Seems they run out way too often at peak times. I didn't want to pay the exorbitant cost for something I wasn't going to get, so I drove to Playa Azul. Upon arriving, I ordered takeout -- fajita quesadillas (one beef, one chicken). It was delicious, included chips & rice & refried beans ... all for less than Chipotle! No more Chipotle for me! Another fantastic dinner at Playa Azul! We arrived just before 6 and the place was bustling. Staffing was tight with one server, one runner, and someone from the back periodically coming out to help; however, they were hustling and did a great job! What we ordered: - Chori Pollo (4.5/5): Albeit, not a very authentic Mexican dish, but the flavors work really well. Based on this experience, I can only go 2 stars. Maybe that will change, but this is the first time I've ordered from here, and it was definitely not very bueno. I had the chicken with rice & vegetables. The rice was overcooked and mushy. The vegetables were also mostly overcooked, and the veggies mix was comprised of 50% chopped broccoli stalk. Heavy on veggie mix and light on protein. The house salsa was ok but oregano-heavy. Corn tortillas were dry and fell apart. Better luck next time, amigos. read more

Excellent authentic Mexican food with great service. Well worth the 4 block drive to get great food on the way to the lake.
