Great for margs and apps--skip the full meal! El Camino has been a go-to happy hour spot for my friends and me for years. The margaritas are always solid, and there's a great variety of apps to share. I had the Hibiscus Margarita--perfectly sweet and strong! This time we stayed for dinner, and I tried the Cheese Enchiladas Rojo. They were just okay, though I did enjoy the fried egg on top. TL;DR: Fun vibe, tasty drinks, and solid apps. Recommend the hibiscus marg! Not the best for a full dinner.

Came here a few times for a quick get together or meet up. The food is average, the service is consistent, decently clean restaurant, and decent drink options. The location is super convenient but parking can be a challenge.

We haven't been here in years, but decided to hit them up when looking for a happy hour/bar vibes one Friday night a few weeks back. Their happy hour goes until 7pm, which was clutch for us as we didn't make it out until closer to 6. It still has the typically cantina vibes with wooden furniture, colorful flags/decor, etc. We sat at the bar and the bartender came over immediately to check in with us. Drinks wise, I initially got the Hurácan, but it didn't feel strong enough so I ordered a Strawberry Margarita which was a special on the happy hour menu; he got two margaritas - the margaritas were made well! Mixed well so the taste wasn't overpowering while we were drinking, but eventually we were feeling very nice. Food was pretty good. We ordered apps - Smoked Chicken Wings, Pancho Nachos with steak and Fried Calamari - and we enjoyed all the food. Good spot to check out and we will definitely be back again soon.

The tortilla soup was fantastic and the frozen margaritas were delicious, strong, and come in several flavors. I had the blood orange next and I enjoyed that one a lot, too!

While I was excited to try a new place over in the Fishtown/northern liberties area, I have to say that I was not fully impressed with the food experience at this place. It seems that most are attracted to coming here because of their great happy hour specials, but if somebody who doesn't drink, I am less inclined to prefer food that seem to be overly salty and lacking a genuine feel for cuisine. I tried the veggie wings, which were a nice option given that they were made with seitan, however, they were so crunchy and well done that my jaw was not happy. The passionfruit nonalcoholic Mojito I got was pretty tasty, so I was happy with that. My chips and salsa were stale and my friend who ordered their crunch wrap supreme was not impressed at how salty the brisket was in the meal. The server was pretty friendly and checked in on us, but when we were asked how our meal was, and we told him that the food was not up to par, There was nothing really done to make up for it. The vibe inside was like a typical bar, pretty loud and lively. I probably won't be coming back, but it was nice to have tried it at least once.

I was really excited with the selection of trying El Camino Real on a Friday night. It seemed like it was a very busy, bustling hipster, Mexican restaurant unfortunately being at an outside table with a short staff team made for a challenging night. I ordered the guacamole and chips which was absolutely divine. Hands-down, some of the best guacamole that I have ever had, and the chips were perfectly seasoned For my drink, I ordered Cadillac margarita and unfortunately it was lime forward and was missing the Grand Mariner. Our server was hustling to get out the delicious Nashville Hot wings and fries. The wings were cooked perfectly, the sauce was spicy and unique, and oh the fries. That's right the fries were crispy and seasoned perfectly. Although the drink wasn't as advertised overall, the meal and the service was good. I will try on my next visit back to Philly again as the recommendations were high, and the vibe of the restaurant was very cute.

Me and my 3 sisters were told by the manager that there would be about a 30-40 minute wait which wasn't a problem. Everybody was outside trying to get something to eat on this beautiful day and that's completely expected! The problems began once we were seated. We sat for 35 minutes with no greet from a waitress. No acknowledgement from any of the surrounding employees and had to literally flag down our waitress. She then proceeded to play the "I'll figure out who your server is act." Even though she knew and my sisters and I knew she was our server. Because we were sat so long, we were fully prepared to place our apps and entrees. At this point, we're being told that half of what we attempted to ordered is sold out. And who knows if that might've been the case had we been greeted promptly. I am a server myself and all I can say is, don't put one of your servers out on the patio if she can't handle being double or triple sat. Had we been greeted or even told by our waitress "I'll be right with you," we would all have had a different attitude. Instead she walked past our table numerous times trying not to make eye contact and tend to the surrounding guests. 40 minutes for water. 55 minutes for an appetizer that she failed to inform us was sold out until WE asked HER about it. Please go literally anywhere else.

I'm back again, haha! Just had to shout out Noah--he was so great when my friend asked for food recommendations. He described each of his favorites in full detail, and you could tell he really knew what he was talking about. His personality made the whole experience even better, and my friend ended up loving everything he suggested. Give that man his props!

The food didn't come out all at once which was a little awkward since we were in a group. One person in our group ended up waiting 15 minutes longer than everyone else to get her food. The pulled pork sandwich was okay. Not the best I've ever had but decent. The Pigs in a Clover was a ton of food. Definitely could feed 4. The sides were better in my opinion than the meat itself. We loved the slaw, Mac, and potato salad. The half sour pickle was a little weird although I guess it did live up to its name. Tastes like a cucumber that isn't quite a pickle yet. The pulled pork was standard. The ribs were very smokey and charred but a little tough. Flavor of the meat was good just not standout. Overall I would come back here especially because the vibes are very cozy, inviting, family friendly, and warm.

