Cute place, nicely decorated with full bar. Service was friendly but a little on the slow side with getting and refilling our water glasses. Vegan chicken sandwich was okay. The waffle was a waffle but the bacon burnt ends were amazing!! So good I would have eaten a plate of just them. The French toast comes four ways with an option of a sample plate of one of each. It's a great way to try them all. There would be no way I could eat a full plate of any of them due to the size of the toast and the richness of the toppings. My favorite was of course was the bacon. The Carmel bacon burger was hands down a mouthful of such flavor that all of the meat eaters at the table couldn't put it down. I've been wanting to come here for a year and really had high hopes for it. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and cleanly kept. The host/bartender and server were both very nice. I'm not sure if the server was new but she didn't seem very familiar with their menu, though she did say she'd ask if we had questions. I ordered a $19 cocktail and asked them to make it less sweet but it was still very sweet and syrupy, so I didn't even really drink it. We ordered the hanging bacon for $19 which I was excited about. For the price and hype, I kind of thought it would be fancy or thick-cut bacon, but it was just regular thin bacon like you get at the grocery store. I will say it was cooked well, the sweet habanero sauce was excellent, and the cornbread underneath the bacon was good too. Just seemed kind of overpriced and hyped. I tried to order the bacon and lobster Alfredo. The server came back and said they were out of lobster so I asked for another menu. My friend tried to order the burnt ends entree, but they were out of that, too. They were out of asparagus so the server said they would substitute broccoli instead. We ordered the blackened salmon that was supposed to have a mango salsa topping. It came with mashed potatoes and asparagus (sub broc). However, it was plain when it got dropped off and I later asked the server about the salsa and was told they were out of salsa as well. I ended up using the habanero sauce that came with the hanging bacon to add a little flavor to the dish. It would have been a nice mention when they dropped the food off instead of me having to ask for it. The other entree we got was like a braised pork on mashed potatoes with cornbread. The server said "that comes with asparagus so would you like the broccoli instead?" I told her, "the menu doesn't say it comes with that but if so, I guess sub the broccoli." When she brought that dish to us, she said "I asked the chef to put broccoli on because you asked for it." I was annoyed because I already had told her the menu didn't say anything about a vegetable with that dish. They did charge me $3 extra for the "added" broccoli. It wasn't the price, but that the server was not knowledgeable about the menu, offered me something I questioned her specifically about, and then charged me extra for it as if I asked for it. I would like to reiterate, though, that she was very sweet throughout. The lack of menu items on a menu that isn't that big, and has some repeats between the appetizers and entrees, was laughable by the end. The food that we did get was cooked well and tasted fine, but was pretty basic and in my opinion, overpriced for what it was. I think it would avoid confusion and disappointment if the server told you what they were out of when you sat down, so you could make an informed menu choice, as I've had this happen at other restaurants where it was not a big deal that they were out of a dish or item. Staying locally and stumbled upon this corner gem. The restaurant is a combination of urban chic and comfort food. Graffiti feel with clean, sleek lines and awesome music. Was looking for a quick but filling meal at the SEPTA Jefferson Station & found Bake'n Bacon. The smash burger looked appealing so I ordered it. Was not able to eat it until I was on the train. I should have read the reviews on Yelp rather than Google reviews prior to coming... had I done my research I would never have stepped foot in here. Similar to another recent review, I ordered the wagyu burger for $28, waited for oddly over 35 minute with only 1 other table inside (red flag already), to receive a dry, burnt, tasteless beef burger I would have happily enjoyed better at any fast food chain. Aside from their signature hanging bacon that begs for a photo op, stay clear of ordering a burger at this place and with no acknowledgement of their scam, frankly speaking, by calling the beef as "wagyu" to upcharge. The food here was definitely yummy. The bartender we had was funny and attentive to our drink needs and my allergies. It is a bit pricey but worth it. While yes, they serve hella bacon- they do indeed have vegan options! When it's crowded it's a bit difficult to get the best service but again, as an up-and-coming business with good food and a fire ambiance, I trust that they will get it together. What a fantastic find! Went for brunch, it was by far one the best I have ever had! We got some sharables -A flatbread style bread (yet english muffiny) with chicken , chorizo, egg, cheese and pickled onions for a savory it was delicious. For a savory 4 slices of french toast-strawberry cheesecake, lemon blueberry, bourbon banana and smokey caramel bacon out of this world! First off, the service and the food were amazing. This is not what the review is about. My boyfriend and I came in for a quick brunch and didn't want a fancy cocktail, so we each ordered an Irish coffee, a typical and simple brunch staple drink that any place should be able to make easily. It took a while for the drinks to come out and our waitress came back to ask if we wanted it hot or iced. My boyfriend said hot and I said iced. Right before our food came out, they brought the drinks, his in a coffee mug and mine in a martini glass. Not at all what I was expecting, but fine. This is the true definition of an INSTAGRAM RESTAURANT. The fact that there's a prominent disclaimer on the menu that they do not remove items from the check, rather they will correct the issue, should've alerted me to dine elsewhere. How is it that your menu offers WAGYU BURGERS, but when I ask the server, What grade Wagyu is used or is it Kobe?" They responds, "I don't know what you mean..." After explaining what Wagyu Beef is to them, where it comes from and the grading scale: "Yield Grade and Meat Quality Grade. The Yield Grade (A, B, or C) indicates the amount of usable meat from the carcass. The Meat Quality Grade, assessed on a scale of 1 to 5, considers factors like marbling..." I asked is it A5 or B2(?)... the server said they'd inquire with the chef. I never received a response. The quality of the burger was BODEGA BEEF at best. At that point, there was no rectifying the issue because as the server informed us when we first arrived 7:30pm, the kitchen was closing at 8pm. Although business hours say until 10pm, I believe. Our orders arrived incorrect but clearly we had no time for the kitchen to rectify the issues, because we could literally hear the kitchen exhaust system (?) shutdown, just after 8pm, as our server informed us. Not often do I leave a restaurant feeling down right angry. But the 20% included gratuity was the cherry on the top. I was BIG MAD. The reviews of this place are accurate. Leaving review during the meal. The server was nice but the manager was rude. I ordered the hanging bacon it came out cold like straight from the fridge. I explained this to the server. Shortly after the manager came over in a scolding manner he explained how fast the food came out. ' I timed the order it was turned around in 4 minutes it's now 25 minutes later". I went to dinner on a Thursday evening with my girlfriends and boy did we stumble upon a gem!! It's a Black owned establishment that did not disappoint!! The ambiance is very calm and the music was fitting for the environment. The place wasn't packed but definitely had a nice crowd. Now, the name is bake n bacon so of course you may assume that there are only bacon options. Nope! Their menu caters to many eating preferences! (Check out the pic of the menu). Our server was Richard who was very attentive, gave us suggestions and made sure that we had a great dining experience. Now, the food! 10/10! Everything was perfectly seasoned and flavorful. I had a small issue with my mussels but the food was so good it's not even worth mentioning! As you can see in the pictures the food did not disappoint! Oh, I am just tickled to share my experience at Bake'n Bacon! Now, let me tell you, it's been a minute since I've felt this excited about a new spot, and they did not disappoint. I went with my brother Ryan for brunch this past weekend, and it was everything. The vibe? Imagine the warmth of the old Warmdaddy's, but with that classy, upscale touch like Soul Food Cafe or Ms. Tootsie's. The staff was a full-on 10 out of 10, from the warm welcome at the door to the attentive service at our table--it felt like being around friends, just having a good time. Now, the food--there were so many mouthwatering choices, but we stuck with the SMOKEHOUSE GRITS topped with bacon burnt ends and bacon crumble. Let me tell you... those grits were PERFECT. Mothers Day brunch can be hit or miss but Mother's Day 2025, my son treated me to brunch at Baken' Bacon, a new spot in South Philly--and it was an entire vibe. We were greeted with warm smiles and mellow beats from a live DJ that set the perfect mood. I ordered the Carmel Burger after asking our waiter ti help me pick from a few menu options. OMG! It would never dawn on me to put that combination together but I was making audible "mmmm" sounds. The branded bun was soft but firm the burger juicy and the Carmel bacon and cheese amazing. Oh!! The hash browns that it came with were seasoned to perfection and super tasty. My son and husband ordered the Brioche French Toast, double bacon cheese grits topped with bacon crumbs and burnt bacon ends, and the "Can't Pick My Toast" sampler. The standout for me? The Bourbon Banana French Toast--absolutely delicious. My Bloody Mary was 1/2 priced along with mimosa as their Sunday special which encouraged me to have a second one. *contracted