Ask the Community - Rollerdrome

Is there a little children's skate ring?

There is one skating rink and everyone is together. However, they do have beginner skates that have big wheels and these walker things with wheels that the little ones can skate around with while holding on - I'll post a photo.

What are the prices for adults & children below 2 years of age?

I think the prices change by event and day of week. Best way to know is to call. (360) 736-7376

I don't know maybe customer service make a fine come back to American venues…read more Absolutely everyone who worked there, and I was told it's a fam business, so probably genetics, we're extremely unhelpful and would not even politely say that they aren't aware. Their website is horrible. There 0 information on what's allowed or not, and then you bring balloon and confetti and they yell at you There is only one restroom and there were a lot of people. Our birthday "room" was in a hall with dividers - where others peoples were having a party. The service girl was constantly very stressed, Red in the face and kept bringing thighs we did not order lol. The last complain - I promise - the "DJ" was playing slow elevator music, from the 70's and kids all went off the rink and was just sitting in the small divider ))) I went to the DJ- asked for music suitable for 9-10 year girls and boys and girls my mum. He said 0- oh I don't what to play ((( maybe you make a music list and give to me? I gave him $20 and he forgot about the list. I would still go there w my kids - just to skate, in dark cold evenings- but if you are planning a birthday party, think again. Thank you. P.S. I rarely write bad reviews but my daughter was very nervous that her friends were bored out of their mind, all the decorations went to waste, so my e random little kids will come and eat from their table and the service girl was basically screaming at them. Don't want be a snob, but that's why I never go to Thurston county)))

My kids have been coming here for years, long before the new ownership. I hear they're doing some…read morerenovations, which are long overdue. Very good family friendly spot and they do what they can with the space they have. The only downside is the consistent lack of food/snacks/games. 1/3 or or more of the very few games they have are ALWAYS out of order. The food is not always good and very often sold out as they don't make much during sessions -they mostly reserve the pizza just for the rooms. The candy machines are awful - all the decent stuff is regularly empty and the full sided candy they offer is about 3-4x the size price (i.e., the really small bag of lays is $3). Plus I once bought a candy bar there for my kid and the chocolate looked and tasted old, which means their stock rarely moves. Also, would be great if they offered some adult beverages on tap. FYI, it's never a "true" experience here unless u catch a glimpse of the older white gentlemen casually solo out dancing everyone on the rink. I think I will nickname him "White Lightning".

Adult skate night was THE most fun I've had in years! The DJ was outstanding. He knew how to mix…read morethe music and read the room to keep people skating. First of all, the music never stopped. It just flowed from one song to the other. It slowed down to let people rest while skating. Then after a while he gradually picked up the beat until people were up bouncing again. You cannot buy that type of skill...you have to have some YEARS & Experience on you to learn that! ElCentro skating rink was friendly & Inviting with security on campus. Free ice water at the snack bar. Newly renovated bathrooms. Nice rental skates & blades. Tables, chairs and rental lockers for those who need them. There is a small arcade for the kids but I did not use. My girls ordered fries, "They were perfectly salted." Painted murals on the walls with the color scheme nicely done. They have a skate store where you can buy stuff. I noticed a prize ticket store for the arcade. If you want an upgrade to your regular skate night, and if you are grown, choose to go to Adult Skate 18+ and have a great time.

If there were negative stars I would select that!…read more UPDATE Since my original review: The manager reached out with "complimentary tickets" which does not resolve the actual issue - did you retrain your staff? Did you fix your ventilation system? Likely not, his email about free passes was sent and then I responded but here we are almost a week later and no response back. Timeliness is lacking from management down. Here I am again, having to do this because I get no ounce of actual customer care - you all have to do better! Seriously! Particularly if you knowingly subjected all your customers especially kids, to chemical inhalation, poor ventilation not to mention just overall lack of cleanliness in the rink. It's a shame! Just because you all are one of the last rinks in the area does not mean you get to abuse this opportunity!! 1.The smell in this place was horrendous. When we finally got into our party room about 145pm the smell was overwhelming strong, a chemical, instant sickness kind of strong. After speaking with the person in the DJ booth they informed me that the floors were just redone and that the ventilation in the place was supposedly on. My husband works in HVAC and knows for a fact that the ventilation was not on when the parties began, as someone who suffers from chronic migraines the concentrated smell of chemicals was just unacceptable. I asked to speak to the manager multiple times but no one seemed to care, they brushed me off, and left us to just suffer. We had to keep going outside for fresh air and still tend to our guests which was unacceptable. Not to mention, some of our guests needed to leave due to medical conditions which flared up as a result of the chemicals lingering in the air. I don't want to have to escalate this even more and look into legal action because this was very unacceptable for a business. 2. The party check in desk was just horrendous because of the general line to get in, we literally had to squeeze in with all our party goods and bumping into people while waiting past our paid party time. I paid for party room to be in the actual room at 130pm, but was not even checked in until after 130pm we got into the party room to have to still set up. Do better! If you are going to charge for a certain time then make it available at that time otherwise you are lying to people and stealing them of their money. Not to mention we have to be out of the room 30 mins before the party time ends. Considering that we got into the room 15 mins late, your staff should not be rudely kicking us out just because your process for party check in and setup are lacking. I will defintely be reporting you all to BBB and leaving many bad reviews. 3. I had to keep asking staff for stuff for the party room such as our 3rd pizza arrived 30 mins later but no one came to check on us, I had to go and ask where it was. The lighter in the room was broken and I had to hunt someone down to get another. The room itself needs better ventilation and air. This is such a serious health issue with little kids and the chemical smell. 4. Lastly, you all need to do better with the amount of staff and the type of training you give staff. If you want more business defintely work on customer service. There was lack of attentiveness, or any kind of care for that matter, when asking for help or speaking to staff in general they plainly didn't care to engage with care or intention. I am not paying for your staff to be rude to me or my guests. I work in management and have for over 20 years, what I experienced this weekend really shocks me considering your website states so much has been improved. That is a total lie!

