Poor equipment

This place is severely neglected and feels unsafe. The ceiling tiles are stained, sagging, and look like they could collapse at any time--a major safety hazard, especially for families and kids. Many arcade games were out of service, which is frustrating when you're paying to be there. The bathrooms were disgusting: human waste present, no toilet paper in stalls, and no paper towels. Staff only cleaned after I complained, showing a lack of regular upkeep. Management seriously needs to do better. The stuff is rude and unprofessional

The 90s Vibe. Brings back GOOD childhood memories. Arena: decent size Music: Billboard HITS Entertainment: Arcade and Prizes Food: concession with hot food like pizza, fries etc Lines for skates: smooth; not too long of a wait Beginners: trainer board accessible. Quality of skates rental: pretty accurate in size and looks well cared for. Tired: Plenty of Seats for all guest. There's Even chairs on the back wall of the skate floor. Side Note: No AC. It was hot after skating for 30 mins in. Wear light clothes. Everything at reachable distance. Safe for kids. And fun family night. Good for birthday party. Overall. Can't complain... it's a good exercise.

It's the best around the Puget sound. Rink is big and smooth. The energy is good. Took my kids here during family skate and they loved it. It's newer and better maintained than most of the places we've been to. The staff is also very friendly. It gets packed but they do have period when you can skate fast which is nice. Although it is ~45 minutes south of us, we are definitely planning on going back. Was so much fun. 5.

Amazing place nice people me and by ex loved it there Lots of fun for kids to go to

I've been coming here every Sunday for the last four to five months. 18+, good music MOST times! $11 with your own skates. Can't beat it. There's many friendly faces for beginners. I've gone by myself a time or two before and it's not awkward or anything. Love the skate culture & the smoothness on Sundays. Things to note: slow skaters on the inside. Fast skaters on the outside. There aren't any railings so once you get out there, you're out there skate on.

Super fun!!! My daughter took me here on Mother's Day(I know, isn't she the sweetest thing!) We had such a great bonding moment. There was a variety of music and the crowd was mixed with kids and adults, not sure what it would look like if it was a regular Sunday. But either way I will be back! The customer service was amazing too, they were so friendly at the food area!

I originally asked for a size 9 shoe, realized it was a bit too big and went down a size and it was perfect. The young man handing out the skates was kind and at no point did he make me feel like I was bothersome. I really appreciate that. The skating rink is an hour from my place, but it was worth the drive. Thanks again! I realized I can do circles around my teenagers:)

If there were negative stars I would select that!…read more UPDATE Since my original review: The manager reached out with "complimentary tickets" which does not resolve the actual issue - did you retrain your staff? Did you fix your ventilation system? Likely not, his email about free passes was sent and then I responded but here we are almost a week later and no response back. Timeliness is lacking from management down. Here I am again, having to do this because I get no ounce of actual customer care - you all have to do better! Seriously! Particularly if you knowingly subjected all your customers especially kids, to chemical inhalation, poor ventilation not to mention just overall lack of cleanliness in the rink. It's a shame! Just because you all are one of the last rinks in the area does not mean you get to abuse this opportunity!! 1.The smell in this place was horrendous. When we finally got into our party room about 145pm the smell was overwhelming strong, a chemical, instant sickness kind of strong. After speaking with the person in the DJ booth they informed me that the floors were just redone and that the ventilation in the place was supposedly on. My husband works in HVAC and knows for a fact that the ventilation was not on when the parties began, as someone who suffers from chronic migraines the concentrated smell of chemicals was just unacceptable. I asked to speak to the manager multiple times but no one seemed to care, they brushed me off, and left us to just suffer. We had to keep going outside for fresh air and still tend to our guests which was unacceptable. Not to mention, some of our guests needed to leave due to medical conditions which flared up as a result of the chemicals lingering in the air. I don't want to have to escalate this even more and look into legal action because this was very unacceptable for a business. 2. The party check in desk was just horrendous because of the general line to get in, we literally had to squeeze in with all our party goods and bumping into people while waiting past our paid party time. I paid for party room to be in the actual room at 130pm, but was not even checked in until after 130pm we got into the party room to have to still set up. Do better! If you are going to charge for a certain time then make it available at that time otherwise you are lying to people and stealing them of their money. Not to mention we have to be out of the room 30 mins before the party time ends. Considering that we got into the room 15 mins late, your staff should not be rudely kicking us out just because your process for party check in and setup are lacking. I will defintely be reporting you all to BBB and leaving many bad reviews. 3. I had to keep asking staff for stuff for the party room such as our 3rd pizza arrived 30 mins later but no one came to check on us, I had to go and ask where it was. The lighter in the room was broken and I had to hunt someone down to get another. The room itself needs better ventilation and air. This is such a serious health issue with little kids and the chemical smell. 4. Lastly, you all need to do better with the amount of staff and the type of training you give staff. If you want more business defintely work on customer service. There was lack of attentiveness, or any kind of care for that matter, when asking for help or speaking to staff in general they plainly didn't care to engage with care or intention. I am not paying for your staff to be rude to me or my guests. I work in management and have for over 20 years, what I experienced this weekend really shocks me considering your website states so much has been improved. That is a total lie!