open bar, not fully delivered--significant delays in resolution* I hosted a major personal milestone event at Level II venue, Bake n Bacon upstairs rental space in August. CONTRACT & SERVICES: Booked in March with a 25% deposit and 24-hour no-penalty cancellation. The contract included cost for the following: venue space (discounted rate), 2-hour mid-tier open bar, setup time, passed hors d'oeuvres, dinner buffet, and 20% gratuity. In initial discussions the venue indicated that customization was available (menu), and ultimately these things were priced accordingly. After 24 hours, because the contract allowed only additions--not reductions--to the agreed-upon services, any additional requests were mutually agreed upon prior to the event. Therefore, the expectation was that all services agreed upon would be delivered on the day of the event. PROS: Initial interaction with owners for booking. The manager, primary planning point of contact, was great/communicative. The venue was clean and as pictured, and the owners were present to ensure the event started smoothly. While a few hiccups occurred (feedback never shared, overshadowed by con below), for the most part event appeared to proceed as expected. CONS: After the event, multiple guests reported that the bartender said only signature drinks were included in the open bar, and anything else would cost; which was incorrect. I raised this with the venue, early the next morning. During that conversation, the owner stated this was unlikely and suggested the guests may have misunderstood but said they would look into it. For the first two weeks, communication was reciprocal/intentional; after that, I consistently had to reach out for updates, while maintaining patience and understanding. STATUS OF RESOLUTION: While there are many additional details, I have chosen to focus here on the key points. After 17 days, the venue provided its resolution: a refund equal to 14% of the open bar cost and reimbursement for affected guests. The first refund took two months and still required my follow-up. Nearly four months later, there has been no confirmation from the venue that they have completed the second action as promised(e.g., quantitative reporting of 0,1 or more persons refunded) despite my follow up and at this stage owners are unresponsive. Therefore this is still pending. I am disappointed, I was patient throughout the process, but the venue did not meet agreed-upon commitments. The error was not on my end, it was theirs. Mistakes happen, that's business. Professionalism is best demonstrated by how you reconcile issues and treat people. read more

We ordered the hangin bacon with Thai chili sauce ( pieces of cornbread was under each piece of bacon and the cornbread caught the drippings of Thai chili sauce from the bacon). Horrible customer service. We were sat down and said the waitress would be with us soon. This took about 30 minutes. She explained she was short staffed. Not her fault, but not a great start. The hostess and waitress were fine with one of my friends bringing an emotional support dog into the restaurant, but then one of the servers told her she had to leave. As my friends packed up all and headed out, the waitress came back and said it was fine that they stay. At that point, they were done after the server was making a scene, so they just left. We should have left with them. None of our food arrived at the same time and they brought out the wrong food for two people. (We were a table of 5.) On top of all of this, the gratuity is fixed no matter how large your party is. I was going to tip relative to the service (bad service is 10-15% IMO). No wonder their service SUCKS. They don't have to do anything to earn your tip. Absolutely will never come to this restaurant again. Philly has way better restaurants in E Passyunk. Finally made it to Bake'n Bacon... A friend had been raving about this spot. I wanted some cornbread and she said let's go so we went. Upon entry one of the servers and Justin of the owners greeted me at the door. I ate at the bar with my friend who was waiting. We came for their brunch but they stopped immediately at 2. They staff was really nice and let us order a drink. We went back for dinner. The lobster mac and cheese was excellent and so were the ribs. I could do with without the bacon appetizer overpriced and the bacon should be a thicker cut. The drinks were delicious. Let's start with the name Bake'n Bacon how could you go wrong? Tonight I had the bbq fried shrimp and a side of broccoli and will be making my way back to try other items on the menu. The bbq sauce was perfect combination of sweet and light heat. The shrimp and bbq was cooked to perfection and I don't know what they did to the broccoli but it was perfectly cooked with the right amount of garlic and butter. The ambiance and selection of cocktails, liquors and beers are on target for anyone interested in coming in for an adult beverage. Food was okay. Chicken nuggests were good. Mac n Cheese with smoked bacon was okay. Service was great wonderful young lady very good. Ambiance, reminiscent of Devil's Den, cozy, neighborhood.
