We came to El Bebe for drinks while we waited for our movie to start. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. We were greeted by the hostesses as soon as we walked in and she directed us to the bar. We ordered a few La Grande margaritas to share. The first one was the passion fruit which was amazing, all of the juices and syrups were made in house. The second one we tried was the Fresa-Jalapeño with blueberry instead of strawberry. This margarita was definitely spicy but delicious! Out of the two, I liked the spicy one the most! We appreciated how friendly the bartender was. He explained all of the drinks to use and took our into consideration before making suggestions. New restaurants in the Boro...El Bebe offers your standard Mexican fare - Tacos, Burritos, Fajitas, Enchiladas, etc. I see the Birria Tacos and that is all the craze but also see the Chicken Mole. The waitress recommends the Birria so I go for it. 3 small tacos come with a bowl of beans and rice. The beans and rice are pretty tasty. If you combine the taco with a bite of rice and beans it's a tasty bite. That said the Birria is just a bit too much on the oily side. Pretty heavy and I don't finish the 3 tacos which is rare for me. The chips and salsa is a pretty good rendition as they are not gratis but the salsa has a nice tomato flavor. Salsa seems freshly made and not from a bottle. I'd come back to try the other dishes but the oily/heaviness of the Birria leads me to 3 stars max. read more

Did I really pay $22 for this teeny salad to go??? $10 for the Caesar salad and $12 to add grilled chicken. The size of this is beyond laughable, if it were a true entree salad, I'd gladly pay that, but this is a side salad and total rip off. Had a great time hosting my work team at El BEBE! The entire staff was friendly, accommodating and overall wonderful to work with. Nice experience, good outdoor seating area. I enjoyed the jalapeño margarita and the queso. The carne asada burrito was okay, the sauce of the burrito had some spice but it was also sweet (it tasted a bit like BBQ sauce), little weird of a combination but the filling was very good. This is my first time here and had mixed feelings about this place. First, the service was very good from the host to our waiter. The ambiance was very modern compared with other Tex-Mex restaurants. On the drink, I had Fresa Jalapeño. It tasted very good. However, it lacked of alcohol. If the bartender put abit more alcohol, the drink would be perfect.. Food: Chicken tortilla soup was good and that's pretty much it. The rest was ok and lacked of taste. I guess because we already have a Tex-mex restaurant that we love and this just didn't live up to par. The kid bowl was soooo sad. It is the same side as the side dish of my steak fajitas. Our baby is 2 so the portion was alright for her (although she didn't love. Took a bit and that was it). We dined in on their first weekend opening. For appetizers, we chose the nachos. It is really fulling and in my opinion is enough for a meal if you love nachos. Next, we had the chicken fajitas and the honey chipotle salmon tacos. They use corn tortillas but can substitute for flour. Food and drinks arrived promptly. Staff were kind and accommodating when a table opened beside us and allowed us to move over. The booth section has a beautiful mural. Reservations are recommended as it was a full house. El Bebe is a very trendy and popular Mexican place not far from Tyson's corner. It's very tasty with all of the main Mexican staples you want. We came with a group of 5 and split the guac and queso to start. Guac was very tasty but the queso was a bit too spicy for me. I got the carnitas tacos for my main course which were flavorful and delicious. The food here is phenomenal. The Chicken fajitas are the best I think I've ever had. They come with warm flour tortillas, guacamole, pico de galo, cheese, sour cream and lettuce. AND rice and beans that are sooooo flavorful and rice is fluffy and delicious m. The drinks are also amazing. This is my second visit and I am so overwhelmed with joy that the food, drinks, service are even better than i remember. I had the frozen blackberry margarita and woahhhh I'll be back when the weather is hot for more! I also really love the green seating booths, art and natural light of the space. This place is great! It's in a great location and the restaurant itself is nice inside. All the food was excellent and so flavorful. The service was great. The manager, Juan, was very nice and welcoming. He chatted with us for a bit. Here is everything we got below: Corn dip - very good! It's a cold appetizer, highly recommend. Queso dip - so good and flavorful The Smokey red salsa was excellent too, and not really spicy. All the chips they serve with the dips are definitely homemade and they have an additional flavoring on them. The ground beef enchiladas were so good! It had a kick. They come off as stingy to me. My carne asada bowl came with almost the equal amount of sauce as there was meat (pictured is a standard ketchup/sauce bowl for size reference) - and it came with 4 tortillas, which I obviously did not need. Additionally, as a Mexican restaurant they charge for chips and salsa - not quite fancy enough of a place to justify charing for this. Cocktail lacked alcohol. And some of our group had issues with their parking validation so paid for parking. Our server was pretty good though. And nachos were decent. I love the nachos it's usually what I get whenever I go, and every single time the service is still a 10. I also recommend the birria, though they are only about 3 inches in width they still pack a lot of flavor. The music tends to be loud, but the food drowns all the noise out. My friends and I tried going to The Boro for the first time and figured we would give this place a shot. We managed to get a table outside and ordered drinks to start. 3 out of 4 drinks arrived quickly and the other arrived over an hour later. There was no explanation given but this seemed odd. At one point during our meal we didn't see a server come by our area for about 30 minutes. We tried carne asada tacos, a bowl (the specific type escapes me), and chicken fajitas, which were all very good. My one complaint about my carne asada tacos was that they put my requested sauce on the side in the middle of a taco and seemed to put 1/2 the amount of meat in the taco because of this. I am not sure why they couldn't place the little sauce container off to the side and provide the same portion of meat as the other tacos. Overall the food quality is worth a visit, but having to flag down a server after a lengthy wait and the one drink coming very late makes for a 3 star review. Mexican restaurants are numerous across the DC area and I do expect better, especially at this price point. read more

