Always good! Quick and friendly service. Great for a casual group to meet and enjoy a delicious meal. Seating indoors or on patio. Great chips and salsa too! read more

El Camino Real advertised as being authentic and they are right! We were skeptical being from So. California but were proved wrong! The beans and rice are very good. The table salsa was very mild but when we requested spicy salsa it did not disappoint! The steak was yummy and the tamale to my surprise is the best authentic tamale I've found in a restaurant. (They covered it in a chili and bean mixture- not authentic but is common practice in the US) The entire staff is very attentive, friendly and helpful!! The margarita is huge with a decent amount of tequila. It is obvious the locals enjoy this food as well- it was packed! Fun Mexican vibe. Thanks El Camino Real for the yummy food! Muy Sabroso!! read more

Stopped in on our way to Lake of the Ozarks - fast, excellent, friendly service in spite of a large Sunday lunch crowd. Food was served quickly and was well prepared. Outdoor patio was lovely. Many vegetarian options. read more

Their food was delicious and pricing consistent with the rest of the area. Their queso has a touch of pepperjack and I really enjoyed it. That said, I know they were busy but their service was a bit lacking. The food across the street is just as good but their staff are much friendlier. On the way out of this restaurant not a single thank you. You go to the place across the street and every staff you pass says thank you. When both places have delicious food it comes down to the staff. read more

My husband and I come here for dates and it's AMAZING. The service is always quick and they're so professional. The horchata drink is delicious. 10/10. read more

I have only ate here one time, that was enough. High prices for very mundane food. They were friendly, just not my cup of tea!

El Camino real has the best taco salads in town have had it 3 times and never disappoints.

Good food, good service, good margaritas ‍ We got chicken nacho's with fried jalapeños. They were delicious. Kids menu had a taco salad my daughter loved, and the cheeseburgers were good too for my picky eaters. read more

Came for lunch with a friend and left completely unimpressed. In high school back in the day, my mom used to buy us those frozen, Banquet Mexican TV dinners. Our meals here were reminiscent of those. Bland, flavorless, mushy texture and in general, a big ol' plate of 15 dollar blah. I really dislike having to leave a negative review and always try to find at least one thing that I can be positive about. Concerning this meal, my only positive remarks are regarding the service. Our waiter was terrific. Attentive, friendly and smiling. The other positive I can add is that the restaurant appeared to be very clean, at least in the dining area. read more

This place has Impeccable service and no waiting! I ordered a custom taco and it came back in a matter of minutes! I highly recommend this place the staff was very nice will go back when in town I asked for more water come back in seconds read more

There's not much to order from. The menu is very bland and it's kinda sad. Definitely since all the locals recommend it. Not sure what they are recommending. But it's definitely not this place. The salsa tastes like ketchup with some extra stuff it in. read more

Great food usually not so much right now. Not open as much and we just can't keep up with when they're open anymore. Lost a lot of the great employees. Hopefully this gets resolved bc the food and drinks were so good before. They've been doing construction lately so I think they are using fresh frozen, taste like it but I hope not. read more

First the good - Actractive outside ,signage, decor & nice patio. The hot salsa was very good! Service was more than adequate, polite and prompt. Strange - No bar. Only Bud Light on tap. No Mexican beer. Bad - Food. I ordered Enchiladas Rancheras. Basically a chicken enchilada with red sauce. The sauce was sweet. Almost like Pace Picante with sugar added. I had 3 bites and stopped. After looking around I'm not sure they have a kitchen but only a bunch of microwaves. All the Enchiladas are stuffed with cheese then topped with various meats. Tells me they came from a bag, were warmed and topped. My food came out in less than 5 minutes. Definitely not made after I ordered. Very Poor - The bill included a "Service Fee". It was small, 3%. I dined alone & still tipped 20% but have no idea what this charge is for. Dislike being surprised with mystery charges. Won't be back. read more

great restaurant. 8/10 food. nice atmosphere. workers were friendly and helpful. would recommend!

The best food was the chips. Sad but true. We ordered cheese enchiladas. They tasted strange, so I inquired what kind of cheese they used. The waiter checked and told me it was American! Like what Mexican place does that? The waiter was nice and apologized. He did provide good service and my father did like his burrito. This place does not serve authentic Mexican food so if you think thats what you're getting you will be unhappy. read more

We stopped here on our way to Lake of the Ozarks for an early dinner. This is our 2nd time here we really liked it so much we made sure to stop again! The chips and salsa were very good as was the cheese dip! We had the Chicken Chimi and this Burrito, sorry I can't remember the name of it. The burrito had a little kick to it and a great sauce and filled with beef! The Chimi was huge and overly stuffed with shredded chicken, one of the best I've ever had! This place beats all the Mexican restaurants at Lake of the Ozarks and believe me we have to pretty much all of them! read more

