Everyone was home at lunchtime today so we decided to try the Peruvian food truck parked in the VFW lot on the South side of 1488. It opens at noon and you can call your order in, but we didn't. We decided to wait at one of their picnic tables, with umbrella, and broil till our food was ready. I had the paella...plenty of shrimp, clams, mussels and little fish fillets on a bed of parboiled rice. Very nice. The shrimp was split with the shell still on and was a bit difficult to peel. My son had the lomo beef sandwich with fries... said the beef was great and fries were soggy but that could have been bcs we did takeout instead of eating there. Wife had the empanadas which she loved and of course the alfejores for desert...a nice finish to a great lunch. This place is a very nice add to Magnolia eateries and definitely worth paying a visit.

We came to the Truck Zone and tried a combination of multiple restaurants. So far this place is the best in the entire area. Highly recommend.

Finally tried this place. I love it!! Delicious food! The ceviche was on point so happy I don't have to go all the way into Houston for good Peruvian food. I tried their ceviche, papa rellena, and tallarín saltado. All delicious. The quality of fish and beef were great. The only thing I would change or want is for them to be open on Sundays but everyone needs a day off I suppose ;)

Driving by and decided to stop into this location that had several food trucks. We tried snacks from Latin58 and it was awesome so we decided to have food from here. Let me start off with the ceviche...WOW!!! The ceviche is a definite slap from your momma delicious!!! It was tangy, savory and the dried corn was amazing! You literally wanna eat a mouthful of fish, shrimp, red onion and corn all at once to gets the amazing flavors. The second dish we tried was the chicken tallarín which is literally chicken with spaghettis but with some amazing spices. Very tasty, perfect on the noodle and chicken grilled to perfection. My kids wanted to try the salchipapas which is French fries with grilled hot dog slices and of course they loved it. I also really love this place as it's one of the only to have Inca cola, a definite traditional soda from Peru and it's really tasty. All my elites, if your roaming around Magnolia searching for some spark in your day hit up this cool food trailer. You'll be amazed of all the goodies coming from here because it looks small but with a BANG!

Honestly, the food was just okay. I had pretty high expectations for this Peruvian restaurant…read morebecause it was highly recommended to me, but unfortunately, none of the dishes I tried really stood out. Everything was lacking in flavor, and I don't feel like this was a great representation of the authentic flavors of Peru. I ordered the Causa Rellena, Lomo Saltado a la Pobre, Arroz Chaufa, and Ají de Gallina. While none of the dishes were necessarily bad, they were all pretty underwhelming and didn't have the depth of flavor I was expecting. My other complaint was the service. It was fairly slow, and we weren't offered refills or asked if we wanted any additional drinks throughout the meal. Overall, I really wanted to enjoy this place, but unfortunately, the food and service didn't live up to my expectations.

Peruvian cuisine in the Home Style: The owner is our chef tonight, Chef Gladys…read more These roasted kernels of (not corn) but something similar. like a cross between spanish peanuts and roasted corn. Yum, and free. Stained concrete floors. At first blush, common walk-in diner style seating, small and deli atmosphere, but, like a good chile it slowly creeps up on you. Little touches, like the posters that let you dream into Lima, wall adornments that feature rich carving, stitched alpaca rug... The chairs are surprisingly high quality wood backed diner's chairs, solid and all impeccably clean. Walls dripping with decorations, wall papers, Peruvian flags, woodcraft and some "tacky" decoration tinsel curtains from Valentines Day (probably on clearance at Party City), cleanly painted and bright walls. But, my wife, having been to Peru on a few mission trips verified, "this is Peru!". So, full marks on authenticity, atmospheric flavor, and the dishes she couldn't wait to dig into State-side. Lomo Saltado: Rich soft medallions of beef, with large sautéed red onion slices and herbs resting in the pan sauce with a pyramid of white rice and a pile of timber plank style potato fries. Both my wife and daughter order this. And it looks like we are homeless, because they both clean the plates so thoroughly, they might be mistaken for clean dishes when Jasmine returns them to the kitchen. I choose the Alitas Inka Brasas, but don't be dismayed by the fancy name, this is simply 6 buffalo wings with French Fries, see pic. But it feels festive to call it something foreign. They are delicious by the way, and the sauce has a good punch. You know when a pizza joint tries to offer chicken wings and they are the absolute worst things that exist in the fast food world...these are nothing like that! Jasmine brought us some green sauce that is Jalapeño verde and some red that is a native Peruvian Rocoto pepper blend that brings just enough heat to add it to every bite of french fry. different and fun. Videos running on several monitors are actually full of the owner cooking the dishes in the menu!! How cool and original is that!?! Loo Review: This is a little Best for Last bit, aside from the wonderful food...This bathroom is so nice! I did not see this coming...OK, it's not the most extravagant materials, but it looks like they gave Martha Stewart a small budget and said "do your best!" It looks like something out of the Hamptons or a resort in Lima. Bright crisp, cozy and calm...yeah, all of those, and it works. On theme with the color palate from the dining area, but so cozy and utterly free of the Latin party feel the main room emits. I really enjoyed this place and rank it in the top tier of themed loos I have ever reviewed. A bit pricey, but truly original and authentic to its claims, and all personally chef inspired. Definitely worth the visit and the experience! Thanks Gladys and Jasmine!

The portions were very generous. We all ate off that buffet all day long! The food was delicious! The tortillas were obviously homemade, the guacamole was creamy and fresh, the fajitas were juicy and oh so tasty. The hot melted cheese sauce and ground meat "sauce" on the nacho station was outstanding. We got 1/2 refried beans and 1/2 charro beans-- I love charro beans and these were some of the tastiest I have eaten in a long time. Chocked full of chopped bacon and sautéed onion bits. I highly recommend Zully's to cater your next event. Elvyn will take great care of you and your guests!!

For many years, I have passed this restaurant. The server told me it had been there for 12 years,…read morewhich seems actually shorter than my recollection, but I won't argue the point. Why it took me so long to get here however is a mystery to me because it's a lovely restaurant. I don't mean by that the ambience it's actually rather plain however the service and the food is absolutely spectacular. I'm by no means an expert in Peruvian food however the patrons were buying for Peruvian hence I'm going to take their presence as a statement about authenticity of the food and a 12 year history. They don't sell alcohol so all of their profits are from dishes, which are absolutely spectacular. We had something a kin to an empanada, which was made with beef deep fried, but the crust was very white and very flavorful. The server gave me a side dip which added some spice to the meal however, before putting it on, I ate some without the dip and it was very flavorful. Potatoes, rice and beans are a large part of Peruvian cuisine all of which I tasted here all of which were very, very good. We got basically a sampler tray which included ceviche beef, chicken, and a potato bean combination, which was just wonderful. The waiter was kind enough to point it out to us and I'm glad he did because it was a great overview of what Peruvian food is. Since I'm not familiar with the cuisine rather than spend a great deal of time addressing it what I'm going to tell you is, it is a wonderful restaurant, the service is equally wonderful, BYOB and enjoy yourself. I will not let so much time go again before I revisit this fine Restaurant. It was a pleasure.
