Crunchy chimichanga with shredded chicken, black bean, and cheese.

Great made to order Mexican food! This little gem is a welcomed change to the area fast food. The restaurant and bathroom are super clean and appropriately decorated. The waitress was pleasant and helpful. Our food was prepared just as ordered and was hot and delicious. We love stopping by here whenever in Souderton.

Nondescript little place in a strip mall serving up some really excellent Mexican food. The chips are wonderful, and the salsa is freshly made. I loved the enchiladas and chimichangas. The menu is extensive with lots of combo options. I wish we'd had room for dessert - next time!

The BEST... and I mean BEST chicken chimichangas. I love going to Margarita's in Lansdale and theirs doesn't compare to El Cactus!!!

The El Cactus Trio (shrimp taco, chicken Caesar salad, shredded beef chimichanga). Not pictured - a big margarita on the rocks

Love the chimichanga (beef or chicken- both are awesome), Mexican trio, El Cactus trio, and guacamole.

The ground lamb didn't overpower the already expertly executed hummus and added fantastic depth and richness. We also sprung for the grilled calamari tubes and the chef did a great job of not overcooking while achieving an excellent char. We shared the baked cod and the spice was delicate and perfect. Using cured lemon was a very clever idea as the sauce was not too strong but still had depth; the saffron and turmeric were well balanced. The fish itself was NOT overcooked and flaked perfectly. The vegetables were also executed well and cooked so they could be eaten with the same bite. The star of the show was still the cook on the fish with the wonderful sauce. The sever gave us some Moroccan mint tea which was also wonderful. We will be making the drive from the Maine Line to just to dine here again.

The service was incredibly friendly and gracious and the ambiance charming. We started with hot appetizers of roasted artichokes, pan fried Halloumi cheese, Spanakopita and an evening special hummus with spiced, minced lamb served with warm pita. All so delicious we were tempted to forego our main courses of moussaka, lamb kebab and delicious lemon/caper cod served over a bed of roasted root vegetable. Desserts, celebrated with a happy birthday candle on a scrumptious chocolate/hazelnut cake , walnut baklava and Turkish coffee made the evening complete. This BYOB gem is a culinary find and we will be going back soon.

Wow, everything exceeds my expectations. After reading all the reviews, I expect the food is good,…read morebut not THIS good! The food is fresh, delicious, and DIFFERENT. We start with grilled shrimps. They are different from any grilled shrimps we have had, and they are delicious. Then we have lobster mac n cheese, mix seafood tajin, and Seven Seas Steam Combo for the 3 of us. Everything's tastes amazing and fresh. Service is great and friendly. Don't be afraid of the pricing. We probably only need 2 entrees, as the serving size is huge! If you share the entrees, it really isn't that expensive, esp. for great seafood. We don't have room for dessert, but as we head out, we can see the dessert display and regret not getting something. The cakes look great.

This time, I confirmed with the waitress how it would be prepared, but what came out was completely different, filleted with a tomato based sauce, peppers, and onions. I told them that was not what we discussed and made it clear I'm allergic to tomatoes. I was told it wouldn't be a problem to make the fish I actually requested. Instead of remaking the dish, they took the same fish back, removed the toppings, left the tomato residue and brought it back out with the same side; including cold rice. After I clearly stated an allergy, serving the same fish with the tomato residue is unacceptable. This was careless and disappointing. If a customer mentions a food allergy, the dish should be remade, not modified and sent back out.
