    Tostadas

Such a cool hole in a wall restaurant! Located right next to a park on Jasper Avenue. El Beso is a Mexican restaurant and bar. My partner and I got different margaritas. Mine, the guava margarita, was somewhat tasteless. My partner really enjoyed his drinks. However, for being priced at over $14 per drink I think the drinks were not worth it. We ordered the taste menu for $35 with 3 courses. The tostadas were bland and boring. The tacos were decent but still somewhat tasteless. I expected more of some of the tacos such as more cumin. For dessert I got the chocolate cake which was delicious. My partner got the churro ice cream sandwich. In summary, El Beso lacked that extra thing to make it actually worth it. The drinks, overpriced, the food, lack luster.

The carnitas tacos were great. Drinks a little expensive. $12 for a margarita.. yikes! Great music. Food from what I saw and ordered not authentic yet tasty

We stopped here for a "snack" while waiting for our pick-up order from Bao Bao nearby. Well that "snack" turned into a $78 bill *face palm*. One cocktail each for hubs & I plus a $5 glass of store-bought OJ for the little guy; an order of chorizo tacos and an order of chips & guac. Yikes! I couldn't imagine what a full dinner bill would look like. Service on the patio was friendly, if not too chatty IMO. But tables were distanced appropriately and it was nice to sit within Beaver Hills Park to watch people.

Came here for the Zipstall Yelp event and it was set up so nicely. We used our Zipstall dollars for food and drinks which were very delicious. They had vegetarian option for tacos which was great but my boyfriend and I decided on the chicken tacos. The non-alcoholic margaritas were amazing - and overall great atmosphere with the music going. I've been to el beso in the past for drinks however, I will definitely return to check out the food menu.

    Very good jalapeno margarita

I had carnitas, and they were fantastic. Maybe the best I've had. The pork was seasoned and cooked perfectly!

It's okay. Very small place with extremely limited menu. It was very loud. It's not a place I would go back to anytime soon.

Although I needed to try too many things on the menu so it was expensive lol. They have amazing tacos and home made guac/salsa/chips. The chips are definitely home made because they have that authentic taste. I tried the fish tacos which I really enjoyed. I think overall though my favourite thing on the menu was definitely the guacamole! Yummy! We didn't have to wait for a seat or anything even though it was busy so that was nice. It also has a good neighbourhood vibe where everyone knows each other and its very homey and nice. I also love the little flags they give! I'll definitely be back!

I was very surprised to see that it was fairly empty on a Friday night (not sure if this is the norm). Despite that they had the music going on full blast. The restaurant is fully decorated with Mexican decor. I noticed that they also had a large party room with a stage and a dance floor. I'm guessing this is used for private bookings. The service is very casual. Once you are ready to order you go up to the front to put in your order and pay. A staff member will deliver the food to your table. Although the staff were very kind and friendly, we did notice that once the food arrived, no one came by to check on us. We were never once offered a water refill nor were our empty dishes cleared even though we had long finished our meal. I ordered the fish tacos and our table got salsa and guacamole to share. The guacamole was very fresh and tasty, we all enjoyed it. The salsa was watery so we didn't enjoy it as much. The chips were delicious but a little over baked. The tacos were absolutely delicious and I would get them again. I added some of the fixings from their toppings bar which made it even better. The portions are great for the price. 4 tacos for $17! Can't beat that. We were all stuffed by the end of the night. It would be nice if you were allowed to mix flavours though like maybe 2 of each.

The restaurant itself is quite small, which is not inherently an issue; however, on the evening we visited it was cold outside, and each time the door opened it noticeably affected the indoor temperature. Additionally, the décor felt somewhat rushed and unfinished, which detracted from the overall atmosphere. While the food was acceptable, it did not justify the wait or the overall experience.

If you plan to eat here for lunch, get there around opening at 11 because the place fills up fast. This little L-shaped eatery offers a huge menu filled with favourites like tortilla soup, a variety of tacos and enchiladas, along with desserts. The four of us ate with gusto and were pleased with everything we tried. In particular, the Tres Leches cake is outstanding, with a perfect texture, not too watery and not too sweet. Very like the cake I had eaten prior in a diner along the Texas-Mexico border. One of us was having a birthday, and he was presented with a complimentary piece while staff sang to him to a backdrop of canned birthday music. It was delightful. The staff was very pleasant.

Full of bright colours and interesting mural and interesting art all over. Seating isn't exactly comfortable but otherwise a fun plae to dine. Menu is fantastic. There are so many things to try. They have appitizers, tacos, street food, and larger mains. Be sure to check out the dessert display case. We didn't have the room for dessert but it looks amazing. Oh and there is a plentiful drink menu. Ceviche was on special and I love that so we ordered it. It contained cubed wite fish marinated in lime juice, and mixxed with pico de Gallo and tooped with avocado. It ws served with tortilla chips. It was fresh and delicious. I would order this again. My husband went with the enchilada suizas which w was 3 tortillas filled with shredded chicken baked in salsa verde. It was rich, filling , and tasty. I ordered the plato de la abuela wich had a bit of everything. It contained rice, beans, potatoes, tortillas and you can pick your filling. I went with fish and beef. Massive portions and it was really tasty too. i especially like the fish filling. I had leftovers for the next day. IF you are indecive this is a good way to go. Service was in general good, except when it was time for the bill. I had to ask repeatily. Worth trying!
