    Baleadas de chorizo

Stopped by for the soft opening. Tried the Baleadas de chorizo and one of the slushy drinks. Omg So good and filling. The place is very clean and family friendly. The green grass was perfect for my toddler to walk around under the shade. Staff was friendly and welcoming.

Tbh he replied impatiently as if annoyed with the questioning. We decided to try the fried chicken momo. It was about a 15 minute wait. When he gave us the food he literally just plopped it on the counter and I heard the plastic box hit the metal counter. When I paid he didn't say thank you or anything. It's deep fried all around and not pan fried. They were smaller than Chinese dumplings but similar shape and not circular like the xiaolongbao shaped ones I had in Nepal. You get two sauces: one mild and thick and the other smaller and hot. It was good. And we were hungry. 5 stars for the chicken fried Momo. But 3 stars for attitude. We'd go back if the attitude were improved.

We ordered two different types of momos and one order of chow mein. The food was hot, delicious and just excellent. I'm so glad there's such flavorful food here in Conroe. I will be going frequently and I'm so glad I found this place.

We got a to go order from them the other night--a steak picanha platter with grilled corn and veggie kabobs, and a burger with fries. The steak is amazing. I ordered it medium rare and it came out medium but I have no complaint as it was tender and flavorful. The meat is well seasoned and finished with rock salt, and absolutely delicious. The grilled corn was tasty with a nice char, though the kernels were very tiny. The vegetables were great, particularly with their chimichurri sauce which also has great depth of flavor. The burger comes with all the trimmings, including bacon and avocado. It was a good one, tender and with great flavor. The one disappointment of the meal was the fries. They were soggy, the grease had soaked in. I don't think this was due to the meal being to go--the fries were either cooked in old oil or not cooked twice (gotta cook 'em twice to be crisp). The meat is cooked on a wood-fired pit. They have sausage and pork as well. The in-person presentation is fancy, a very nice hot platter for the food. The to go presentation is not bad either, they use quality containers that keep the food from being crushed. The price will set you back--a picanha for one is $16. It's in line with the quality. The truck is run by a family and they are very enthusiastic. If you're looking for a high-end open-air experience you'll get it here.

The beef empanadas were delicious and the addition of a light sprinkling of powdered sugar was inspired. Added a whole other profile to the fried goodness. The causa was a new item for me. Think tuna salad and mashed potato casserole served cold, but as a light and refreshing dish, with some crema on top. This would be a perfect dish for any backyard mixer or bbq. The plantains were perfectly fried, soft and sweet and savory and crispy.

When I found this food truck on Yelp with a perfect 5-star average, I knew I wanted to get here soon. After several weekends in a row of not making my way over, I finally got a chance to experience it. The verdict: it definitely hit the spot, but I do think I've had a bit better. The meat was seasoned well and the flavors were on point, but I think the super thick cut fries is what I didn't love. They were a bit much - I'd prefer a more standard size fry as the thick ones are a bit dry in the middle. But I definitely want to come back and try the paella sometime and will be sure to do so!