I like el Pollo con queso it's phenomenal and the other dishes on the menu are good but the speed of service is the best reason to come here. read more

BEST Mexican food around this area. I love their Vegetarian #3, and their margaritas and drinks are to die for! They are always exceptionally friendly and listen well to their customers. It's a great place to go for in-restaurant eating, or take-out. I recommend their white cheese sauce (queso blanco) and their incredible enchiladas. A little more on the expensive side for restaurants around town, but definitely worth the treat! Both the food and the customer service are outstanding. read more

Went down to Springfield from Kansas City on a business trip and stopped by at El Camino Real. The place looks modern with good interior and atmosphere. For lunch and dinner there certainly are a lot of options, both Tex-Mex and more classic Mexican dishes. I landed on the El Gordo special with shrimp, rice and avocado. The shrimp were very well cooked and tasted very good. I did the mistake of pouring too much hot sauce on the dish, however it was very enjoyable. The staff is attentive and the items are well priced. My one complaint would be the smell in the restroom. It is one of those strong scents that is used to cover up other scents. Perhaps consider replacing? The restaurant also seemed to be I der construction when I was there as one dining room was completely blocked off. There are many Mexican restaurants in the area so competition is stiff, however I will remember El Camino Real. read more

Did not seem like very authentic Mexican food to me? They couldn't even chop up their tomatoes. Beans and rice look like they're out of a bag. I'm pretty sure they use on the border tortilla chips from Walmart as well. The staff was OK which is why they got anything but a one star review. Even the ambience inside of here is not all that great. A lot of things are crooked inside of the store, and the table was dirty when I sat down to eat. read more

Went in while passing thru town on business, as I needed something quick and because it was pretty much the highest rated place in town. First of all--look at the two salsas in the picture. The one on the right is the house salsa they bring with your chips. It basically tastes like someone added jalapeño to spaghetti sauce, and has all the taste complexity of V8 (maybe less). Seriously this was one of the worst house salsas I've had in Missouri--and I travel a lot. The one on the left is the spicy sauce they hide in the back, so the gringos won't hurt themselves. It's homemade with fresh onion, cilantro, tomatillo, etc. Delicious. Always ask for the "salsa picosa." As I expected, my Arroz con Pollo came out in about 4 minutes, and was good. Just grilled chicken breast with rice and queso sauce, but the chicken was tender and tasted fresh. Based on the taste of the food, service, and the (good) salsa, this place definitely deserves a solid 4 stars. read more

This place was a great little surprise!! A few years ago my sister & I had to make a trip to Springfield. Clinton has always been the "stop & stretch " point. We were pretty hungry so we thought , "why not". So glad we did! The food was above & beyond all expectations. Perfectly seasoned. No frills presentation. Just solid great food. Service was great! Not hovering, always friendly without being fake. Definitely worth doing a little day trip to Clinton. Do not miss El Camino Real!! You're welcome read more

Tasty and affordable Tex-Mex! I am from the area and have lived in much larger cities who don't have Mexican food that is anywhere near this good. Favorites include: Pork Chile Verde Chimichanga (pork is my favorite but they are all good!) Quesadilla Jalisco - stuffed with shrimp and beans, topped with cheese dip! read more

Great service and good, accommodated our large group easily and everyone has a great time.

Very good Mexican food. Friendly service. I wish they had a few more seafood options. I had Pork Chili Verde and hubby had Chicken enchiladas. We lived our dinner. Husband's Margarita was very good but my Strawberry Margarita tasted like a mix. read more

Good food - fast service! Menu is very similar to El Maguey's in St. Joseph, MO (and many similar Mexican restaurants)

Fastest service I've ever had. Staff was friendly and helpful, almost too attentive. Our server was all over us like a pigeon on spilled popcorn. I appreciate the focus but man chill out. Food was pretty tasty and the guacamole was decent. Fastest I've ever been in and out of a restaurant. read more

I ordered 4 Tacos to go and was charged $24.20. Check your bill. I tried to argue and hostess just shrugged her shoulders.

Amazing service, food and frozen margaritas!! I will definitely make it a stop when back in Clinton!

I've been probably 5 times now. Always good food. My "regular" has become the mixed lunch fajitas. Great portion size and very reasonable price for fajitas. I always take home leftovers even from the lunch portion size. I'm definitely not the only one that enjoys El Camino Real. This place stays busy, which is ALWAYS a good sign! read more

In town for a volleyball tournament and stopped for dinner. The place was packed a very good sign. The chips and salsa were fresh and yummy. The beer was cold and delicious. We had the chicken fajitas and the taco salad it was all prepared great and full of flavor. The staff was welcoming and although busy we were seated with only minimal wait. The food came out quickly and we were checked on often. A great stop for Mexican food!!! read more

Wow - the food here is amazing. I am on a road trip from Phoenix and saw El Camino Real had had good reviews so decided to give it a try. Other reviewers are correct, the place is fabulous.
