMG it was so good little sweet but they're infused tequilas are amazing. I had the mother of all tacos and God was it good. It's a real hole in the wall so as far as atmosphere goes nothing fancy but it's crowded, great vibe, great service, great food and great drinks! Went back and had. the prickly Pear frozen Margarita and the blood orange margarita, the blood orange was so tart I could barely drink it in the prickly pear seemed really really sweet so might want to stay away from those two. read more