If you are a decent skater, the lighting is not a problem. I love when the lights are off & feel…read morelike there is PLENTY of lighting. It sets the vibe. When the lights are off, I feel like I might as well be a 14 year old here on a Saturday afternoon. Anyway, my qualm is the MUSIC. Since new ownership, adult skate nights have turned into a PG night focused on inclusivity. Which is okay, but we are all 21+ , so why the focus on pop and stereotypical AND censored hip hop. They used to play southern hip hop and better oldie jam skate music- now it's "Yeah" by usher and all the TikTok trend songs. Trying to make this place for for everyone is making it generic & unexciting. Adult skate nights might as well be family nights too. The music has been terrible lately. No flavor at all. Bring headphones.

Tacoma Twin Rinks

Unlike the other ice rink Sprinker Recreation Center in Tacoma, the Tacoma Twin Rinks are located…read moreconveniently close to I-5. As the name suggests, there are two ice rinks at this location. We normally come here for hockey games. There is an upper view area for us to watch the game from the upper level, which is nice. However, there's no heater for the audience, so it's super cold at this location. You will have to dress like skiing, or you are likely to be frozen here. The rinks are still new, but the maintenance work hasn't been done well. Why? We came here for a state development hockey for the entire weekend, from 8 am to 8 pm daily. When I went to the bathroom in the morning, everything was in order and in good condition. But when I visited again in the afternoon, it became a messy place. Some stalls even ran out of paper! We couldn't even find any staff member at the rink. Per my hockey players' report, the ice quality of the rinks was just okay. The locker rooms for the hockey teams were kind of small. Not sure if there's any other shower place for hockey players, but I do see a shower inside the women's restrooms. Only one shower probably won't be enough for hockey players who play as a team. Apparently, whoever designed the Twin Rinks had no clue about what ice hockey players would need. Overall, if you want to skate, I still think it's a good place.

We have had a great experience at Tacoma Twin Rinks so far. It is not the cheapest place to skate…read morein the area, but it's better than the local competitor when it comes to lessons. At TTR they do not allow walkers (which we prefer) and they have smaller classes and the coaches take time to work closely and at exactly the kids speed. To by honest, once we got to the rink, our 6 year old broke down in tears afraid of falling and didn't want to skate... the coaches were amazing and assigned an older, experienced kiddo to hang out with her and just let her play and get comfortable on the ice, which involved a lot of sitting and scooting for the first 20 minutes. Haha. She eventually DID stand and was skating slowly by the end of the lesson... then she was begging to return and we have been back twice this week just for open skate to practice. I'd say 4.5 stars only because their website is tough to use, though once you get signed up and figure it out, it is fine. Also, we paid $16 for 90 minutes of open skate tonight and the guys prepping for hockey practice shirked the schedule and the kids had to leave the ice 15 minutes early so that they could Zamboni. I'll mention that to them when I see our coach tomorrow... probably a miscommunication. I'd prefer to talk to them first before assuming it was intentional negligence. Overall, great experience and we'll continue as long as our kiddo is interested!

Very disappointing experience at the mini golf due to poor customer service. While my family member…read moredid break a rule, the issue was HOW it was handled. The younger female employee with brown hair was sarcastic and rude instead of calmly and respectfully explaining the rule. The business is extremely rigid with its rules, yet the rules are not clearly posted or explained. There should be clear signage, and customers should be given the benefit of the doubt in a family-friendly setting. The owner has stated on previous reviews that there is "no polite way" to confront someone breaking the rules, which I strongly disagree with. In a family-friendly business, staff should be trained to address issues clearly, respectfully, and without sarcasm or hostility. Unless you want people to start boycotting your business. Even after paying, the attitude continued from their female staff member who was working in the Pro Shop and then we were not allowed to speak with the owner. Mini golf should be fun and welcoming, but this experience was not.
