Closest restaurant to our house, so we frequently eat here. Good Mexican food and a really good frozen margarita.

This is my favorite Mexican food restaurant in the area, including Azle, Decatur, Lake Worth, and Weatherford. The Queso is one of the main dishes I judge a Mexican restaurant on and there's is exactly what I look for. The chips are thin and crispy. We have tried a number of dishes but my favorite is the Chimichanga. Staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean. I would drive extra distance to eat there. read more

Got our to go order wrong. Okay told them and no apology no let us fix it nothing. They could've cared less

We stopped by on our way through town on a road trip and were absolutely thrilled with both the excellent food and the attentive and friendly service. Our waitress was thrilled that this family owned restaurant decided to close three days around Christmas in order to give employees time with their families. Kudos to the new owners. If we lived closer we would be making this a regular stop for our family. read more

Fair food and fair service usually it is very clean priced out of site. They have a lot of young employees

This place is pretty good. Here is my review in three different sections. The Chips Thin and crunchy, not super greasy Always warm and fresh out of the fryer. read more

This place is always super busy which tells you that the food is good! I ordered the beef enchiladas with sour cream sauce and it was awesome! The meat was seasoned very well and I truly loved it. Glad you guys are in my small town! read more

Third Saturday in a row means it's a tradition right? Every time is great, plenty of vegetarian options, excellent fajitas, enchiladas etc... Attentive and friendly servers every time. It's not bargain prices but then again it's not bargain food so... read more

El Cerrito - Neverending chips and salsa! - Mexican Near Me - Springtown, Texas

This restaurant use to have decent food, I don't know what happened???? The last two meals I've eaten here have been terrible! So sad, I will not be back! read more

I highly recommend this place as it''s out of this world good good good! It's very well worth the drive. I wished I lived closer to it so I could eat there more often. The salsa is very homemade and very very fresh. The waiter and staff did everything to please us and then some. Great authentic food! Great service. I can't wait to go back there with my family again. We all loved it So Much! read more

Poor customer service. Rude manager. Refused to serve a family with a disabled child because she has trouble with certain textures of food and brought in something she could eat so she could eat with her family. They refuse service to the rest of the family. read more

Tried to give this place another chance today after the last visit was awful. Once again to go order was awful. Food was mediocre at best, less than 2oz of chicken on a chicken salad, wilted lettuce and margarita was terrible! Never again! read more

Have been there twice lately. Two times I was overcharged with two different explanations. My final straw was when the cashier decided to argue with me though I told them exactly what I ordered given the reason prior to this visit. The order was wrong and supposedly caused the upcharge. After I proved what I should have been charged; the cashier told me since the waiter clearly got it wrong it was my responsibility to pay the upcharge. When the order was brought out I pointed out that he had gotten the order wrong. The waiter did not care. We were left without water refills during our meal. read more

Ordered Carnita with side of cilantro , a few bites in a fly crawled out from Under my cilantro. I pointed out to the server at which point the owner came over and apilogized and said the flies have been really bad. He insisted that I order something else or did I want a gift card. I did order a quesadilla which was several dollars less than my meal. When the bill came not only did he charge for my meal but also charged me .99 for the cilantro. Now I know things can happen in the kitchen but if I was the Restuarant owner I surely would not have charged my customer! The lady in the next booth turned around and told me that they had order a tres leche cake which came frozen to the table. Needless to say I will not be returning anytime soon. read more

We really wanted to like this spot as it is literally right down the road. Not bad but just not memorable. We spilt fajitas and the meat was just okay. The margaritas were pretty good. The enchiladas were again, just okay. I heard there is a new owner so we'll try again. I prefer to give my $$s to local businesses but they do need to have a good product. read more

Tried supporting this place as it is local. 3 times in a row with extremely poor service. Thus last time poor service and food was cold. Asked to speak the manager and was told the owner was there and I could speak to her. After 10 minutes of waiting to talk to her the desk person asked if I just wanted to go ahead and pay. I did and advised I would never be back. No one seemed to concerned. Bye! read more

My family and I tried this place for the first time. The chips and salsa, margaritas and food were all good. I will go again!

We were a party of ten willing to split up, the waiters sat people who arrived afterwards. We insisted again to split us and they skipped us again. Horrible service. Waiter acted like he did nothing wrong. Terrible experience. read more

Yummy place to eat good queso and salsa as well as fresh chips awesome tasting fajitas

I love el Cerrito it's amazing my favorite is the Mexican cheese burger I awesome 5 stars.