I can't go often, since it's not that close to me, but when I go, I typically order the rib platter. I typically get the same sides (beans and mac n cheese) along with cornbread. It is certainly more deserving than my initial 3 star review on my successive visits, but I never updated my review. Not everyone will love the sauce, which tastes more tomato-based, but that's okay. As I've gotten older, I appreciate it more. It's almost like... they put... ketchup... in the sauce... and if that's what it is, I'm fine with it. It tastes good. The ribs on that initial visit were tough; that's not a lie. On three visits afterwards, it was not as tough as the first time. On my most recent visit today, the ribs were really, really tender. Like... this is how tender ribs should be. The only difference between my experiences before versus now is I placed a takeout order this time whereas I always ate at the restaurant before. If takeout will always yield the freshest, most tender ribs, I'm good with ordering takeout from now on. The ribs were tender to the point of being delicate. They were SO GOOD. Even the rib that looked like it could've been tough was tender. That's how you know ribs are good. I would give 5 stars for just the ribs alone, but aha... there were more items... baked beans... SO GOOD... they have sausage bits in them. Cornbread... baked fresh and cut in front of my eyes... WARM, SOFT, FLUFFY.... SOoo GOOOOD... the mac n cheese... well, ehhh... can't win them all... it was just mac n cheese. I have to remember to order something other than mac n cheese next time, but I always forget because I don't go here often enough. Still, this is a 5 star meal all the way and I look forward to more meals like this. I thought I had to drive over to Camden all this time to get tender ribs. Let's say that all again... the ribs are damn good... tender and juicy. Yums. Go get some. Parking lot on the premises. Hope you get the same experience I just did.

We're never great at eating our money's worth, so the pay-as-you-go setup felt like a better fit. We got the favorite set for two, which ended up being plenty. The biggest highlight right away: they grill everything for you. KBBQ is just better when you can sit back and eat instead of managing the grill yourself. They also use a back grill to keep things moving, so there's barely any pause between rounds of meat. It felt really efficient. Also, the place is surprisingly clean and doesn't have that heavy "you're going to smell like smoke for the next 5 hours" vibe, which I really appreciated. Somehow they keep it all under control even with constant grilling. Service-wise, the staff were attentive and clearly working hard, especially since it seemed a bit understaffed. That said, my friend did feel a little uncomfortable at times. There were a few moments where it felt like we were being watched closely, almost like they were worried about a dine-and-dash situation, and we were asked multiple times if we had paid. I personally read it more as things being slightly disorganized with a small team juggling cooking, serving, and payments, but I can see how it might come across differently depending on how you interpret it. Food-wise, the meat was very good, but the banchan really stood out to me. The cabbage salad with a gingery soy dressing was super refreshing and cut through the richness of the meat perfectly. Free refills on banchan are always a win too. I also liked that the grill came with corn cheese, egg, and sprouts, nice extras you don't always get. The corn cheese wasn't as sweet as I expected, and the egg was a bit on the salty side, but still enjoyable. The tilted grill setup was another plus since it lets the grease drain away, so the meal didn't feel overly heavy like some AYCE spots. Overall, it was a really fun experience. A bit pricey, but worth it for the quality and how easy the whole meal felt. Just something to be aware of with the service dynamic depending on how sensitive you are to that kind of thing.

From the second we walked in, the energy felt warm, welcoming, and full of personality. The atmosphere was lively without feeling chaotic, the music set the perfect vibe, and the entire restaurant felt like a place built with passion and pride. What made the experience even more special was the owner personally seating us and taking the time to walk us through his drink recommendations. That level of hospitality instantly elevated the experience because you could genuinely tell he cared about every customer having a great time. It felt personal, authentic, and rare in the best way possible. Now let us get into the food because honestly, we ordered almost everything on the menu and not a single item disappointed. The candied turkey bacon was one of the standout favorites. Sweet, smoky, crispy, and completely addictive. I could have ordered an entire tray of it alone. The French toast was rich, buttery, and perfectly soft in the center with just the right amount of sweetness. Every bite tasted like comfort food elevated to another level. The shrimp and grits were phenomenal. The grits were creamy, flavorful, and smooth while the shrimp were seasoned perfectly with a slight kick that balanced everything beautifully. The chicken and waffles absolutely deserved the hype too. The chicken was crispy, juicy, and seasoned all the way through while the waffle had the perfect texture and flavor to complement it. The drinks were also a huge highlight. Every recommendation the owner gave us was on point. The cocktails were strong, creative, and paired perfectly with brunch. You could tell real thought went into both the menu and the presentation. What I loved most about Bake'n Bacon is that it does not feel like a trendy spot trying too hard. It feels genuine.