However, it was pretty clean and the rink is well maintained. They have both rollerskates and rollerblades in an extensive size range, including kids sizes. They also have elbow pads, wrist guards, and knee pads that you can borrow for free. I saw them actively sanitizing skates after use, which was good to see. I think the $20 feet is a bit steep, but not terribly unreasonable. The staff was nice, they could've been a little more energetic but overall they were doing a good job. I liked the music selection, a good mix of everything! The flashing lights were a little intense for me, but it added to the atmosphere which I can appreciate. If you're looking for a fun indoor activity, check out Lynnwood Bowl and Skate! I'd like to try bowling next time and give a review on that part of the facility.

We decided to come here and while he was doing his tournament we would bowl and maybe skate and play some billiards. However, for two lanes, the total for 7 people it cost us $350 in total to bowl. What a total rip off! My son didn't even get matching shoes, the balls provided had many chips, and one of our consoles was not even working properly! When we told them of the problem they were not helpful at all. We just dealt with it. The skating rink was also very smelly and smelled like feet and the billiards tables were poorly kept as well as the sticks provided. For the price we paid the bowling wasn't even exciting as it wasn't even cosmic bowling. I can't believe people actually go here! We will not be coming back here to bowl, skate or play billiards!

Unlike the other ice rink Sprinker Recreation Center in Tacoma, the Tacoma Twin Rinks are located…read moreconveniently close to I-5. As the name suggests, there are two ice rinks at this location. We normally come here for hockey games. There is an upper view area for us to watch the game from the upper level, which is nice. However, there's no heater for the audience, so it's super cold at this location. You will have to dress like skiing, or you are likely to be frozen here. The rinks are still new, but the maintenance work hasn't been done well. Why? We came here for a state development hockey for the entire weekend, from 8 am to 8 pm daily. When I went to the bathroom in the morning, everything was in order and in good condition. But when I visited again in the afternoon, it became a messy place. Some stalls even ran out of paper! We couldn't even find any staff member at the rink. Per my hockey players' report, the ice quality of the rinks was just okay. The locker rooms for the hockey teams were kind of small. Not sure if there's any other shower place for hockey players, but I do see a shower inside the women's restrooms. Only one shower probably won't be enough for hockey players who play as a team. Apparently, whoever designed the Twin Rinks had no clue about what ice hockey players would need. Overall, if you want to skate, I still think it's a good place.

We have had a great experience at Tacoma Twin Rinks so far. It is not the cheapest place to skate…read morein the area, but it's better than the local competitor when it comes to lessons. At TTR they do not allow walkers (which we prefer) and they have smaller classes and the coaches take time to work closely and at exactly the kids speed. To by honest, once we got to the rink, our 6 year old broke down in tears afraid of falling and didn't want to skate... the coaches were amazing and assigned an older, experienced kiddo to hang out with her and just let her play and get comfortable on the ice, which involved a lot of sitting and scooting for the first 20 minutes. Haha. She eventually DID stand and was skating slowly by the end of the lesson... then she was begging to return and we have been back twice this week just for open skate to practice. I'd say 4.5 stars only because their website is tough to use, though once you get signed up and figure it out, it is fine. Also, we paid $16 for 90 minutes of open skate tonight and the guys prepping for hockey practice shirked the schedule and the kids had to leave the ice 15 minutes early so that they could Zamboni. I'll mention that to them when I see our coach tomorrow... probably a miscommunication. I'd prefer to talk to them first before assuming it was intentional negligence. Overall, great experience and we'll continue as long as our kiddo is interested!
