Never have I ever had mole & lengua as delicious as El Limon. A group of 4 of us came on a random Monday evening and they were closing early for a holiday party, but welcome'd us in anyway. We were the only table there and the server was very attentive and made sure not to make us feel rushed -- she ensured we knew about the free margaritas, brought us their delicious homemade red and green hot sauces, and gave us plenty of time to order. Their mango margarita was a little on the sweeter side but the strawberry and original were pretty good, especially for a free margarita. The pumpkin (seasonal) was SURPRISINGLY decent. Not only are drinks and service here good, but their food is to die for. I got the enchilada with mole and lengua and every bite I took made me wanting more. I even came back the next day and got a tub of red sauce & mole and a few servings of lengua so I could share with my husband back in Albany, NY (4 HRS AWAY). THAT'S how good it was. I'll be back when I'm in the area. It's not a place to miss. read more

The food was less than mediocre. It definitely lacked flavor. We regretted going to this location. It's an odd set up in the dining room. It doesn't feel inviting. It's in the back of other shops and no windows to look out. Service was on point but won't be back. The one in Skippack is better. read more

We love El Limon so we were delighted that they have a fairly new (2 years?)) outpost right next door to Well Crafted. They also offer free margarita's - we got Strawberry ones with sugared rims. Excellent food and very similar to other El Limon locations but a nice, clean, freshly painted decor. Wonderful tostadas and burritos. Bring cash - it's 3% or so cheaper. el limon, oh el limon. I had the chimichanga here and I'm not even kidding, it's easily top 5 chimichangas I've ever had. The outside was so crispy it sounded like I stepped on a chip, and the inside was packed with flavor like it knew I was judging it. I went in just for the free margs and left acting like I discovered something life changing. I'd like to say I'll try something different next time, but let's be real... I've been ordering chimi's since ive been old enough to point at the menu. read more

Food is EXCELLENT. The mole sauce is to die for. Free margs. BUT It's really, really loud in here. Like it's all tile and bare walls so it there are echoes and echoes and echoes. Get it? Anyway, maybe it was the table next to us where the lady was SCREAMING talking. It did seem to quiet down after they left. But it was still pretty loud. Again, the food is delicious. I tried the quesabirra (sp?). It was OK. I stole some of my son's mole sauce to eat with it and it was much better. I guess I'm not a birra guy. Did I mention how delicious the mole sauce is? Service was a little slow, we had to wait for the basics, napkins, utensils, etc. It seemed like they only had 2 people taking care of the whole place on a Saturday night but they were nice and apologetic, no biggie, we're here for the food! read more

We visited El Limon after doing an escape room right around the corner. The space is a little hard to find (seemingly behind the main drag), but walkable from the main street where our escape room was. The servers had no issues seating our party of 6, and we were glad it wasn't overly crowded on the Sunday night that we visited. The space looked relatively new, but they had cute decor that fit the Mexican vibe. We were surprised but pleased to learn that they offered free margs - and in your flavor of choosing! I went for a mango marg - it was good, but not overly strong and pretty sweet (although it did make the mango flavor standout). But hey, free is free and this was a nice touch. For food, the menu is large! Really hard to narrow down what I wanted to go for. Our group started out with chips and salsa and guac, which was standard but hit the spot to start. Based on suggestions from our dining partners, for my entree, I decided on the al pastor fajitas. For the price (~$14), it was a generous serving! The meat was cooked well, but I was a little disappointed in the lacking amount of pineapple with the meat. The tortillas to encase the meat were good (I appreciated that they were served warm), and the accompanying lettuce and tomatoes made for a nice complete dish. Our friends ordered a variety of dishes, and everyone enjoyed their food, having similar sentiments. El Limon was a convenient spot to visit during our time in Lansdale, but if I'm craving Mexican food, I'm probably going elsewhere for dinner (and to a spot closer to home). I would be interested to try other menu items since they have such a vast variety, though - next time my travels take my to Lansdale! read more

This is my new fav El Limon establishment!! The ambiance was beautiful, so loved the decor. My friend who lives in this neighborhood has never been to this restaurant. she loves Mexican cuisine. She absolutely loved the food here and the look of the place. I tried their quesadillas and it was delicious. I wasn't a fan of the tamale as it was too bready for me. I came here for lunch and had the steak tacos. Needless to say, they were absolutely incredible. The Jarritos Fruit Punch soda was also phenomenal. The ambiance, to say the least, feels very cultural and inspiring. And the staff were wonderful, they captured my heart like you would not believe. I can't remember the name of the waitress who served me, but she brightened up my day. Only one drawback, though, they don't use enough cheese and I had to ask for extra, but in the end, that didn't matter to me because I ate 3 tacos and was very satisfied before having to catch a train back home, and, whoops, I forgot to mention how easy it is to walk here from the train station. read more

I've never been at a Mexican restaurant where you were forced to have your enchiladas all with one protein. Apparently the corporate El Limon folks decided this and it's unchangeable at each restaurant. I found this notion unforgivable, and it tainted the rest of my restaurant experience . The beef Barbacoa enchiladas were decent. The rice and refried beans were also decent and my wife's vegetarian fajitas were also decent However, nothing was good enough to forgive the foolishness of forcing you not to have a mixture of proteins with enchiladas and not offering chips on the table which we have become so used to with Mexican dinner ,just cheapness. read more

First visit here, loved the food!! Festive ambiance once you get inside. The staff is very welcoming and efficient. Great menu selection, plus they offer free margaritas!! Also BYOB. For apps, we ordered: chips and salsa (true mexican style chips and freshly chopped salsa) and the queso barria tacos (the best we've had in this area). Next up: shrimp fajitas (very good) and a burrito bowl with caritas and chorizo (excellent). Would recommend and we will return to try those free margaritas!! read more

I am writing this review after having dined in once and getting takeout once. When we dined in, the service was pretty bad. Our order got mixed up and service was slow. Let's chalk that up to it being a new restaurant. Best thing about our first experience was the guacamole- it was delish. It is also accessible with a ramp to the entrance so that's great and the ambiance is fun too. Since I understand it takes time to get things running smoothly for a new restaurant, we decided to get takeout four months after our first experience. We ordered tacos supreme and the portions were quite sad. Literally so small- not much meat at all either. We have tried other locations and you can't even compare- same price but the portions vary drastically. We really wanted to have a better experience and were so excited to try this location.