You know it's a bad sign when a Mexican restaurant charges you for chips and salsa. Normally I'd go for tacos at a Mexican restaurant, but here you have to get a platter of three tacos, all the same flavor, which is boring. My boyfriend and I both ended up ordering fajitas: I got the shrimp ($22) and he got the chicken ($19). But the server brought us both shrimp, so we sent his back. I shared mine with him in the meantime so that the food wouldn't get cold and he didn't have to watch me eat while he had to wait longer for his food (mind you, the shrimp fajitas come with SIX shrimp, with four tortillas... does that add up? Am I supposed to eat one tortilla with only onions and peppers?). The chicken fajitas finally came out, and he got way more for his money (i.e. actually enough for a meal). BUT when we got the check, the restaurant still charged us for TWO shrimp fajitas and the chicken one. Really? The restaurant made a mistake and expected US to pay for it? If anything, for good customer service, the restaurant should have OFFERED us something: a free dessert, a discount off the meal, a gift card for next time, something. But instead, we just had to wait even longer for them to fix the check before we could leave, and we didn't even get an apology. We considered perhaps returning for a happy hour sometime, but after looking at the menu, it's not even worth it: you save FIFTY CENTS off the chips and salsa and only $2 off the expensive (but large) margaritas. Sure, $5 beers is a good deal, but there are a lot of places that do $5 beers for HH. So... we will not be coming back, for HH or dinner. Did the food taste good? Yes. But honestly, it's hard for fajitas or tacos to taste BAD. I've never had a yucky taco; have you? With this in mind, there are a million other Mexican restaurants where you can get WAY more food for a smaller price. Some of my favorites are Uncle Julio's and Taco Rock. There's only so much more I'm willing to pay for fancy, gentrified ambiance (and if I'm going to do that, I'd rather go to Mi Vida at the Wharf). read more

My wife and I wanted to go out midweek for some dinner at El Bebe. It was our first time going there. We knew one of the bartenders, Mila, so we decided to sit at the bar. There was good music playing when we arrived. The atmosphere was comfortable and upbeat. When Mila saw us she smiled and asked what we wanted to drink. She gave us menus but I asked her if she could make a margarita of her choice. My wife wanted something unique to drink as well. Mila made us some of the best margaritas we ever tasted. Mine was a classic margarita with some mint and cucumber. It tasted so fresh. My wife's was strawberry flavored, and it tasted almost like candy. For food we decided to order the chicken nachos as an appetizer. They came out pretty quickly and were delicious. The mix of chicken, cheese, and spices was perfect. The nachos didn't taste like they were microwaved or cheap. For meals, I ordered the shrimp tacos and my wife ordered the fish tacos. Both were excellent. I liked the shrimp tacos more because they had some good spicy sauce on them. If you enjoy seafood, you'll most likely enjoy both kinds of tacos. They were fresh and came three to a plate. The rice and beans come as a side and I crushed them too. Overall, my wife and I had a great experience at El Bebe. The bartenders were polite and seemed to enjoy working there. The restrooms were clean. One downside was the parking situation. The restaurant host said they validate parking, but apparently it's for a specific parking garage. We had to pay $6 when we left the parking garage across the street. The other downside for me was how dead the restaurant got by 7:30-8 at night. It was a bummer to see a place in Tysons Corner be mostly empty during prime dinner time. Apparently they close at 10pm and don't try to have any dancing or events happen. It's strictly dinner and drinks. That's nice and all, but I feel like the restaurant could be elevated to another level. Maybe move some tables and chairs out around 9-10pm and have a DJ play music in front of a dance floor once or twice and week. El Bebe is a nice spot, nonetheless. I would go back! read more