Never ever ever ever again people!!!! All of my friends and family know our Bristol!!!! She still struggles with food textures and issues related to her strokes! We were told about a great Mexican restaurant by someone in Azle in the nearby town of spring town. We all loaded up and were told very quickly that no outside food allowed. We had picked up nuggets for Bristol. I tried explaining her medical situation and she said that it didn't matter. What's sad???? That we are huge supporters of local anything! They discriminated against someone with a medical disability!!! She is 6, and is a pure miracle!!! When I tried explaining to her this, she said it didn't matter. I didn't cry, I didn't want to give her the satisfaction. Yes, I did ask to speak with the manager...she was the manager. read more

Changed owners and food was slow and dry. Won't be coming anymore. Waitress was good but slow food.

I LOVE this place. My fav are the chicken quesadillas. Just love them! The service is always great! Today we had Kaiden as our server and he was very attentive and the food was great as always! Highly recommend! read more

We have gone twice. Both times our food was cold. We ordered queso last night it was cold. I ordered combo fajitas. OMG! Where's the meat. The skillet has more onions on it. No peppers 5 little strips of steak and 4 little strips of chicken for $12.99. Not a good buy. The main dining room is too cramped. The first time we went they sat us in a corner where you and the diner next to you had to share the space. Unacceptable!!!! Refried beans are real dry. Will never go back. read more

Extremely happy with my experience at thos establishment. The salsa was fresh and very tasty, the queso too was great. The rice was fluffy and cooked to perfection, awesome flavor in the refried beans. Not to mention the tacos which were among the best criapy beef tacos ive ever had. Will definitely be back again. read more

This is the best Mexican food in Springtown hands down. Since there aren't many options for good Mexican town, I was skeptical at first to try it. But this place turned out to be very delicious. read more

Awesome for lunch and dinner. Down home and to earth hospitality. We have eaten here many times and every meal has been prepared to perfection. We'll be back for more. Two thumbs-up! read more

Have gone for 5 or 6 times over the last year, it has been in a downward spiral, it finally bottomed out last night as far as I am concerned. Arrived at 5:20 after 10 minutes I ask the hostess if anyone was going to serve us, she attempted to when finally the server arrived. My wife had Chicken Enchiladas and I had Tacos al Carbon in both the meat was "BLAH" no seasoning have OVER COOKED. We will NOT be going back. I must mention that the hostess was working alone trying to seat people, cash people out and get TO GO orders for people, she was over tasked. read more

Their food isn't very good and the place tends to be dirty. Some of the waiters are nice, but others are gross, like they can't be bothered to wash their hands when they get someone else's food on them. read more

I was a regular here since they opened and would have given them 3 stars,,pretty good but nothing special,,but good service always. After our last visit don't think I will be returning. The food was bad-I think the beans were old,got over charged for our beers and all round bad experience.Since they were a 3 star rating and this was a 1 star experience I'll give 'em 2 stars,, read more

It's the only Mexican place in town. I have always enjoyed the food. All you can eat chips and salsa. Very good. The service has gone down hill the last 4 months. The food is still there though. read more

The Bar is too small with a very limited selection and service is very slow both at the bar and at a the table. The food is a just above average the lighting makes for a bright, work cubicle atmosphere. With just a few small adjustments this place could be special really special. LOVE El Cerrito!!! The food is always so good and the service as well! My favorite is Paco's Favorite Steak, which is a ribeye grilled to perfection with melted Monterrey Jack cheese on top. It also has grilled onions and peppers with a side of refried beans (also best beans ever!) and rice. I also love the avocado enchilada's with sour cream sauce! I have not eaten anything at El Cerrito I didn't love! read more

This is the best place to eat in town. Great service, love the chips and hot sauce. Yummy margaritas. The new owners really genuinely care about all the customers. They will take great care of you. Ask for the owner Shane! Or the manager Wade. Both great, and kind guys. Also they host events now. So call them to schedule an event you are wanting to have soon, baby gender reveal, wedding shower, baby shower, etc. This place is a gem. 5stars absolutely!! Love it. read more

Doesn't look like much on the outside but once you walk in the employees are very welcoming and sit you down right away.
